The novel drew out a very positive ending. They ended up together with Fahlan kept stirring them into the right direction. Sherbet was a talented individual who needed guiding…. Fahlan was very smart in a way that he knew how to create a scenario for Sherbet to understand his own feeling…. and made Sherbet accept it.
Fahlan and Sherbet, each had a unique house. Fahlan’s father designed his house to be tasteful / modern and suited one person. Sherbet had built his house as one big box with 2 dividers. Fahlan later on brought the land next to his current house and built Sherbet’s replica house next to his.
Again, that’s the book… not sure which direction the series would like to take.
The Tap/Ping resolution was lukewarm at best and their kisses? The worst. Was that Ryu's first kiss ever? It was…
In the book.... It was supposed to be overly awkward.... Don't get em wrong... I don't say that the series mad it right. LoL!
Tap didn't mean to sleep with Ping. It just happened ... sort of by accident.
Tap consulted with Far afterward of the situation. He never had a thought of sleeping with a man so he never educated himself on the 'how'. He hurt Ping badly in the process.
At the end of the book, the conclusion revealed that Ping was actually a genius and he engineered almost their entire story. He let Far and Tap thought that he was dumb.
This has to be one of the most unloved and disliked series for most viewers that I've come across and to be fair,…
I read the book so and about to give you a spoiler!!!!

I read the book and can understand why it was difficult to make this novel a series... I was surprised that they have tried, to be honest. This is like trying to make the Fifty Shades of Gray with a much smaller budget.
The story was talking about 2 people that was unlikely to want to be in a real relationship, let alone being together. Mostly Sherbet side.
Farlan was a loner in depth even thought he had his buddies. His father was a famous architect who moved away for work to the US. Farlan was left to live alone since he was young... he only knew to be alone so he never had a feeling that he wanted nor needed to be with anyone. Either he blocked out or fully not understood the meaning of 'being lonely'. He has many partners just because he felt uninterested.
Sherbet, on the other hand, only knew unhealthy relationships and avoided to be in one. His parents' brakeup was ugly and he had been in the most complex relationship with his twin brother, Shertam after they reunited during their freshmen year... They slept together and was briefly treated their relationship as a couple in secret.
Sherbet broke it off because he couldn't handle it any longer. Shertam was a good brother but an extreme possessive and abusive boyfriend. Sherbet called it off and moved out. Ever since, they went back to their 'I can't live with you + I can't live without you' relationship. They madly loved each other and deeply understand each other like no other for one min and then they would get into a fist fight the next.
So now, we have Farlan and Sherbet who went through this emotional rollercoaster together. They both didn't want to have a real relationship and be tied down but here they were... effortlessly syncing perfectly when they were together like breathing air ... and each time, one of them realized that, they put their wall up higher to avoid the unavoidable.
That's why each episode feel like a rinse & repeat... I can't blame the audiences for feeling that way... IMO, the series were produced poorly in transferring the novel to the film. I do get that they were avoiding the incest relationship matter so they altered the story but then... they picked a very difficult story to tell.... they should make a better effort to answer the pray.
What purpose does the twin “wink wink” serve in this series?.I know someone will say “calm voice of reason”…
I read the book and about to give you a spoiled….. pls stop reading if you don’t want to know…

The series changed the core idea of the book… In the novels, Sherbet + Shertam were having an incest relationship… before Farlan came into the picture… maybe a year or so before (if I remember it right).
Sherbet and Charles (their little brother) were taken to the US after their parents split up. Their mother insisted that Shertam had to stay with her. Shertam was a tad stronger individual and stood up for her so she wanted him by her side. The twin was split up for years and reunited after Sherbet announced that he would moved back to Thailand. They joined at the first year of college and they were in a relationship (sleeping together) for a brief period of time.
They are each other’s voice of reason … sort of… and no one understood them the way they were tied bound to each other. They would love each other sooooo much and 15 mins into a conversation, they would get into a fist fight, literally. They can’t live together and they can’t live without one another…. That’s their relationship.
Sherbet broke it off and moved out of the condo that Sherbet was paying for… Sherbet supported both Shertam and Charles. He was a popular songwriter that hid his real identity… his father was his front manager in US.
Sherbet had to end the relationship with Shertam because Shertam was being crazy-overly possessive and started to be too abusive with him. No one knew of their relationship (sleeping together) and that’s their kept secret.
Sherbet promised not to have a real relationship until Shertam did so he purely stuck to one-night-stand. Shertam kept telling him that was unnecessary but Sherbet insisted… until Farlan came into the picture.
Sherbet deeply felt guilty that he left Shertam in pain and difficulty to have to live with their unwell mother for years + their breakup. He felt that he shouldn’t be happy until he knew that Shertam was happy…. As well, Sherbet had no understanding of a healthy relationship.
So …. Now we have Sherbet that didn’t want to be tied down to anyone and Farlan who only knew to live by himself…. Farlan was left to live alone by his father who moved to US for work (His father was a very famous architect.) Farlan didn’t know how to have another person in his life…. He never felt lonely…. Or might be that he didn’t understand loneliness. Sherbet was the first person who he allowed to be in his house and life. Therefore, their both were learning how to brake out of their own shells…. Much resistance was on Sherbet’s side.
The book was mostly talking about their emotional development and that makes it hard to translate in to picture… plus, the series was trying to stay away from the insect relationship plot…. I get it. YET, for people that didn’t get to read the novel, it would be like ‘what the f*** is the big deal with their brotherly relationship.’
…. Sorry that my reply was too long. LoL! I just thought you might like to know ‘the why’...
Revisiting some of the scenes during Kim's time at the hideout, I call such bullsh*t on the notion that he was…
I’m with you on the memory lost…. It felt very jumpy. I was like… ‘did I miss any scenes? How did they get to that?’ I am pretty sure it was somewhat a hiccup in the editing + plot.
I did enjoy the story up to the memory lost part. It was a beautiful film overall. I got annoyed due to their potholes in the story.
Felt the timeline discrepancy with Rain’s injury as well… How many days did he hind in the secret room without food before Payoo found him? Felt like a couple of weeks… he survived on wine?… Rain wrote the message in revert of the name of their waterfall…. How did he know that Payoo would be the one finding him? If Payoo had kept Kim in hinding elsewhere, who would understand his message… very confusing

Yes, they have their own book in the novels. There are 2 books for the Star in My Mind and 1 book for Sky in My Heart. Prince showed up in the latter part of the 2nd book of Star in My Mind.
I'm so confused, can someone help me? I'm on episode 2, and I don't understand the relationship between Kuea's…
Yi and Diao were engaged to be married. Yi was a bit scary... They are mafias. His dad was a full one... but they were trying to fade out from the gray business.
Yet, that was not why Diao was afraid of him. Diao tried to please Yi... He thought if he was disobedience, Yi wouldn't love and approve of him... He didn't know that Yi already loved him so much. Yi was being a stiff upper lip + he was afraid that Diao memory lost would come back.
I read the books... so this is not like the novel by a long shot.I wished that they spent more time with Dao and…
Oh! I forgot to tell you that the breakup at his dad's birthday didn't happen in the novels.
Lian and Keua actually got a secret wedding that night after the birthday's party. The party was a 70th b-day and went very well. Everyone loved Keua.
The song was an old song that his dad loved so much. His dad wouldn't dance until that song came up.
Lian and Keua went home and replayed the song. they wanted to have the marriage love like Lian's parents... They said the vows to each other in front of their dragon dolls (Toothless and Light Fury)... and that was their first wedding... just the 2 (or 4) of them.
In the books, they never broke up... beside the time that Keua wanted to end the engagement at the beginning.
In the sample of ep 12, Lian was running in the rain... In the books. he was running to Keua at the secret house. Keua freaked out when he login to see his bank account that he has been putting in money from his drumming hobby for the first time. The bank had more than GBP800K in there... Keua freaked out and Lian didn't want him to ride the bike home so Lian was running in the rain.... the series will sure be different.
I read the books... so this is not like the novel by a long shot.I wished that they spent more time with Dao and…
It was a mad fun story in the novels... LoL! Dao and Yi had their own story which is soooo beautiful.
7 years old Dao wander out into the yard and met up with Yi's tiger pet. There were 2 in the house. One belonged to Yi's dad and one was Yi's. They were sister.
Dao didn't know and tried to pet the tiger. The tiger was too close to Dao... She got on top of him... and Yi shot the head off. Dao was soaking we with blood and cells. He lost his youth memories including anything about Yi.
Yi was devastated about Dao and the tiger. He love Dao so much but he had to keep a distance... he wasn't sure how Dao would react if the memory came back.
Yi family has been paying Dao's family millions for years and on going. They paid to sent Dao to England so Dao could be far away from his own family, which tried to make a profit out of him every chance they got. Dao had no memory of Yi... when Yi loved him so much since he was 14.... and he was a sleepless since the incident so he hesitate to move in with Dao... He let Dao stay in his house which was on top of the dealer and he went to buy a condo with the view of the house so he could watch Dao from the balcony of his condo every night.
I am with you!!! It was a good novel... Very poor screenwriting. Time management is so bad. They didn't use the…
I understand series and the novels are not usually the same. they have to make it fit on the screen. For this one, we can no longer call that a trim... It is a cut or a hack. They cut around 50% of Lian & Keua story and around 75% of Dao & Yi. Both stories have a LOT of content to offer. It is a shame that people don't get to see and understand it.
Keua had a music career after they engaged. They discussed about a huge amount of money Kuea made and didn't know of. They went to Tomorrowland together.
When they went to Vienna, we get to know about Keua's family... His father controlled the game from his point of view... the 2 families together reactions. Lian was so afraid of Kuea's dad... he was sweating in the palms as never before for anyone.
Or Keua with his internship at the racetrack... Mechanic Keua as Lian called it.
Dao and Yi had a wedding that was an adventure because they had to cut tie with Dao's family. Dao didn't have to choose but he chose because he loved Yi. They were a cat & mouse game there which was soooo much going on.
Yi and Dao healing... of the tiger incident. How Dao has a memory lost and Yi never slept at night.
Yi's overbearing of Dao... The car accident... which showed Yi's real feeling of Yi when he was 14 years old... How much he has love Dao and was honest to his feeling back then.
I do agree that Syn and Neau were very-very cute.... but again... no content in their story.... comparing to what got cut.
I posted a recap of both books in the discussion section if anyone are interested.
The best thing to come out of this drama is all the discussion about toxic relationships, red flags, bad screenwriting…
I am with you!!! It was a good novel... Very poor screenwriting. Time management is so bad. They didn't use the good provided tools that the books offered.
I don't have any ill feeling toward the 3rd couple Syn and Neua. I think that they were cute but boring + they took a lot of screen time. They could have used that time on Dao and Yi... their good story was trimming to non-understandable. Tons of people were confused... I wonder how they are going to wrap it up in one last episode.
I am so happy to see the comments here! I thought I was the only one getting frustrated at the turn of events.…
I read the books... so this is not like the novel by a long shot. I wished that they spent more time with Dao and Yi... Their story is very interesting and needs more time to make it make sense. The past accident was with the tiger pet; not a dog... severity was incomparable. Yi has a lot of non-expressive love for Dao which he later showed... he couldn't sit still and spy on Dao when he went camping. Yi ended up loving the dog so much that he took the dog with him on the boat. I think it was a lot more to tell. And their wedding was fun! Yi's dad love Dao so much that he mingled into their business.
They have created the 3rd couple which is Syn and Neua... That they had spent so much time on. I like the couple BUT their story is not interesting to me.
They probably cut out Keua's music career and the giant bank account that Kuea had... Oh! Probably killed the Vienna scene, too. That is a shame.
I think it is a good story line in the novel. The series are somewhat well made but the time management is very poor, imo.... So I shared your pain. Disappointed!
I'm just super curious if Porsche will remember anything or if he will regret it, cause in the next episode it…
This part is an adaptation away from the book. In the novels, Porsche got something similar to GHB... so he had to... He didn't want to. In the series, seemed like he just wanted to for fun.
I wondered about your question myself. In the books, Porsche remembered everything and felt horrible about it.
