Lian is actually ok with everything. He only had trouble with Kuea's lying. The reason Lian never checked on Kuea before is because he wanted Kuea to live the way Kuea wanted... he didn't expect to be surprised. He planned to be with Kuea after the graduation.
After all Lian wanted to make sure that there is nothing else hidden. And ultimately, Lian wanted Kuea to be ok with himself,... to take down the wall that Kuea thought other dimensions of him couldn't be in the light.

I was growing up at the time that entertaining job was not acceptable for old fashion & old money... it was considered a serving job & unstable, like u have to portray yourself for money. Being on the bike is a 'no-no', it's not well-mannered & courteous for the old fashioned with money...
Chinese marries Thai used to not be a preferred choice also. My parents were pioneers and they didn't make it... too rough current underneath. In ep 3, Lian said that he had to be successful to be able to marry Kuea... because that is usually the only possible consolidation. I took that to the heart.

Yi is very scary when he is mad... Kon Diao is way too 'angelic' nature + the tear... Yi couldn't never be mean to him. Kon Diao always clams Yi down and made him feel like home in his present. (Later Yi would realize that)
