Amazing acting, impressive production, overall entertaining
**updated after finishing the drama**This was tightly paced and well done except for some blips in the later episodes. Overall the production value of this drama is so great.
I am loving this drama! Both leads are doing an outstanding job. I did watch the Korean version first and I do compare the storyline often, but I am also enjoying this version thoroughly. There are some minor changes (and we can anticipate more since this is only 10 episodes while original was 16) but changes so far works for the japanese adaptation.
I am a huge Satoh Takeru fan so I started this just for him but Koshiba Fuka has also done a good job. Even the second leads/villains are good so far.
The Soundtrack is also super fun and I am loving the Japenese/Korean collaboration with the director and music. Definitely gives the drama a different feel compared to typical jdramas.

A disappointing last season that tarnishes the near perfect first season of a show
This season was disappointing and the ending was frustrating. Now, I know many people will say that the ending has lots of meaning - Innocence winning, proving that everyone is greedy at the end, and that sometimes good can just never win against evil. My response to that is that all of this would have been entertaining if S2+S3 was a standalone story. Imagine a standalone story with no baggage with the baby winning the game. Epic.
Where things fall apart is that S3 was supposed to wrap up an already launched story. All of the commentary on society and shock value has already been covered in S1, so we were supposed to see the characters accomplishing what they set out to do.
Instead, everyone failed. We got a repeat of the same commentary about greed and selfishness through the characters actions. No one we rooted for survived, and a baby that came too late in the story won.
Even if one character had made a difference.. if Jun Ho had killed a few VIPs on his way out or if Gi Hun had managed to avenge and do something that would ensure the games don't happen again or if a character we rooted for since S2 had won, I think the ending would have been more satisfying.

Beautiful story and amazing acting results in a drama that packs a huge emotional punch.
This is a beautifully written drama with such emotional depth. I wish I had even a fraction of the story teller's talent to express how much I loved this drama and all the little warm nuggets of life stories in it. It is serious and heavy, yes. It has some missteps, yes and more importantly some character decisions will frustrate you unless you truly understand the havoc depression plays on the human mind. The representation of depression in the drama can be very real in the physical sense for some people and in some cases it might be a metaphorical representation of what happens on your brain. That door opening.. it feels like your mind finally opening up to some joy and some feeling.
So this is not an easy going drama and it is not a romance or rom com. It is therapy wrapped in a story with some amazing lines.
Park Bo Young's acting alone warrants a watch. It is unbelievable sometimes that the two characters are played by the same person. The actors who played the mothers are also amazing. The male leads were good but you will be spellbound by the women here.
"Life isn't a story book with an ending. it is a notebook that you have to fill in".
Go watch it. Give it a shot. Bawl your eyes out.
