Yeah that part was totally unnecessary. there is no way a smart capable lawyer in her 30s would be unhinged enough…
ok, sure, there are people out there having unhealthy para social relationships with kpop idols.. let me rephrase my objection - it is odd to have such a character as a female lead. an unhinged second FML? a villain? sure. But this level of delusion and fan behavior makes for a character most people would not root for.
Please, under no circumstances must we normalize feeling depressed if your favorite singer gets a girlfriend.
Yeah that part was totally unnecessary. there is no way a smart capable lawyer in her 30s would be unhinged enough to think her idol would never date someone and would always "save" himself for the fans.
Doesn't a love story require two people? Here every moment of support, care and affection big and small has been…
Yup! and it is even more odd that the ML basically likes her only because she is the girl from the past. they spent such little quality time together to get to know each other before he confessed.
what the HELL? This was 100x better than that senseless brainrot "Bon Apetit Majesty" and still has lower…
Art is subjective. you cannot objectively say one drama is better than others. I agree with the other commentor. Take the high road, be nice, and praise the drama you love without dragging down others. I am not saying this as a fan of either dramas. I am just shocked at the mud slinging happening in MDL comments now. So many mean comments and people fighting over favorites. What happened to respectable discourse?
IMO she acts like a teenager instead of an adult woman. She's supposed to be in her 20s and she acts 16.
I think you hit the nail on the head! even in the beginning before they start dating, there isnt much in her expressions to show why she likes him. even her confession was like a teenager's
This is a decent drama that could have been better if it stuck to comedy/romance alone. The drama tried to insert sentimental stuff and serious angst which wasn't needed. The whole "FL just wants to be a Cinderella " was a fun concept and kind of funny on the comedy side. But then the drama would get all serious and the audience has to sympathetic with a sobbing FL because her dream to marry rich isnt working out... just doesnt make sense. Pure comedy and romance would have been a better bet.
This is a very adult drama lol. Very perverted. Definitely think it should be 17+ with all the overt graphic sexual…
I thought they did a good job of warning viewers within the first couple of minutes. the narrator says this isnt a story for kids.. so adults with sparkle in their eyes, please follow along.
The silent, unseen pains, and struggles of adulting and corporate life, were delicately captured here. I felt…
Completely agree that this captures burnout from work well..her reaction could have been of someone in a toxic work environment without the type of bullying she had as well.
This certainly is one of those rare dramas where I think the age of the viewer matters. many negative reviews are from people looking for fluff and romance (I saw comments counting the number of kisses per couple!). This is a drama about life, stress of work, emotional health etc..not a simple romance with a back story.
I really don't get the negative reviews, cause despite some flaws, the drama was, for me, absolutely worth watching.…
I am shocked by the top review being a negative one. This is such a beautiful drama with so much depth. From some comments it looks like people expected a light romance or even rom com.
This is a beautifully written drama with such emotional depth. I wish I had even a fraction of the story teller's talent to express how much I loved this drama and all the little warm nuggets of life stories in it. It is serious and heavy, yes. It has some missteps, yes and more importantly some character decisions will frustrate you unless you truly understand the havoc depression plays on the human mind. So this is not an easy going drama and it is not a romance or rom com. It is therapy wrapped in a story with some amazing lines.

It is odd that the drama has multiple reviews raring it a 10, with a whole bunch of upvotes for those reviews all within a day. If you see most upvoted reviews, they have all been posted within the last day or two, but somehow have more engagement and votes than older ones. I do suspect that a group of fans are trying to keep the score up, maybe CYW fansites. I loved him in the drama and he is turning out to be a favorite of mine, but the reviews are suspicious.
More thoughts with spoilers... they spent way too much time in the last two episodes on things that didn't help…
Totally agree!! adding to your thoughts.. once they reveal the truth that she was responsible and just harassed him out of guilt, the stuff she said didn't make sense at all. If she was just lashing out from guilt, she would say things more like "look what you did to others/the school" but she kept saying "look what you did to me" and Gyeon U kept acting very responsible. Why? how can the situation in any way be twisted for her to blame her situation (whatever it was) on him without knowing parts of his unlucky past. Very confusing.

Exactly! He looked amazing but what was the point? At least they could have made him discover her through thr ghosts. Like someone saw her in so and so location instead of the dream sequence drawing. They could have still kept the dream sequence.. just have him catch a ghost informant the next day with his archery skills.
Do they ever tell about Jiho's background? Like his family, or his life out of the school?I feel like his character…
I do wish they had fleshed him out at least towards the end. Did he go to college? Get a job? Fall in love with someone else? He just existed in the context of being a friend and it was very off.
i just cant believe how we have like thousands of so-called experts with all this experience in film or whatever,…
I agree that personal attacks on actors, their looks, or anything like that should be off limits. I would recommend the kdrama subreddit on Reddit. the mods are amazing at keeping the crowd in check and no one is allowed to make hateful or personally insulting comments.
but I do think that the whole point of sites like MDL is to review and discuss shows. So it should be possible for a layman like me (with no movie or drama making experience) to post comments being critical of shows. No show or movie is 100% perfect because art is always subjective. It isn't math or physics to have an objective right or wrong. So you will always have people who like a show while others hate it or have objection with parts of the plot.
There's really something I don't understand. As this kdrama has more than 34,726 viewers and the “Lee Jong Suk”…
Nope - it is all about the type of drama. a drama like HoH sucks you in with a fast paced plot, and a mystery that you wonder about. where as a "slice of life" drama like Law and the City is more about vibes than plot or even a mystery. You need patience and an appreciation of slow burn stories to enjoy a drama about friends sitting around and discussing stuff. Not saying Law isn't good..the pacing and style just isn't as popular as a mystery/rom com/action/supernatural drama.
A spectacular 9⭐️ show until ep 10. The last two episodes really messed up the tone and pace of the show,…
More thoughts with spoilers... they spent way too much time in the last two episodes on things that didn't help the plot. How did seong a disappearing move the plot along? What was the point of Gyeon U running around in forests shooting arrows at ghosts? ultimately he found her via a dream and all the chasing was a waste. Gyeon U and his family's back story or connection to yeomha was never explained.
A spectacular 9⭐️ show until ep 10. The last two episodes really messed up the tone and pace of the show, dragging down the overall impact. it is still worth a watch for the acting. Choose Young Woo was absolutely fantastic in this and even Cho Yi Hyun was adorable.
Yeah… I totally get what you’re saying and I didn’t miss that part. She realizes that if she did anything…
I understand you aren't enjoying the drama and subjectively think her actions are not enjoyable. The problem is that your review makes a statement as if it is objective and fact based but what you mention in the review is in direct contrast to what is happening in the drama. This is an ongoing dramas and misleading reviews like yours may put off spme viewers. Reviews should focus on how you feel about what happened or what was presented unless you can be faithful in your story telling.

Go watch it. Give it a shot. Bawl your eyes out.
