Yes! From her perspective it does make sense but i felt bad for him when he points out she never responded to his many messages. Must have been so confusing for him.

I do agree that the break was good. I just felt bad for JX. You could see he was hurt she didnt respond to any messages 😪 But yes, the reunion and him finally seeing her as grown up works better witj the break.

I do have to get one gripe off my chest since i cant continue watching before telling it to someone, it annoys me so much! I hate how Sang Zhi completely cuts off contact with Jia Xu once she "confirms" he has a girlfriend. I get that SZ was heartbroken but did she really see him as a romantic interest and nothing else? I liked how JX gives her grief later for not being in touch. He did so much for her as a friend and she ignored him for 2 whole years?! He didnt even cheat on her. He was clueless and she was too young at that point for him to even notice her crush. It was immature of her and very selfish as well. Hopefully she gets some character growth since so far she is seeing him as a possession. If i dont get him, i wont see him.

Exactly!!! I feel this would have ayed out better if the leads met again by mere coincidence and FL is happy to see him, i stead of FL obsessively living her life just to meet ML.

Only comments about creepiness i see are about FLs obsession with ML. She knew him as a 9 yesr boy when she was 12. So (1)- Deep ever lasting life changing love a 12 year feels for 9 year old in a drama trying to be very serious, vs (2) a boss guessing the clothes and shoe size right miraculously in a goofy rom com/ drama.

I think the two situations are very very different. You just cant compare the possible creepiness of the boss-subordinate relationship between two consenting mature adults to a 12 year old crushing hard on a 9 year old.

What I am struggling with is - would an emotionally stunted person who is rarely or ever phased truly alter their entire life (the 19th one) for one person they knew for a short while? It wasnt even a mature love or romance where a month long relationship could have a big impact. She knew this kid for a short while but that experience touched her so much more than anything in centuries did? That little kid made her want to shape her 19th life around him? To me there was no explanation for this. Why was he so different that he made this unphased person in their 18th life pause and take notice?

I mean, can their interaction as kids in her 18th life even be called a romance? At most a crush a 9 year old boy had on a 12 year old girl. But yes, the first life helps viewers understand the urgency which may have been needed although it wasnt in the webcomic.

This is the reason I am hesitant to continue the drama and came here to read spoilers 😀 It is so tough to believe Ji Eum is so in love with Seo Ha without really knowing him. Even if they arw reincarnations, wont their experiences apart make them somewhat different people they need to get to know? She was 13 and he was 9 in 18th life. Do kids that age know enough to feel life altering romantic love?

It feels like the typical "leads are in love because this is a drama and they need to be in love" situation.

Unfortunately shows like these are geared towards and very popular with teenagers. I agree that older audiences may be able to differentiate and accept flawed characters.

Completely agree!! I am just sharing my personal thoughts which i know a lot of others agree with in regards to how LX treats ZY and others in general. Of course I personally know couples with a similar dynamic or just people like LX. Just saying i think the drama would've been more enjoyable with a healthy relationship.

His backstory would explain why he doesnt trust people and doesnt want to get close to them. In other words - being 'cold'. Not being an asshole. Or, let him be an asshole (this is a fictional story after all!) but let's be real and accept it.

I am in tech. I manage software teams. As a manager or in the past as a developer, i have never treated people on my team like this. The way he let his team fail a demo although he knew their product wasnt good? Asshole move. Yes, he spoke to them about their designs flaws once but then he let them fail knowing their demo would fail, came in prepared to show his version. In real life it makes your team hate you, not idolise you.

And no, not even when you are in a rough situation. Without
getting into personal details I can assure you i have been in extremly tough, life altering, emotionally draining, life and death situations. But guess how I acted at work? Cordial and always supporting my team. Not being an asshole. The days i felt i just couldn't face someone without snapping at them or bursting into tears, I took a mental health day and worked on my own health.

My hopes dreams and wish for a remake of this will never happen, I know. But one can dream. How awesome would this show be if LX and ZY had planned to avenge his sister's death together? The system won't help them, we know. So they talk and ZY agrees to let him go for a drastic revenge. They lose their company due to this. He comes out if prison and they work together to get the company back.

A united front with clear communication and no manipulation within the relationship!! It could have been a kick ass revenge drama.

I see how perfect people or MLs are unrealistic. Flaws make the characters human.
But in real life..would a girl really pine for a man who manipulated her, pushed her out of the company she helped build, and choose to avenge his sister's death at the cost of both their futures? It isnt even a legal revenge. He consciously and intentionally did something he knew would get him in jail in a society where that is professional and social suicide. Ruined his future. Her future. And the company they built.

How is the girl still being in love with this type of guy realistic?

What's worse is they are all terrible and not realistic. I wish they had dropped the attempt to have techy talk instead of having bad/unrealistic techy talk which no one is enjoying.

I agree that the criticism on acting, the leads, the overall plot etc are harsh. This actually has a nice overall plot where the past and present eras are interesting.

One thing i would disagree with is the way this (like many other dramas and movies!) will glorify toxic men and controlling relationships especially to younger viewers. I am not aaying every ML on every drama should be a paragon of virtue. I agree..too much "right moral values" and perfect characters can be unrealistic. But here we have a ML who is extremely arrogant( not just cold. He is at minimum arrogant to people and at times, basically an asshole). He always does things his own way no matter how it effects his team/friends/girlfriend. He made unilateral decisions about a relationship without talking to the other person. He ripped someone's work away from them because he thought it was right. A true leader watches their team walk towards the cliff and lets them resolve issues before intervening. LX basically let his team fall off the cliff spectacularly and came in as the hero after they lost.
After all this - he is still portrayed as the amazing person the FL is still willing to sacrifice her life's work for.

Teenagers watching this will think it is normal. That a man making decisions for them or a man choosing to do only what is right for him is romantic.

Again - is this was a drama about a flawed man and the girl who chose to love him - fine. But this is a rom com aimed at a much younger audience that is putting this man on a pedestal.

True! Definitely the whole "this girl treats me like a normal human" attraction trope, done well if you think about it.

Yup. Once you slowly find out why she is there and once you realize she mistook him for the wine seller, some of it makes sense. I wish they had done a little more set up of the story before the leads met. And also toned down some of her reaction like beating him up with the broom. It has definitely improved and am enjoying it for now.
