They had the best cast of all the kbls ever produced from side characters to main but they just decided to the destroy the potential of fame for this drama with unnecessary plots and lazy story telling. I was still looking forward to it but seriously it has been disappointing. I can’t defend it anymore. Secret relationships wins the trophy this year.
I knew she was the carrot juice girl. Dang! Since these past few days,I had an inkling, nope I was 100% sure that she was the carrot juice girl ever since they talked and Heesu scolded her.
Can we get a boys of flower version with Junseo as Jandi, Jungwoo as Gu jun pyo, hoyoung as violin guy, Sun Hyung as the mafia’s son, Kim bum can be played by someone else.
Finally Heesu found someone who likes what he likes. It has always been him trying to adjust to Chanyoung. Now,he got someone who wants to do things he love doing with him. Chanyoung’s confession hurt him less with Seungwon and he started seeing him in a new light with how he is always there assure him of everything.
I’m loving this. Unlike most of the comments I actually like that they have incorporated a straight couple except for the screentime and lack of story development in ep 4,i like how it is going. It’s so much more enjoyable and realistic. And the slow burn definitely makes it even more fun,Heesu being oblivious to Seungwon’s feelings and Seungwon trying hard to impress him,it’s chef’s kiss. I want to see the backstory of how Seungwon started to like Heesu.
Though there are scenes they should have put and done better, I still like this drama and look forward to seeing more episodes mainly because the main characters are phenomenal actors and even the rest of the cast from the sisters to the teacher have all worked in big projects and I have seen almost all of them growing up. I say this is the first mainstream BL not because of where it is streamed or for how long the episodes are but because of the cast. People might disagree with me. But personally this is how I see it. I like the way it is shot, how the scenes were delivered, the acting styles of the actors not fitting into the stereotypes. There are many things lacking with not only the screen time but also with how the depth of Chanyoung and Jiyu’s story is portrayed. I wish if they wanted to give them more screen time, the intensity of their struggles should have been more deeply shown so that people can sympathise for it however it made it seem rushed and like a filler. I wish they will give a backstory of Seungwon’s life as well in the coming ep. I hope people will wait till the end before downvoting it and give this series a chance . Fingers crossed hoping the next episode overshadows the disappointment of ep 4.
Imo it is necessary. We get to see how and why Hee Soo was obsessed about Chan Young . Also we get to see the…
If you read my previous comments,I was rooting for the way this story had incorporated their story as well and how they are a couple and I justified it as well. And I was enjoying till the 3rd ep. But ep 4 was boring, let’s accept that there are four mains and they can have more screentime no doubt,I definitely don’t have a problem because I watch both genres straight or gay and I’m personally straight. But their story be it personal or relationship was spaced out in the most boring way. If they were the only characters,I believe the drama would have flopped. Half the time,it’s just Chanyoung playing tennis and trying to look cool. If they want to focus on his sports story,it should be done with some sort of intensity and likewise with Jiyu. I can’t sympathise with the struggles they go through because they show lesser parts of that. If they wrote the characters right, many would be rooting for the second couple like people do in many other shows.
Also no matter if they are straight,if their character was well written or portrayed well, you just can’t help liking them. There are lots of dramas where people root for the second couple rather than the main. But this isn’t it. And episode 4 wasn’t well spaced out.
I think it’s not just about the gays getting less screen time, the whole story of Chanyoung and Jiyu are kinda lacklustre, very dragging. Let’s imagine they were the only characters without Heesu and Seungwon,I think the drama would have flopped badly. I’m straight and I watch both genres, twenty five twenty one, twinkling watermelon were my favs in coming of age dramas and I don’t have a problem with having straight couples or them also being a main along with the other two as well. But their story is just isn’t written well. Half of the time it’s just Chanyoung throwing the ball.
This could have gone so well and be really popular considering the actors and the settings of the drama. But they are starting to disappoint. Hope the rest of the episodes will make up for the lacklustre episode. Keeping the fingers crossed otherwise I can see the rating definitely dropping soon.
I swear to god these freakin tennis balls have more screen time than our "main couple"
LOL! That had me on the floor. Damn,I got to agree with you for this episode. It’s like Chanyoung and tennis. How come we didn’t get the chicken date when we got the guitar dealing and hand holding from the side couple.
Alright I have to accept the criticism today. The side couple had too much screentime. And I’m tired of Chanyoung taking up 2-3 mins just to play tennis and look cool.
I want to see the backstory of how Seungwon started to like Heesu.
I can’t help but love his doltish character.
