I enjoyed them together in WoACN and agree with many of your points and hope for the same.

I’d love to see him in an ensemble piece like In a Class of Her Own which I loved so much. He still looks youthful and should be in many youth projects while he could, before graduating to the adult stuff

with just 8 episodes left… I’m not sure if it’ll happen in the drama, but I’ve been unpleasantly surprised with rushed ending of drama… I hope this won’t be the case 🙏🏻

Unfortunately agreed. HMU did him dirty. He’s one of the most naturally beautiful specimen in the world… and they did that. 😭

I really enjoyed this drama. I love the main leads, the support characters, as frustrating they are. Many of the dramas of this caliber that came out this year have much better production value though I will not name them here because I don’t want to start any unnecessary fan wars.

As much as I enjoyed the show, I think I’m really disappointed in this production for the set designers, HMUA, writers, directors and the CGI team that cheapened and watered down an incredible IP and star power of the actors.

I guess my expectations were too high for this drama.

Do I still recommend the crap out of this show? Absolutely! It’s definitely worth the watch. Could it be better? Yes.

Wait a minute.. did the main cp have their first night together in ep 18? And then again later in the episode when he carried her seemingly princess carried to the bedroom? That was the most casual and nonchalant progression I’ve seen in this genre. I’m not hating it, it just made me blink and go, “what just happened?”

When I saw all the important Yue texts and libraries stored in a swamp-like humid condition… I wondered how they prevented the texts from quickly deteriorating and molding.

I think their acting is incredible and am impressed. It’s one of the few times where second leads actully make sense and contribute and are an integral part of the story and its development.

Why are some Esther Yu and ZLH’s fans being so toxic today? Can y’all please take that anger to Twitter and Weibo and let us international viewers just enjoy the show in peace?

Heat index, rankings and polls REALLY doesn’t matter to me, and I hate seeing the comment section being flooded with spam posts.

It does nothing to make the case for Esther Yu and ZLH. If anything, it turns people off to them while giving EY and ZLH and their fans bad rep.

There are 4 main leads. EY and ZLH are top billing, but there are 4 main leads in the story, let’s get that out of the way first.

Second, EY and ZLH, despite the protest, get the most screen time both individually and as a couple. They also get the most gorgeous scenes, including the lantern festival scene and the incredible fight choreos. The whole “main leads get less screen time than the second leads” is just factually false.

Please take your rant to Weibo or Twitter. We want to discuss the drama, the story itself, not about your idols.

I like that even their nobel idiocy breakup was short and quickly resolved with a conversation.

All in all, this drama is enjoyable and I’m pleasantly surprised!
