yeah he was never a good guy but you can see he had to do something to get there. otherwise he would be abandoned and he did things so he could get his favour and worked hard. i mean he is the psycho who made segye look like a bad guy but it is all so he could have a place in grandfather's home and grandfather knew that. instead of teaching the kid that he doesn't have to do all that and making a place for him, he made both of them suffer. used mun do for everything and letting se gye face problems just because he doesn't stay where he wants him to and yet giving him everything just because he is the real blood and made mun do fake promises to keep him working like a dog.

all of this could've been managed if he'd done both of the boys right.

I hate the grandfather the most. choi mun do was crazy but grandfather purposely use him for all his worth knowingly, even taking his kidney and making him work for 20 years under him, yet still seeing him as a lowly bastard.

He is the bad guy here. he could've removed him from the start but didn't, for his benefits and then calling him a debt. LOL if anything, he should pay mun do for everything and grandfather is the one who owes him his life.

can someone tell me what are the differences between novel and drama? i heard some plot arc wasn't in the novel at all but added for drama in the series and it makes it a mess?

I read the novel years ago but never completed it so I'm not sure but I think the romance between second couple wasn't a thing? and I could tell just watching them they felt off somehow lol

I think you're looking at it in the wrong way. it is about his grandpa learning and changing his views about lgbt. his time was different and he still holds certain views but he is slowly changing and learning throughout this story why they're wrong. I do agree that some lessons should be done in more tasteful way rather than just being about time has changed and now its acceptable. but it is still a stepup and old people can be very rigid. here he is willingly learning and changing his ways. it can be a good series for old folks to come to terms with being more open and accepting.

I'm at 25 and I have to say this drama is average.

the best episode was ep 1. it was so peak but after that, I kept thinking something good wil happen now but barely anything happens. the aesthetics are top-tier and their relationship is great but everything else? i feel like other dramas has done it better.

it takes too long to reach a good point like I was already at 13-14 where finally story picked up but the pacing slowed down.

i was lured in by the ratings and WOM, it was mentioned everywhere but imo it ain't that good.

even in the same exact genre, the double did it better.

maybe its because I came after watching fate chooses you which was so packed and every other episode was a entertainment fest that my opinion might be affected. I'll try to complete it and see if my POV changes but I don't really think it deserves 8.8 rating.
