he pushes the girl away from him and was upset multiple times when she came close or he passed a smile to her and it is very much in their actions. I'm not claiming they're gonna have a relationship or anything on this drama as I have only watched one episode till now but they are SCREAMING gay side couple blatantly.

FoF is which one?? and how does historical cdramas are just letting it happen? heaven official blessings are still not out because it was based on BL but others hint at it and they let it pass? this one was too obvious and at first ep only so it gave me major shock especially since the guidelines have become stricter I have heard and they refused to let go of censorship. i really enjoy when random gay couples pop out tbh
it used to happen so much in cdramas before but this drama is the rare instance in years for me

Just finished watching ep 1, li jie and li jing are pretty much gay so my only question is how did that pass the censorship 💀

I was absolutely in love with S1 so when I found out zhuge qing was replaced, I was quite upset since I was waiting for zhuge qing and wang ye story to be more developed this season and that's why I didn't watch S2 as it aired.

Now I thought maybe I should check this season out but seeing the comments regarding this two and even the main characters, I guess I'll just forget S2 exists :/

When I'm in the competition of devotion and dedication to my partner and my opponents are shouhua and yang xian, I'm doomed.

Most of them had few flaws but if I started listing them it would be too much so I'll just let it be..

The funny thing is the first meeting of every couple was great and epic but only one was very basic and that's the only couple that had the best storyline in comparison imo LoL

During the start, I was afraid that it might follow only one couple since I started it for multi couple storylines.

I thought they would occur simultaneously instead of in an order

Out of the six, Only one couple was truly a perfect match

Two were good, could've been perfect

Two were .... Not good enough

One was underdeveloped

I feel like the potential of it was bigger than what it is.

that's not to say it is not good or it is bad, it is good.

yang xian whenever he calls li leshan, he calls her something else, sound is totally different but subs says li leshan on Netflix. can someone tell me what he is actually calling her???

it is a happy ending (mostly). the line do holds a meaning but the series having a happy ending is why I said that line was crazy. if I told you anything, it will be a spoiler so just watch it and you will understand. the main couples lives happily together in every universe. don't worry

i think being pretty also helps and simplicity of it is the reason why it was able to get most people through it. most historical chinese dramas start with intrigue but becomes heavier and political and loses the initial intrigue and takes too long for MCs to be involved. POJ balanced it good even if it was silly, people were willing to ignore since it is enjoyable. and the viral factor can't be ignored. many people may not have watched previously best historical themed cdrama and they might have this as their first and find it new and fun

they are likable in this series. I'm not saying you have to like them all but they all do have likablity factor and everyone seems to have one fan who likes them which is what I'm talking about. there is no particular villain here

i feel the same. there was no need and it really cheapened his character development

i feel like it is also because this series particularly was able to keep people's attention. being addicting and savoury is rarely achievable even with the great storylines for a series with 40 episodes. making all the characters likable is also very rare.
