Was sort of curious cause I know it's not doing that great in the ratings departments, I see a ton of negative and some below average reviews as well, I know a bunch don't like this but a bunch who enjoyed it. There was so much built up anticipation for months and delays, many were asking when it'll be released and false rumors flying everywhere, so for those peeps who put this show on a "must" watch list pedestal, how does this fare overall in your opinion? Does it live up to the hype?

That bloody kiss caught XJ off-guard but I think he got his expressions all wrong - he should have given a painful look and not surprised.

I think she's more like a spoiled entitled brat who thinks she can do whatever without repercussions. Typical princess behavior. Not evil per se but incredibly repulsive, toxic and narrow-minded cause she's lived a sheltered and pampered life in luxury.

She's just a chess piece. I don't feel bad at her at the slightest, just with the dumb crap she pulled in today's episode. Her spoiled entitled princess narrow-minded attitude irks me like to no end.

Considering the ep34 preview, is CZ going full obsession mode after he witness an intimate scene like that? I think the next few episodes is going to test our couple even more, he might even ask the emperor to force her hand in marriage. I don't think he is an evil character but I am not sure what his motives are, sort of borderline between good and bad, its a pretty difficult layered character to play, the actor is handsome but his acting is choppy. And the annoying, spoiled, privileged and narrow-minded girl hanging on to him.

Today's episodes on fire, so much satisfaction watching her stepbrother go down and then two kisses are both sweet but so short. ZY and CL chemistry on fire. Need to find a replacement drama but ZY shows isn't airing anytime soon, went over to watch CL's new drama trailer since I saw that it was about generals too, but man, his new drama looks so uninteresting, rather wait for How Dare You!

Not sure if this show is considered a success in some ways or another, but it appears that both ZY and CL are rising in popularity due to this show but it's also getting average/low ratings and a lot of criticism with the way it was adapted to the original novel.

Yeah tell me about it. Such a total disgrace and dishonor for his family. So useless and pathetic too.

It's bittersweet that this show is ending soon. I can't fathom how I can see both of them can outdo the chemistry in other romance focused dramas now. He Yan and Xiao Jue forever. Seriously they need to do a modern/nostalgic show together - I'm already picturing them in her new drama 1983.

My thoughts exactly. Like I get she is in her moment but it's a huge flaw to get that vulnerable in the middle of a freakin' battlefield, where she's surrounded by enemies in every corner. Not being less empathetic of the situation, but as one of the top generals, she needs to get her act together to defeat her foes foremost and then deal with her emotions for the sake of survival to lead her comrades. I wish they made her full of fury to avenge XJ instead of a breakdown like that and loss all awareness that could've gotten her killed.

I was thinking the same. Wang Anyu needs to collaborate with her. I imagined him with ZY in Passionately in Love, I bet they will have good chemistry.

Honestly this show has run its course. Season 2 was the best and funniest and there was a real sense of friendly competition, the sequels are just bland and boring.

These few episodes are so sugary sweet with ice cream drizzled with caramel & chocolate topped with peanuts and sprinkles and the whole nine, I'm afraid of getting any cavities. XJ is really a gentlemen or top hubby material on the exterior but they act like an old couple bickering on the inside where no one notices. XJ is just so loyal and devoted to HY it's quite remarkable how protective and thoughtful he is of her.

Not to spill water on your list of demands asking for the moon but I enjoyed reading it haha. I'm just happy to have them grace my screen everyday with that sizzling unparalled chemistry. I can just drink in their visuals both on and off screen. If I'm going to get greedy, I just want to see them in a modern drama again.

Our heroine backed our poor hero into the corner for many eps with her endless flirting so he reciprocates all-in. She can't handle it. I do wonder why XJ stopped himself from closing in to her face in the eyebrow makeup scene, maybe he realizes he's gone too far? But me like, what the heck, there's no interruption, you paralyzed HY with your deadly stares, why are you hesitating dude.....you are the ruthless commander and you should kiss her like no tmr. Then I cool down and tell myself save it for another day lol.

Today's episodes are such a treat in the rom-com department. Lol, does he even look like a father? The photo frame scene is hilarious, our heroine has seen it all haha.

Yeah I agree, but people have their right to complain so let them be. I love watching ZY, she comes across as professional and always has a great chemistry with her partners. She doesn't come across as pretentious or too girly in game shows either and can hold her own even with her supposed "petite" stature. In most ways, she acts a lot like herself and I can never get bored of seeing her act. Her character isn't without flaws as others point out but I can overlook those points cause she makes up for it in other ways. I've learnt the art of letting some things slide so I can enjoy the drama for what it is, unless I see something very deceiving like in some other dramas for which I would go on a rant fest but I'm content there's nothing glaringly deceptive here.

Wow. Motorcycle photoshoot is HAWT. These two need to collaborate again in a modern drama. I swear, ZY just looks so compatible and matches well with every actor.

The plot is getting kinda weird all over the place. So much craziness, violence and toxic behaviors that I've lost count.
