So much discussion on the kissing scene in ep 11. Thought folks were overreacting. Finally, watched ep 11. it’s…
I kid you not, it really exemplifies that. The car braked hard and we all got a good ol' whiplash. Actually, it was more like I was chomping on my juicy burger and it tasted dry and flavorless half way. Was refused a refund and left with a bitter taste in my mouth.

imo novel is much better than the drama even though i did not finish it, bcs there are some details that makes…
This drama feels similar to L&P in some ways. As this drama is purely based on romance, it feels quite lacking in that department especially when it comes to FL, she's suppose to the daring one, the one that flirts and ask for affection verbally. But when it actually comes to it physically, I feel like she holds back and restrains. That's the vibe I get from her sometimes and this doesn't pertain just to kisses. The novel was much more fun to read, it's more detailed and captures their "passionate" love affair.
On Be Passionately in Love Jun 1, 2025
I found the last two episodes very draggy. A lot of flashbacks and also melancholy vibes all around. It also doesn't help that they skimped out on the more intimate scenes. We're getting a very bland adaptation of the novel. So I'm gonna keep my expectations very low in that department, it'll be easier to watch if I have none. And then there's the annoying ML's friend, I find it incredibly intrusive and always butts into people's business, why the heck he had to celebrate that his friend found love and cause problems? He just doesn't he have anything else to do than pop up whenever?

I definitely feel she has the right to not do kisses if she doesn't feel comfortable. Question is more so why…
To your point again, so is it possible for you to make your "own" comment without making a snide remarks about other people in this thread? From what I see, you are directly criticizing others in your own post because they feel differently. You have the right to post what you think, but so do others. I only made a comment after seeing you dissing people for having a different opinion that is not in line with yours.

Man, I don't know if we should go back and forth with them. We clearly have a different set of opinions with them, the majority of this section speaks for it. I've clearly explained my reasoning but they just want to attack and bash every naysayer and cannot accept any form of criticism. Them calling people "weirdos" for this is just immature and truly condescending. Just the tone is quite glaring makes it seems like it's hard to reason with. I stick by my views so far. I'm glad you are so accepting how different people view it. On another note, we are blowing up this thread.

You calling people "weirdos" sound like your the whiner. I watch what I want to watch and judge how I see it. Whether you like or not, you can't police people what they want to watch it or comment just cause it doesn't suit your line of thought. Do I go and tell others to go watch some other show with kissing if they don't like the direction from this one? Who sounds more irrational? Obviously, I don't think you want to actually want to discuss and go straight to just dissing.

Yup that's exactly my point. These half-baked intimate scenes are jarringly bad. Either you scrap it completely or put in effort to do it convincingly following the novel. I'd be fine with none cause there's no expectations then. I honestly detest these half moments because it's deceptive and lazy.

Good call. If you read the novel, you'd be so thoroughly disappointed what the lack of. :-)

I have no qualms with her as an actress, but I don't understand her rationale to accept a script (based on the romance novel) where she knows she wouldn't want to do these type of passionate scenes with what is necessary for this particular show and not expect criticism. I also believe actors/actresses have a role to communicate suggestions and improvise on how to professionally portray characters convincingly. Again, the fault may also lie with the director and his crew or her agency whichever is the case behind the scenes.

To your point, there was no bad kiss cause there was just nothing to see at all. To be frank, I think you came in as some sort of a LHC moral defender while disrespecting other's opinions and subtly expecting others to agree? I also read the other's opinions and they are just express their disappointment with the portrayal, nothing wrong with that, so I see it as constructive criticism from an acting perspective. It's not like they were anti-LHC and attacking her personally.

Gotcha, I wasn't like the kiss scenes is ALL I look out for, I thorough enjoyed up to ep10 with the built up relationship, but in the end, they use shoddy angles to make it appear like they did a passionate scene really raised an eyebrow. I'm definitely not convinced with that cheek peck. Feels like they think we're stupid and knowingly cheated with how the novel rolls. Acting 101, choose roles where she knows she'd do good at or take initiative to challenge oneself 100%, not just a half-baked effort with deceptive angles to lie to the audience OR just simply don't take it on the "romance" genre if she's not comfortable with these scenes. I think the director also has to play an integral part in it. As for the other person having their opinion, it's just how they see things, I don't take it to heart but I do feel they have to look at the whole picture and not just merely frustrated at others and deem them as "obsessed."

It's understandable. It almost feels deceptive in some ways. What's the deal with FL avoiding these intimate scenes?
It's like acting 101. Why say you want to accept a drama if you're not putting in any effort to give it 100%? No offense, bad choice to choose an actress who doesn't do these scenes, this one is on the director.

Yup disappointment after building up the chemistry. Looks like they are playing with angles too. Feels fake though.…
Again, if this drama had a different FL, we'd be seeing an actual done right intimate scene that's more suited for a "passionate" love.

I totally hear you. I'm just interpreting how I see it. That it feels like the crew is cheating us with how they are portraying those supposed kiss scenes but allowing a pecking cheek kiss to slide through. I can't help but chuckle if this is the "passionate" love affair they want us to imagine. Again, not obsession, but how it relates to the novel which I read before watching this show so I came in with some expectations and unfortunately, it fell short. I will continue to watch but won't hold my breath that they will stop with the fake camera angles again.

It can go both ways, she could have looked at the script and not accept the project cause it has intimate scenes. She didn't reject it who knows why. It's probably her agency's problem or the director of the show too. I could care less if she was doing a horror or thriller action sci-fi show if they incorporate no intimate scenes but the premise of this show and if you read the novel, you'd know the details of why there is some sort of anticipation, not obsession, purely based on the genre and supposedly based on the book. Everyone has a different opinion of how to interpret this, to each their own, but I'll leave it at that.

i respect liu haocun for not doing something she doesn't want to forcibly. girl doesn't want to kiss and no one…
I definitely feel she has the right to not do kisses if she doesn't feel comfortable. Question is more so why she even accepted a romance genre if she isn't comfortable? She could pick out another genre and excel at that too. But the issue is that she accepted this script knowing that this romance drama has potential intimate scenes, it's also very detailed written in the novel. Then the audience anticipates and she doesn't live up to those expectations so it becomes sort of like a disappointment. Even the title/synopsis they are selling is "passionate in love" or "passionate love affair." You can't just do fake scenes like that and think it looks convincing.

Ah based on todays ep, its confirmed. No real kisses in this drama either ig. At least we get cheek kisses 😭…
Yeah utter disappointment like what the heck was that lol. If only I hadn't already read the novel, I'd probably be ok with the fake kisses but the novel and the synopsis and even the title that says "passionate love" with those crucial parts left out.

they literally cut the kiss scene 😭😭😭
Yup disappointment after building up the chemistry. Looks like they are playing with angles too. Feels fake though. Looks like they are selling a half-baked product.
