@SoDramaTic you said it all. Thank you.
Haha, you're welcome. I must have been frustrated after seeing that scene of BDE and her so-called "oppa" acting cute with one another in ep 9. I expected the chauffeur to puke but what did he say? Undying love?? Jinjja? Museun!! (my foot)

So far I find neither the story nor the characters interesting. The 2 sisters... the president and his sister... 🙄🙄... all acting like overgrown babies. The only character I find tolerable is Ji Chang. Just waiting for the ML to appear, then decide.

No repentance was the correct word. Hyun Woo had caused Do Jun's (himself) death and he had forgotten about it…
Yes, there's nothing about the real Do Jun in the drama and it's not reincarnation/time travel but a dream.

Emotional Effect:The journey and character development for a character to get his revenge is what is most beautiful…
Maybe I'm the oddball here but I just see it as, after living as Do Jun and undergoing what he underwent, Hyun Woo finally mustered the courage to not be a bootlicker anymore and to do the right thing by playing the recording in court and finally nailing the family - something Prosecutor Mo strove very hard to do but failed time and again. So finally revenge was taken and the grim reaper wears black no more.

Wow, you read the novel? I'm impressed. You read Korean?

While watching the drama, I did some Googling and stumbled on this piece that said RR is one of the kdramas with the worst ending. I couldn't resist and read the spoiler. It said that it was all a dream while Hyun Woo was in a coma.

At that time, I did consider whether to continue or not, but I'm glad I did. I'm one of those few who doesn't find the ending that bad. At least the family stepped aside and didn't get to continue with their greed at SoonYang. They didn't get married but I just took it that the filmakers think that they needn't be so explicit. After all, they did meet again and her interest was piqued.

To conclude, maybe it's because I didn't read the novel, so I just watched with an open mind and liked it 😊

Do Jun's ability? His amazing business acumen even at such a young age. His grandfather, who is a self-man tycoon, feels that Do Jun is the one most like him among his children and grandchildren. I believe that even without Hyun Woo's foresight, Do Jun was himself very brilliant, which is why his family wanted him gone. He was not the heir. He wanted to buy over SoonYang with his own ability.

Thanks for sharing. I guess I was too hung up on the revenge aspect; as in Hyun Woo succeeding in taking revenge on the family both for himself and Do Jun.

I just finished watching this drama and I must say, it is Good! 👏👏 Jin Do Jun certainly is a force to be reckoned with alive and in death. He has the power to avenge his own untimely death through another person 20 years after the event.

I also have a newfound admiration for Song Joong-ki as an actor. Somehow his cool and calm demeanor reminds me of the young Tom Cruise. They could have cast a younger actor for this role but they chose him because they believed he could pull it off really well, which he did. I like the gesture he always do with his mouth (don't know the word for it). It's his trademark.

In the final episode's last five minutes, as Yoon was driving across the bridge, shouldn't the word be Retribution rather than Repentance?

This chaebol story that is said to be loosely based on the Samsung and Hyundai conglomerates also got me reading up about their stories. Good job to the web story writer who first came up with this story!

I think it's Oh Chang Seok but he hasn't made his appearance yet
Too early to tell but the tag says personal assistant ML, so I'm guessing that will be Oh.

This is the third Song Joong-ki drama that I'm watching. I didn't complete the previous two, not because I didn't think he's a good actor, but I didn't like the stories. But this I like. I'm only at episode 5 though. I find it amazing that at 36, he was very convincing as a 20-year-old. Perhaps that's why he was cast in this role. The actor who played his grandfather in the drama was 53 then, and also very convincing 😅😅

Even in the context of a daily drama (you know they'll always be a certain level of bad), this was genuinely awful.…
I also think returning the USB drives were a tad unnecessary but in this drama it probably serves three purposes:
1. to create suspense - you wonder which side the prosecutor is on;
2. to give Giyun maximum public humiliation (global) by first earning his trust;
3. to warn criminals against wearing smartwatches (just kidding)

But I think they want to bring in some high-tech sleuthing into the drama. The writer must have read it somewhere and said, "Hey, let me include that in my Elegant Empire. Maybe the viewers will like it while the older ahjummas would be scratching their heads wondering wth is deepfake and smartwatch functions."

But, in reality, is there any point in taking revenge? It doesn't bring back the dead and undo the past. Would we be better off leaving the wicked to commit their sins? Sooner or later they will dig their own graves. By seeking revenge, even more collateral damage is caused (Woohyuk's mum, Na Seung Pil). In a way, Oh Na Hee is smarter. She just moves on with life and looks for her own happiness. But had SHJ and Jaclyn think that way, then we won't have a drama.

Besides the inconsistencies you mentioned in the last episode, I have another to add. If the brake was tampered with, does it stop functioning immediately or at the most crucial moment? Tak Sung Gu truly has great mechanical knowledge to know that it will malfunction there and then, besides him having great intuition that Giyun would be driving there.

Oh well, it's just a story and we all know that.

The Two Sisters. According to the synopsis it's a tragic story with revenge too.
Trust me, even my mum got addicted to it 😂 After that, I recommended her the famous Hometown Cha Cha Cha and she found it dead boring, just watched 3 episodes. Then I recommended her K2 (bodyguard, a lot of fighting) and she loved it 🤣

Just watch CLOY haha. It's funny and it has something about North Korea. The lead actress is an award-winning actress with 50+ awards that wikipedia is too lazy to list 😂 She also acted in Something in the Rain about an older woman (30's) falling for a younger guy who is her best friend's brother. It's good too but with a lot of kissing and crying.

If you find makjangs irritating, then watch those 16-episode ones like the famous Crash Landing On You. Show Window: The Queen's House was quite ok. It's about extra-marital affair.. a mistress and the first wife and a cunning husband.
