The moral of this story is not to make a decision that you know in your heart is wrong because you have to tell a lot more lies to cover that up and the guilt will gnaw at your soul.
For me, the best parts of this drama are in the middle episodes, before their romance was confirmed. That's when both characters were the most charismatic. Overall, a good office romance drama. I like the Peoplez office setup and the team too.
This won't go down as one of my favourite kdramas. If there's one word to describe this, it is STRIFE. From the first episode right down to the last, it's Strife all the way. It's even written on all the actors' faces π
The FL had a few great opportunities to bring down the old guy, but she (or the writers) just want to do it the hard way. She would let him go only to clench her fist later to say that she wants to give it back to him manifold. But in the process, her biological mother and her boyfriend had to suffer a lot. She just has this roundabout way to seek revenge. In the end, when she finally got the revenge she craved for, I've already lost interest and can't feel her triumph.
For me, this is one of the better dramas because I find it less stressful to watch. It does have its dramas too (otherwise it won't be a kdrama π), but I find that they didn't overdo it too much.
The ML and FL are new to me; I've never watched their dramas before. I find that they're not the super attractive type, quite ordinary looking, but they are pleasant to watch, so it's good. At first, the FL's cousin-in-law was sickeningly persistent about wanting the ML to be her boyfriend, but halfway through, she had a realisation and changed her attitude. From that point, I liked her.
The old man is quite funny to nickname his DIL (the ML's stepmum) "stiletto". The FL's mum-in-law is not very understanding, but it's understandable as she lost a son through the ordeal. The little girl in the drama is also a good and cute little actress!
The chief villainness in this drama is the chief contributor to all the Secrets in the House. She's sooo mean and sooo good at twisting and turning her words that, sometimes, I just want to spank her π It's just as well that, in the end, she was the recipient of her own evildoing π Her son is just as sickening as her, so together they make a loathesome pair in this drama π‘ Thankfully this drama has a likeable and upstanding ML to balance all that evilness. I just feel that she needn't go through all that trouble to hide his mother in the first place because: 1. She didn't die in that accident 2. She has dementia anyway π€·ββοΈ
I just finished this series despite having read the comments here before I started watching. With all the negative things said, I watched while bracing for the worse.
My verdict? It's good π jinjja. Now I don't understand why everyone thinks it's so bad.
The story is logical and it flowed along nicely. The only snag is: it has a sad ending. But I understand why the writer did that. She didn't want to be seen as promoting an inappropriate romance/relationship.
But, actually, I don't find it that inappropriate. It's not incest. He's not even her step-father, just a kind guardian. The age gap of 15 years is not exactly unheard of. So, to me, there's nothing so sinful there.
The supporting roles are interesting with two happy marriages. I like the uncle. The actor did a good job portraying him. The story did drag along a bit and it was exasperating to see the evil old lady get her way no matter how many bad deeds she did. But that's why it's a makjang.
I actually thought that her wrongdoings will prevail up till the end, but thankfully, no. If it did, then the drama is a waste of time like what everyone here says.
At last, I've completed the drama. I guess I'm pretty satisfied with how things ended given all the circumstances.…
Yes, I kept feeling that "Red Balloon" is a bit forced. Well, only 3 pairs of characters were cheating. Thankfully the parents were spared :p But the thing is all the cheating happened between members of 2 households. How unlikely is that? It can only be a Kdramaa...

If I remember correctly, the doctor part was left hanging just like that. He became unattached, that's all. I'm happy with that becoz I didn't want him to couple up with the mistress.
However, the overly obedient older guy who is a Seoul U grad finally gained the trust of the father-in-law and took over the business. Good for him.

Gee.. I have pretty short-term memory of these dramas, but this is what I remember.
Eun Gang finally got her dream job of becoming a teacher but she resigned soon after because she felt ashamed of being an adulteress. She went to a rural place to teach and found peace and happiness.
Ba Da not only found out about the affair but how Eun Gang betrayed her at work too. However, in the end, the two became friends again, and Ba Da did not reconcile with her doctor hubby.
Eun San also didn't become a couple with the older guy although the two acknowledged how much they liked each other. I suppose the writer doesn't want to be seen as condoning adultery. That's why, in the end, all the affairs ended, including the older guy's wife's affair.
I'm close to the end of this drama. I loved it when the wife humiliated both of them, but now, he chooses her??? I hate it. As the series progressed, I dislike her more and more, that conniving witch π‘π‘π‘
Such a beautiful, touching tale. Little Q really tugs the heartstrings. Love it so much. πΆπΎ I guess it's not easy to get a dog/dogs to act according to the script but Little Q did it so well, that's why it's so good.
what do mean there isn't??? dandan's stepmom made my blood pressure the highest in my whole life
Maybe it's because I've seen worse, so I find the bitchiness in this drama somewhat mild. A drama cannot be devoid of bad characters, otherwise it won't be a drama anymore π
It's because Sol runs to the past and Sunjae runs to the future to be with eachother(Sorry it was phrased alot…
Yes, rewatching helps, but for me, there are too many good dramas and too little time, so I give everything one go only regardless how good it is βΊοΈ Cheers and see you around!

Thanks again, and I will check out the link. I must commend you for catching everything, including those details about the watches. I must have slept through all that coz I completely don't recall π

Thank you so much. So nice to have folks like you to counter-check stuff with π I just finished watching the last half an hour of the drama. The appearance of Eclipse during the nephew's party is so Kpop-star-like. The ML does give off that kpop star vibe β¨οΈπ The ring under the petal is sooo romantic. But from the end credits, we can see they cut off some scenes (wedding).
I was too engrossed watching to bother about the dates and how many times she went back and who's watch it is π At one point, she said "this is my last time coming back". How does she know? Because she doesn't have anymore watches?
