im going to be honest here, and i know this will sound mean, but jin hee is too handsome to be with jee soo. he…
I think they look good together honestly. Much more natural than a 15-20 year age gap which is so common in the industry. Its definitely fine with noona/ajussi dramas where that is the intent, but its kinda refreshing to have him in a role where he is primarily a father and is paired with someone his own age. Seems like in his career he has been paired with a lot of younger actresses, but I like the mix up. Also, honestly Jee Soo looks great for someone in their 50s who is in a role which isn't meant to be super sexualized.

I understand both parties, I do feel bad for the dad as much as i do for his family.. I mean he's obviously trying…
I think the biggest problem is his intention/goal appears to be to get back together with his ex wife/family, not make amends for his past mistakes regardless of whether he ends up being a part of their lives or not. Coming in declaring he'll get back with them and using money to do so isn't the most commendable way. Obviously its a drama, so it wouldn't play out like this, but it would be a lot easier to empathize with him if he came back, formally apoligized and offered to help them financially by fulfilling what he could have paid in alimony, lessening the burden on the family and Mi-Rae especially. Whether they'd actually accept that, who knows, but doing that without the expectation of reuniting the family would be a better way to fix everything.

Why is the daughter so nasty to her father? she must support him because he failed at many businesses, not hate…
I think it is overblown to some degree, but in her eyes he repeatedly failed his expectation as the head of the household by continually making irresponsible decisions which severely impacted her mother and family. Them separating from him also made her believe she had to fulfill the role of the head of household (which should have been the moms role the moment she didn't take alimony if we're being honest). It certainly is way too severe that they wouldn't investigate/look into his supposed death/not attend his "funeral". But since he has been back he hasn't really actually apoligized or tried to make amends to his actions, rather he has basically come in flaunting/expecting to buy his way back into the family and vowed to seduce her mom without actually taking responsibility or addressing any of the issues as to why they split in the first case. Obviously this will be covered over the 16 eps and won't be rushed into the first four, but I can see why she wouldn't want him to come back and shake up their family and would view him in a very negative light.

I was looking fwd to this but JSM character is already annoying me lol the chaos, the neck locks, the banter,…
Its the opposite for me. I first saw Yun Ji On in Be Melo and he was a very positive/funny character in that, so it was jarring to see him as the bad guy/in a villain role.

Damn, seems likes a lot of people don't like the FL similar to how the early comments were in The Atypical Family. But in both cases I like the FL. Seems like the main reasons people are against the FL are 1. The general unethicalness of her study with the ML as a subject 2. Her choice to lie to the ml, without knowing the consequences 3. The fact that she has romantic interest in another character, and has also made a connection with the brother who people are also not super fond of (which again I don't really mind the sml).

As for the unethicalness of the study and ML as a subject, this wouldn't happen irl, for several reasons, 1. Experiments on human subjects require extensive testing/auditing by an MRB before being conducted. 2. The patient would have to give informed consent to be subject and would know they are being studied. As both these rules are broken we as the viewers have a general distaste for those studying and the proxy consenters as we know the study is not ethical. However, as this is a drama and a plot device, I am willing to give the FL a pass as in the fictional world of the drama this type of study is somehow legitimized.

As for her choice to lie to the patient about their past, while obviously not the correct choice from a medical/ethical perspective, the FL gets credit as her driving force decision wise is in her perceived best interest for Gun, even if we know it is a very irresponsible choice that may lead to him being hurt. Her character is flawed, and she makes the choice even though she knows it is wrong because she believes it will be in his best interest.

As for her liking the other doctor/having a positive relationship with the brother I think both of these are perfectly okay. She has liked the scumbag doctor for a while which she is entitled to do. As for interacting with the brother, she has been a pillar of stabilty for him, helping him treat his mental illness and has been a positive influence on him leading to his feelings for her. I don't really think she has crossed the line/deserves the hate/slut shaming that some people have commented.

Her character reminds me a lot of the FL in I am Not a Robot, who similarly lies to the ml, but most of her decisions, while flawed, come from a geniune desire for the well being of the ml and will lead to the ml being severely hurt. But maybe I'm a weird massochist, but I like dramas where the leads may inadvertently hurt the other, thinking that at the time they are making a decision to protect them. The FL seems very human to me.

The supposed lack of Crime/Mystery/Thrillers is a pretty cold take in my opinion. In the past 2 years all of the following dramas have been released.
The Glory 1 &2
All of Us are Dead
Moving
Little Women
Death's Game 1 & 2
Bloodhounds
A Shop For Killers
The Worst Evil
Revenant
Taxi Driver 1 & 2
Blind
Flex X Cop
Through the Darkness
The Kidnapping Day
The King of Pigs
My Dearest

If anything it is just that the average quality of romcoms has decreased substantially over time. In 2015-2019 pretty much every year would have 5-10 solid romcoms with decent plots, which didn't peter out or drag on horribly, whereas in recent years it is rare to have 5 solidly good rom coms in a year cycle, and the ones that miss miss a lot harder than they used to.

pls give it to me straight, is it good or nah?
It was fine, but nothing to write home about so far. Most of the focus has been on the present/past situation of the family, with very little screentime between the fl and ml. Similar to Not Others, I am much more invested in the fl/ml arc, rather than the family reunion aspect. Hopefully the fl/ml get more screentime moving forward.

He's not sad because it's his first love, he's actually frustrated with his family how they treated him over the…
Yeah I get that through his point of view it was the last straw. But I do think him fixating on his childhood crush as his last hope is not a very healthy thought process, and if his childhood crush and the brother truly like each other now as consenting adults its kinda a weird spot for them too to have to feel guilty for that.

Unless we get more context about his brother "stealing his first love" doing something shady, I don't really feel like the brother is in the wrong for dating someone that his brother had a crush on in childhood. I think the brother/fam definitely treated him like shit, but I'm not convinced the brother seeing the first love is out of line, but who knows I'm sure we'll get more backstory.

This is surprisingly good, and in 2 eps it has hit on an emotional level which other dramas don't do in 16 eps. I'm really optimistic about the ml x fl relationship as the fl appears to be genuine and kinda dorky at times. Seems like the endgame will be the ml to regaining his memories, but having the fulfillment at the end that he is a person who has value and deserves to be loved.

Yun Ji On's mullet is fire. Need more dramas with MLs with longer hair. I feel like bowl cut style hair cuts look really bad. Almost every actor I've seen with longer hair in kdramas looks better that way, ie. Kim Ji Hoon, Yoon Kye Sang, Shin Seung Ho.

The 2ML just gets on my nerves for some reason.
To be fair I don't think this 2ml has really done anything annoying. Pseudo stalking for one day is pretty much the only sketch thing he's done, and from his perspective after witnessing supernatural events its not crazy to have curiosity. We'll have to see the direction they take it. I think his relationship with Im Sun has been very wholesome and in a situation where he feels isolated she has been there as a calming force. I'm hoping him finding out about her true identity doesn't result in a love triangle, but it low hanging fruit so it probably will. But on the other hand I could see a situation where Prosecutor Gye misinterperets the situation and then the 2ml just ends up being a confidant and friend who can help her hide her identity rather than a love interest. It seems he is still dealing with some mental health issues/ptsd and I'd rather see her continue to help him get to a better place than have some stereotypical cringe 2ml love triangle.

Please don’t tell me Kwon Yul is actually a psychopath🌚 I hope not. It seems this is just a romcom.
I don't think he is. I just think he carries some prejudice based on his experiences. He always seems to get the bad guy role. I'd rather see this one go towards a ML/2ML bromance rather than a clingy/overprotective 2ML but we'll see how it shapes up.

She got on my nerves so much in Bckstreet Rookie. I don't know if I can handle her here...
I think most her previous roles shes been typecast as the bitchy/clingy ex/2fl which I think she'd played well, but I think a more positive/endearing character like this drama/Work Later, Drink Now is right up her alley. Definitely give it a shot.

She was really good in drink now work later, definitely deserving of this lead slot.

They love the idea of fated partner. The one and only. It's why a lot of their MC are "virgin" (even kissing)…
Yeah thats fair, tbh I don't mind it if the leads are aquaintences in youth or high school, just the idea of fate/fated partner and also past lives... which is like everywhere isn't my jam. Minor Spoilers, for instance in Into the Ring we learn that the leads were childhood friends, but it isn't anything more than that. Honestly speaking though, I think it would be refreshing for a drama ty subvert the idea of fate/soulmates in general, but perhaps kdramas aren't the medium for this.
On My Sweet Mobster Jun 13, 2024
Seems like from the synopsis and the setup that she is going to misunderstand the prosecutor as her childhood friend when in reality it is Ji Hwan. Honestly, I know it isn't going to be the case, but I wish that the prosecutor was her childhood friend and she just met Ji Hwan as an adult. I really can't understand the obsession with childhood connections into found romance in kdramas...It'd be better if she just wasn't hung up on someone from her childhood and found someone in her adult life she liked. Wish that one of these days instead of playing into the childhood/fate/reconnection thing a drama would subvert our expectations on the childhood trope.

When is episode 11 coming out on Netflix?
I believe last week was 8:30 PST, so an hour and 15 from now. But some dramas have released at 7:30 PST. Maybe check in 15 minutes, and if it isn't up should be up an hour from there.
