100% agree! Couldn’t have said it better. I’m also enjoying the trope of overbearing CEO and it’s fun to…
Yeah for sure, I'm enjoying the drama myself, and I think among the "tropy" kdramas it is clearly the best and I'm totally fine with how everything has played out. Idk why, but i just got irked reading comments about how Hari didn't deserve Taemu (but I think a lot of it was from the episode 8 spoiler bait haha). I feel like episode 8 is pretty similar in structure to episode 5. In episode 5 Taemu has a shocking realization, Hari lied and is his employee, has an impulsive reaction, bullies her to the point where she makes a powerpoint to keep her job, then there is a turning point where he realizes his feelings. In episode 8 Hari has a shocking realization, Taemu's feelings are real, an impulsive decision, doesn't know how to react so she rejects him, then has a realization of her true feelings. If we're giving Taemu a pass for that we definitely deserve to give Hari one too.

Why Hari's decisions are fine and justified: a case.

With all the Hari hate going around I figured I would make the case as to why it isn't justified in my opinion. First of all, we are all okay with accepting Taemu's actions, despite the fact that there is a power dynamic in their relationship because were bought in and are okay enjoying the universal fantasy of the overbearing CEO. But in reality, he has used his position of power to basically dictate Hari's life without her having any control/say. He basically blackmailed her into being his fake girlfriend, bullied her after finding out her identity, and further controlled her actions with things like the business trip and forcing her to spend time with him with the excuse of being paid back.

Again, I'm okay with this because I'm bought into the tropiness of the drama, but in the entirety of the plot, Hari has had no power to decide anything herself. Everything has been dictated by Taemu and Yeong seo's actions. Finally after the confession she is given the opportunity to make a decision for herself and it makes sense based on the plot so far and her position in general, that she would be weary and want to take some time to decide. First of all, it hasn't been that long since the confession and Taemu is super aggro with things like I want to marry you etc. Hari has been in a one sided love and has little dating experience too. Also, if were willing to accept the trope of the overbearing CEO and his dictating actions, we should also accept to trope/reality of a "normal person" being weary of entering into a relationship with a chaebol. Her character probably has worries like, what happens if I break up with the president of my company? How will other people react to me dating the CEO. How will our difference in status affect/alter my life. Hari definitely has flaws, don't get me wrong (compulsive lying cough cough), but I feel like even if she decided she didn't want to date Taemu, even if she liked him it would be totally justified in her position. Obviously we don't want that as drama viewers, but I feel like it is worth the consideration.

people who are annoyed bc of hari's reason for constantly rejecting taemoo just seem like they're not trying to…
Yeah, I can't stand the take the Taemu deserves better. Obviously the whole overbearing CEO is a universal fantasy that the drama is playing into, but he basically blackmailed/coerced her to be his fake girlfriend and then bullied her when he found out she worked at his company. Then he inserts himself into her life by "saving her" as her fake boyfriend. When you look at the plot objectively she hasn't had any choice or say in any of this, so when she takes an episode or two to be able to make the choice for herself everyone is thinking she is crazy for not immediately accepting his feelings. idk...

Unpopular opinion, but I'm actually glad this show is 12 episodes instead of 16. So many rom-com kdramas drag towards the end, and this drama doesn't have any of the major conflict points other dramas have (ie, disapproving parents, big misunderstanding, other plot besides romance which needs resolution) so I can't really imagine what another 8 episodes would look like. I actually think 12 episodes is about right for most romance-focused dramas.

Well, her brother told him to go into her room to look for ointment, and then he spotted the title of the document…
I'm there with you. It is a bit of an invasion of privacy reading it, but I feel like his reaction is totally justified whether or not he has feelings or is just Ha-ri's close friend. He literally found something which implies she is being exploited/blackmailed by her boss. But also, fuck you Min Woo.

He loved her from the start. He kept dating other girls to make her jealous, so that she made the move instead…
Honestly in the webtoon he uses that as an excuse for when he gets jealous, but he is actually super toxic. It will be interesting to see if the drama follows similar suit.
