Fantasy genre use of non-linear storytelling isn't for everyone and I've found the negative comments reflect it. Flashbacks can be overused, leave the viewer even more confused.
Some viewers have biases they can't overcome: sad, open endings, infidelity, love triangles etc.

Mom said to the lawyer, she had affection to give but her husband, son were too busy.
Mom, Hong Jo are similar in being strong, silent people that would bring comfort.
People write reviews with or without passion.

From reading through your review, it would be also true in your case.
