The more I watch DWY I'm reminded of Secret Garden with both leads having hurdles to overcome.

Fantasy, drinks, non-linear storytelling, ML's irrationality in his pursuit of crumbing the walls of the FL. The secondary characters opposed to the coupling are ultimately thwarted.

ML becomes infatuated very early while FL is in denial of her feelings. Both shows FL has a one sided crush that is slowly unwound by the FL/ML.

They were destined to be together.

FL comes across as competent Municipal employee who's earned the respect of citizens that alienated her petty colleagues. Her personality is adorable.

FL reminds me of Secret Gardens Gil Ra Im without the violence. Both FL have a one-sided crush on 2ML but ML wins them over.
