How can a psychiatrist use the word "crazy" and not realize how oppressive and ableist that term is?…
So glad to see that others agree with me. Yi Seok made me drop the drama a few episodes in. He wasn't a good psychiatrist and I felt like he was taking advantage of Hong Do.
I watched this one a while ago and it's still the best Chinese historical drama I've ever watched. My only complaint is that Wallace Huo is a very wooden actor. He seems a lot more animated and charismatic in real life so I don't know if it's just an acting choice but he acts stoic in everything I've seen him in.
In the end I think the writing for the plot and some of the characters could have been better. I would say the good was better than the bad and Jeom Soon's cuteness alone makes it worth the watch.
I thought this film was wonderful. It really sheds light on how people with disabilities are treated differently when they should be treated the same as everyone else.
I don't think the ending was as bad as others think it is. Was it open to interpretation? Yes. But I personally don't think Mu Le died. And even if he did die we know that they lived a world full of magic so they could always find a way to bring him back somehow.
Hi! I was searching for a kdrama with a strong/great FL and a weaker ML who loves her... And I was recommended…
I wouldn't say that the male lead is weaker here, they are both strong characters. I would recommend it though if you like stories where the female lead grows a lot as a person.
This was okay. I was annoyed by the female lead. I do think that she matured somewhat but she never really became a good spy like I thought she would. The ending was also a bit lackluster to me.
Like others have said, it's a good show with a bad ending. Junichi and Ryo were fun to watch though so I'm glad I watched it even though I hated the end.
I LOVE Jeon So Min, but her accent in this is a little annoying....
Pretty sure she's overenunciating. It's not as bad as Dick van Dyke trying to do a Cockney accent in Mary Poppins but that's what it reminds me of. If you compare his accent to a real Cockney person you can tell that Dick is laying it on thick. That feels like what Jeon So Min is doing to me. I do like her as an actress, maybe it's just for comedic effect? But it doesn't sound very natural.
I'm pretty sure this is the show that has made me the most furious which is quite a feat. It also featured my most hated character ever who treated his whole family like scum between his toes. Only watch it if you enjoy seeing a main character act virtuous to the point of stupidity.
I watched this when there were still fan accounts on Viki. I spent half the series feeling bad for the main actress because she had very obvious ringworm on her face. It was distracting because in one scene she didn't have it and the next she did. I'm not sure why the makeup team wasn't able to cover it well. Other things that bothered me were the main female lead being annoying and the plot being a bit nonsensical. This is one of those shows that's fun to watch if you don't think about it too much.
This drama reminds me of the first time I watched the Break-up thinking it would be a lighthearted rom-com or…
Oh my gosh I thought the same thing when I watched The Break Up! I hated that movie. I guess this show and that movie are a lesson in waiting until something has finished airing so you can read reviews to know not to waste your time.
This drama was good at the start but it went off the rails quickly. Don't go into this thinking it's a romantic comedy because it's more melodrama than anything.
Ever since I first read about Crown Princo Sado I've found his story quite tragic. Even after his lifetime mentally ill people were thrown in institutions and left to rot. Luckily there has been a lot of reform since the late 19th/early 20th century, with the help of people like Nellie Bly and Dorothea Dix, so mentally ill people can get the help they need now. Though there is still a social stigma against mental disorders that I hope will get better with time.
I dropped it at episode 60. The actors who played Do Hyeon and Ha Na had such great chemistry, I believed they were in love. It was a stab in the gut to see Do Hyeon marry Ra Hee.
I found out after dropping the show that Park Han Byul and Jung Eun Woo dated for a long time after this show so no wonder they had amazing chemistry since it was real!
I'm now at ep 74 and can't help but feel bad for Do Hyun! He was prepared to love Hana even thinking she was a…
I watched until episode 60 and as soon as I saw that they made Do Hyun marry Ra Hui I cried because I like him so much. He and Ha Na made such a good pair and the actors had so much chemistry that I decided to drop the drama and pretend they ended up together haha.
