Hints of it later in season. The convo btwn emperor/ FX dad/CPP about how they strategized FX to get the secret from XE. They started taking about what’s more important, the kingdom / FX / the temple where FX’s mom is from / the emporer. You can sense CPP’s nervousness/fear around the emperor and being ever so careful about his response.

True true. These characters are getting developed and are not one dimensional. That crown prince! First season, you thought he’s all ceremonial and proper. Now, we see another side of him. I’m actually more fearful of him than the 2nd prince.
