Ep 10 - wow, loving the care that they put into the make up. Chai Jing’s make up looked amazingly real.
Also, the costume director has done a lot of popular dramas. In this drama, the clasp on her collar is exquisite. The way it detaches. Yeah…I’m into the visual details.

Haha… I was wondering the same! Plus he’s supposed to be poor and mom sews fish nets (no blacksmiths in th family), so how can he get his hands on that weapon? TEMU?

‘I have never been a gentlemen’ - hahaha…honestly, I think it would have been cooler if he were more expressive in that scene. The hands could’ve ‘acted’ more. 🤭

Ok, so I rewatched ep 40, around 36 min and ep 1 @50% speed. It’s not clear. We see him drawing the arrow. We see an arrow shoot through her. In the distance, it appears he lowering his arms. The she turns around. He is still holding the arrow. So I don't know now.

I think it was the last ep. Talk between Fl and the old woman in N…. country - sorry forgot name or between the ML & FL. But yes - he realized it was her he killed, rushed over and conjured up a spell that brought her back but sacrificed his life. In the rebirth, he lost all memory of his past life.

Officially later but interests much earlier. He makes his intentions very clear early on - flirts with her.

Lol… it takes a few trials but he redeems himeself

It’s been a while and I still LOVE this drama. Just finished Si Jin and it did not capture me the same way this Blossom did. Blossom is great because it’s a love story with family and court politics supporting it. And the love just grows deeper as it progresses. The weakness towards the end for me was the ML started to be a little too dependent on her. He’s a strong and intelligent general.

If you haven’t already - what are you waiting for? I thoroughly enjoyed and still love it. It’s the directing, the cinematography, the costuming, the chemistry, the coolness. When this was airing, everyone was in LOVE with the ML’s gray hair. 🤣🤣🤣

It’s not typical storytelling where we know everything as the audience. Instead the director takes us on a journey along with the main lead (mfl) and we learn as they learn. Def high rewatch value. It pushed two not that well know actors to stardom.

Lots of love went into this drama and I would say it doesn’t have lazy writing for the most part. Remember, though, that it doesn’t have a big budget so do not expect scenes requiring lots of $ (like war scenes).

Yeah - this drama doesn’t dump all the info at once to the audience. We’re kept in the dark like the mls and learn as we go. That’s why I enjoyed it so much. So creative how plot unveils.
