From the previous episodes I was already worried that something very bad would happen to Daon but after watching episode 7, I'm even more stressed and worried for him, even having chills D: I never felt as engaged for the well-being of a character in a BL (btw can we still call this series a BL, it's becoming more a psychological thriller to me lol). But it shows how amazing the writing and the acting are !
And seeing where it's going, I cannot see how it could end on a happy ending for Daon :/ But ngl this would be a ballsy move from the writers to kill Daon, and also a very impacting and emotional one.
The concept is original and very cool to watch ! I like how diverse the cast is, and they all form a great group together. My brain is still processing if they're in this show to get an acting role or to find true love, or both haha. But what I'm sure is that I'm rooting for Pink and Fumi, I love their duo !
I just can't describe how much I love this BL more and more after each episode ! But I'm so worried for Daon. All characters in this show suffer but Daon is the one who carries the most on his shoulders with these 3 men continously begging for his love and with his family issues. I hope he'll have a happy ending with everyone knows who, but I trust the writers for delivering a great ending, no matter what the finale will be.
PS : I don't want this BL to end next week, it's so good and I'm so hooked to it !!
is this good? heard the webtoon plot is not so good...
I had also heard negative things about the webtoon but the series is amazing and keeps getting better and better. It's not a lovey-dovey BL and there are some harsh scenes but the plot is interesting and captivating. Plus the characters have complex personalities, while being different from each other. And the actors all play very well. I highly recommend it :)
The start of this BL was original and promising but in the second half it strayed away and focused on insignificant side characters and stories, therefore wasting its real potential. It was still nice and cute to watch but we've been robbed of the most interesting relationship, which was the one between Tae Young and Sun Bin. I wanted more screen time between those two and I wanted to know more about their backgrounds and their past stories. I hope there'll be a season 2 that focuses more on the relationships and less on the football and the drama, or even better a spin off only centred on Tae Young and Sun Bin.
I'm only at episode 3 but I just want to say that I love Seong Hyeon. He's so pure and so sweet, and his interactions and actions towards Daon are perfect ❤
As a gay man myself, Love in the Big City is the BL (or queer drama, whatever you call it) with the most realistic depiction I've seen of the life of a gay man. 95%, or even 99% of the other BLs are either fantasy stories or depict a beautiful and perfect love story, which is something that in reality happens to one gay person in a million (if not less).
So there's ofc no disrespect at all in your comment ^^
