So far binged watched to EP12….I am not going to pretend that this is storytelling masterpiece, but it’s exactly what I want as cdrama weekend drinking companion. No brain power required to watch it, It has fluff in all the right places, tropes galore, a ML that looks like they have gone through puberty, a FL that is not a complete moron - she is savvy enough to look after herself while just enough clumsy idiot to have those tropey “swooshing save moments” which outwardly we all say we hate, but deep down we all kind of wish we would get princess carried.
I know I have 18 eps to go, and there is plenty of time for disappointment in true cdrama fashion…..but come on writers just give me the happy ending you know I want and I will almost forgive cdramaland for the abomination that was ‘cute programmer’….almost….
FL has such little to no self-worth or self-respect. I couldn’t make through the first episode, I was actually feeling ashamed that anyone should be allowed to think this is ‘cute’. I don’t blame the actors in anyway as it purely how the character is written…I just makes me sad inside. Don’t get me wrong, like any girl, I have no issue in turning off the adult brain and I like little CEO domineering ‘fangirling’ every now and then but this just seems on the level of emotional abuse to me. Also my inner feminist doesn’t scream out loud often but their whole ‘no hiring female programmers’ premise is purely employment discrimination. I am sure there those this their thing and fine but for me can’t switch off my adult brain enough to get through it as much as I want to.
