As someone who’s only watched the drama and have not read the novel, I like XL and TSJ but I will always pick CX over the two. His devotion to XY is truly genuine and sincere beyond words. In the mere world, one needs more than love to survive and to protect the ones they love. CX knew he couldn't protect his family (XY) if he wasn't king. All the sacrifice and torture he went through have built up his resilience and motivation to be even more ruthless to those who dares to hurt his family. CX now is the wounded little CX who witnessed his parents, grandma, and auntie's death. It's his vow to himself to protect XY and those who he loves. Another point to make is, XY does give Jing lover treatment and XL best friend/ soulmate treatment but the bond and chemistry she has with CX is beyond words. It doesn’t matter who it is when up against CX, she will not hesitate to chose CX.

Plot is fast moving but nothing spectacular at this point, up to episode 8 but just like any other Chinese dramas, it takes a while to built up the storyline and characters!
Shi Ying in white is so different and opposite of Wei Ying of The Untamed, it’ll take some time to get used to it!!
what an epic episode 13 is! KDJ definitely delivered! I will say, he needed to be there for the change to happen within the ER and Trauma center. KDJ was the perfect fit for this change in dynamic and peak. I know everything going down is what he and Kim Sabu planned all along. This is Plan A unfolding!
I know I’m a year late but my gah…. I’m so impressed with Wu Lei and Zhao Lusi! loving everything about the series; the plot is steady but not boring. Everyone gets what comes to them fast, there’s no delay in karma! I really like Niao Niao’s character; her logic and reasoning behind each decision she makes. She’s so relatable and her character growth is easy to follow. I genuinely felt sad, happy, and joyful watching her grow! Nothing to say about Ling Buyi, except what a handsome, charming man who just wants to protect the woman and family he loves. I hesitated and was resistant to watch this series for a long time because I’d recently finished Nirvana in Fire and I couldn’t see Wu Lei in any other role but Fei Liu… boy, was I wrong! He’s grown into such a fine young man and acting skills have improve so much!!! I’m so impressed and am looking forward to more of his works!!

For a long time, I couldn’t bring myself to watch it because Wu Lei’s character as Fei Liu is just so baby! I can’t see him in a manly grown up character, but now ai shall watch it!

the tombstone and YXW’s body all happened when YXW died while in Jing Kingdom as TTJ’s wife, 500 years before he knew LSS’s identity. Before becoming an immortal, before merging into the demon god, he was a simple mortal human being who loved his wife YXW. Leaving the tombstones there, in a way, is leaving behind some trace of their love to be remembered. I questioned it too but that’s how I made sense of it. In the end, it was YXW, he fell in love with.
