Yes, I agree they are two different stories but the stories are about the same characters. Yes, the characters behave differently in the two stories probably because they are showing different phases or different episodes of their lives.

Yes, I agree that Sang Yan in the 2 stories behave differently even though they are supposed to be the same character. I think maybe they wanted the character to be just a support character in HL and so wrote it in a certain way. In FF as the character is the ML, he needs to be perfect. I know it doesn't make sense logically but well, it is a story. Rather should I say drama as you mentioned that the original stories are different.

I haven't read the story. I am strictly talking about the dramas. Also, what I mean is that the stories of both the siblings are happening together and not one after the other. By story I mean story of their life and not love story.

In the dramas obviously the Sang Yan's story starts first as he is older and then Sang Zhi's as she was just 14 when she first met Duan Jiaxu. But the 2 love stories are not shown together and are split into two different stories.

First HL was released and then FF. But according to the ages, obviously FF goes further back in time than HL. In FF they have shown Sang Zhi when she was around 8 or 10 years. I am not sure but the story is not about her. It's about her brother Sang Yan.

In HL, the story starts when Sang Zhi is 14 years old and it is her love story.

So when Sang Zhi is in university, both stories are happening at the same time. HL is her story and FF Sang Yan's.

Both stories are happening in the same time line. Example in HL Sang Yan tells San zi that a girl wants to pursue him. They didn't show the girl in HL but we get an idea abut her existence. In FF we see that Wen Yi Fan tells Sang Yan that she wants to pursue him.

Similarly in FF Sang Yan tells Wen Yi Fan that he needs to go to meet his sister in a different city as his sister is dating an older guy. Actually that guy is Duan Jia Su. Sang Zi didn't tell Sang Yan the name of her BF. In Hidden Love we see Sang Yan comes to Sang Zi in a different city and figures out that she is dating his best friend.

So, basically these two stories are happening at the same time.

Regarding his behavior. I guess he acts differently as a brother and as a boyfriend. So in the two stories we get to see two completely different sides of him. This happens in real life too. I have seen people act very childish in front of certain family members but are otherwise very mature when they are interacting with others.

Also, I feel he was always there for SanZi when she actually needed him. But again in HL Duan Jia Su had to shine as he was the ML and Sang Yan was support role. So, his real character was not shown. It was just one side of his character.

To put it simply HL and FF are the stories of two siblings Sang Zi and Sang Yan.

Hidden Love focuses on the love story of the sister Sang Zi and Duan Jia Su. Sang Yan was just in a supporting role as Sang Zi's brother.

First frost is about the love story of the brother Sang Yan and Wen Yi Fan. The characters Duan Jia Su and Sang Zi only had guest appearances.

The characters Duan Jia Su, Sang Zi, Sang Yan are played by different actors in Hidden Love and First Frost. Wen Yi Fan was not shown at all in Hidden love but in one of the Hidden Love Scenes Sang Yan mentions that a girl wants to pursue him. So, it was a hint for the audience that Sang Yan also has a love interest but was not shown in Hidden Love.

This is a marriage of convenience. She got the knows that ML died and their entire family was killed. SML can't have kids. He knew that she was pregnant with ML's child. So he told her the truth and said he will treat her child as his own since he couldn't have his own biological child.

She doesn't love him but respects him a lot. They don't live like a normal couple.

Ok. Though the 1st episode was almost copied from TOL but the actual story is completely different and more gripping than TOLAL.

I think SML is a villain. Just see his expression when he turns back. In that episode where Chu Yi takes Lu Yun back to her in laws house and SML was waiting outside the gate of ML'S house.
