Xie doesn’t have the memories of the past. At least not in the novel.

Me either. Probably because I like characters that’s more complex. We have thousands of perfect self sacrificing male leads already. There’s no need to add another to the list. Watching the array of emotions on Zhang linghe’s face has been a pleasure. Xie Wei reminds me of Ling Buyi from Love Like the Galaxy.

This is why the story is interesting. You don’t have perfect leads. Instead they are morally grey.

To be fair, their bts from the legends definitely shows their closeness. Bai Lu and Xu Kai had chemistry both on and off screen. Not just a “friend” kind of chemistry like with his costars. Xu Kai has the most mesmerizing expressive gaze I’ve ever scene. I also agree that he had great chemistry with Zhou Dongyu. Different kind of chemistry than with Bai Lu but still good.

My my you must have thin skin to jump down my throat for just having a difference of opinion. I’ve been watching cdrama probably longer than you’ve been alive “little baby”. So chill out and go watch something you can stomach. ✌🏼

When you are an immortal… 1500 is practically a baby. So yes that makes sense. If you are new to xianxia type of Cdrama and it’s not your cup of tea then you don’t have to continue. But I will tell you, you are missing out….

I completely feel you. If not for Dylan and Bai Lu I would’ve dropped this drama long ago. But I’ve never been so frustrated with the FL like I’ve been with this character. It’s not even just misunderstandings. The FL straights up lies to the ML about the dumbest things. 😖

This stupid story line about Shu Yi mistaking her ex’s gf as Shi Yan’s niece has gone on long enough! And why does she continue to lie to Shi Yan about the dumbest things??? 😖

I definitely agree with you about just hand waving away the FL’s trauma. It was poorly done. Don’t ever watch Thai dramas then. Especially the older ones. There’s a lot of assault and they just wave that all away.

I’m not trying to put ZZ down nor do I understand what credit am I giving credit to Xie Wei. And I did read the novel. Though the translations was so God awful. And yes he did help her in the past life but the repercussions from that has also kept him away from her in the current life. In the current life they both gave up on each other. Perhaps it’s because of the author that there’s not enough depth to their relationship not in the way of Xie Wei and JXN. For me it felt like JXN’s love for ZZ is more of idolizing him vs truly and deeply loving someone through thick and thin.

Yes Peeta. Perhaps JXN and Zz could’ve worked things out. But they both gave each other up so it doesn’t matter…..

You are correct and I should’ve phrased it better. What I am simply trying to say is everyone is changed by what they experience. Some for the worse and some for the better. Everyone is capable of doing evil things. And it is a choice. I agree about JXN not having any ptsd is wrong but I don’t agree about the author whitewashing the crimes of yan Lin and Xie Wei from the 1st to the 2nd life. How can characters take accountability of a scenario that hasn’t even happened yet. They have absolutely no clue.

First and foremost, most people’s actions is dictated by their experiences. Yan Lin in the previous life did not start off cruel either. It was pushed by the actions of JXN. That’s why despite JXN’s memories she still cared and protected Yan Lin in this lifetime.

Or he can extinguish JXN’s fire completely with his self righteousness.

Many people here probably have not read the novel, so they don’t really know how truly dark he his. I myself did, and I still loved his character.

I feel like every one is going to argue over if they are team XW or team ZZ just like lost you forever (team jing or Xiang Liu) . The comments got pretty heated on that page.

It’s because people root for redemption. If the character is too perfect in a novel, then there’s very little character growth.
