Ah so we have the same directors who filmed The Long Ballad! I really liked that drama (was also a pleasant surprise for me at the time it aired). I can see the parallels between the two series - two strong and intelligent leads coming from different countries but make a great team!
Is in the novel any breakup or misunderstanding there?
No but FSG was constantly jealous over XJS and they fight a lot because of it, they are constantly wary and suspicious all the time. But guess it’s also because FYX was in love with XJS for a while. In the drama she moved on pretty quickly lol
Gotta give it to the script writer for making the changes from the novel. I didn’t read the entire novel but just enough to say that I prefer the leads in the drama version. They are well developed and are more likeable here. I appreciate the balanced and grounded relationship they have built on trust and understanding. FSG is less crude and ruthless, and FYX is more decisive and badass. Dynamics are a lot healthier here.
In the novel, Princess Xiyang wants to marry Xia Jingshi as a marriage alliance for long-lasting peace, after…
Thanks for sharing. I feel like there was so much jealousy and fighting between the leads (and the sister) in the novel because of XJS. Glad they made these changes, it would be hard to like the novel version of FSG. I mean who would like such a crude and harsh player who treats women like that? Even though it was a HE I was still wary on whether he would end up with a harem lmao.
I think the events that play out in the drama help the main OTP’s relationship develop organically. I see their relationship as more mature and balanced here.
I'm glad they made certain major changes during adaptation, when considering the contents of the first ten chapters…
I only read some excerpts of the novel linked in the forum and I can see why ppl like the drama version of the leads more. They seem more developed and layered here. FSG is less crude and FYX is more decisive and badass
Best exchange...loved it!Between FSG and Daddy Emperor. Yeah, my prince is not backing down. Wow! Teaser Ep 15https://www.iq.com/play/fated-hearts-1hgyrac8v28?lang=en_usTeaser…
chen he yi's styling and makeup is much better than ML here,he really looks stunning...idk why they decided to…
I wish they toned it down with CZY’s makeup. I was so distracted by the heavy makeup when I first started watching - from the heavy eye makeup (not sure why they needed this since he naturally has nice eyes that stand out) to the orangey bronzer/contour against very pale foundation. The white undereye makeup threw me off. The hair and costumes look great but makeup could’ve been a lot better
When do you think he started having feelings? I feel like the ep where he goes to save her and the little boy was when things shifted for them (the way he told his comrades they would circle around for a bit before heading back so she and the boy could sleep a little longer was adorable)
The best part about the show is the lead's chemistry and how they are slowly getting close to each other. It just…
Started watching with zero expectations but was pleasantly surprised by the chemistry. Guess the enemies to lovers trope really helps give that spicy push and pull haha
How are the main leads here compared to the novel? Do they have a HE
Does the ML become king and take in concubines) I just read some excerpts of the novel and it’s quite crude and the couple are always butting heads lol I can see how the characters in the drama are better developed.
