This is getting repetitive with the ex. And he claims to care for her but is putting her in harms way knowing…
Initially I felt bad for his wife for how GCS is treating her, but the moment GCS told her about the 2 paths her father forced upon him, it immediately put into perspective his emotional turmoil.

I don't like this character, but I kind of understand why he behaves the way he does.

Jealous Wei Yun is hilarious, the way he treated Gu Chu Shen's wounds!! Watched till ep 16 and have to say that from episode 10 onwards, the story-line is getting more interesting.

While the tempo in the initial episodes might have been a little confusing, now that the backdrop has been set and introduction of the main cast is completed, I must say that this is a good watch.
Looking at the episode teasers, I can't wait for more episodes!

Have you watched it ? Because they aren't really married ...
The FL wanted to marry the Elder Brother but the ceremony was never carried out. The ML's mother appreciates the FL's intentions but felt that the decision to marry should be discussed at a later date after the funeral. After what happened to the ML's mother, it has been in a state of limbo.

She assumes the role as the eldest daughter-in-law mostly as a formality? This is to assist the Wei Family through the crisis and it helps in her investigation to what happened to her father.

In the show, they even mentioned that she technically is not the ML's real sister-in-law.

Is ML weak and naive? If yes then this drama may become little bit dull
In no way he is weak, watch till ep 3-4 and you will realize how resilient he is in the face of injustice. Watch further and you can see he is slowly plotting his steps to gather more information to find out who the traitor is.

He is young, not experienced in the ways of life but definitely not naive. His character is maturing as the story develops.

That sister needs a couple of slaps to get her bearings right
I can't believe 2 upright and intelligent people like Chu Yu and Chu Lin Yang would have such illogical and unreasonable younger sister and mother.

Can only say Chu Yu and Chu Lin Yang took after their father while Chu Jin takes after her mother.

Someone help me out I am confused did fl really like the brother that died,
I doubt she had any romantic feelings with the elder brother but in a way she respected him as a gentleman who did not judge her based on malicious rumours and gossip. Both being from a family of warriors that fought wars, I feel she has a level of respect and understanding towards him who is similar to her brother.

Probably too slow for them
Agree, the drama's pace is adequate and the first few episodes is setting up the characters and background for the overall story. Don't get why people need to be so impatient.

a handful of people left 1star reviews on all 40 episodes prior to them airing. As 99% of people who watch the…
Yah, I feel some of the negativity stems from people comparing the novel with the drama. But rebirth storyline was kind of shadow-banned so I don't blame the writer for having to rework the story.

Reviews and comments here are for people to share their honest opinions and takes about the drama with others. Hope people do not weaponize it...

wow 7.9. is it that bad? or is it like the double that rose later?
It's really not that bad, give it a watch and judge it for yourself. I was concerned as well when I saw the ratings but so far I am enjoying the show.

Probably too slow for them
That's what I feel is the problem with many viewers now, attention span is so short that everything has to be fast paced with major things happening every single episode. Not patient enough to slowly allow the story to play out, and then calling it boring...

Watched the first 6 episodes and so far I'm enjoying the storyline, the back story has been established and now the 2 leads will work together to find out who is the traitor.

Kind of surprised by the overly negative reviews and comments so early into the drama airing. From what I have seen so far, it is a heartbreaking story of 2 families who have lost their family due to traitors working in the shadows. This brings together our 2 leads who want to right the wrong and clear their family's good name.

It's a heartwarming and straightforward drama without excessive dramatics which I truly appreciate. The story revolves around 4 matured adults navigating issues in their lives and it is refreshing that the characters actually communicate their feelings with each another.

The main couple are both somewhat introverts having to face life through their anxiety issues, which is very relatable to me. Whenever Sosuke and Ha Na overcomes an obstacle as small as speaking in front of a group, I celebrate their small wins. Isn't that what life is anyway, everyone silently struggles with their own demons, putting on a brave front in hopes of conquering their insecurities.

I hope Akanishi Jin participates in more dramas from now on, he really is a natural in front of the camera. Hiroshi is depicted as a charming, helpful and kind friend of Sosuke and Akanishi Jin portrayed Hiroshi perfectly, he did not overdo anything that would come off as cringe or unrealistic.

Xia Jingyan the despot emperor meeting his rightful end,his only redemption being that he showed some sliver of…
Ultimately I feel that XJS never really wanted the throne but merely to right the injustice that he faced. He became what he was because he unfairly had his rightful throne snatched away and had to grow up enduring humiliation by his step-brother and being poisoned by the Empress.

It became more of venting his years of pain and anger instead of becoming king. So when that goal was accomplished, he didn't know where to stop.

If this isn't a 10/10 then I'm not sure what will be
This drama did not disappoint from the first episode till the last, the pacing of every episode is masterfully planned, not once did it lose my interest. Every dialogue, plot point and character is not wasted and is there for a reason.

I feel this is the most well-rounded drama in the past 2 years that aced in every department. The entire cast, from leads, nemesis, generals to every supporting character did a fantastic job.

Li Qin (FYX) held her ground as a convincing female general while Chen Zhe Yuan (FSG) was the unfaltering prince that protects his loved ones and deals out revenge for those that deserves it. Chen He Yi (XJS) was the tortured prince driven mad by his step family and Zuo Ye (MRY) was blinded by his pursuit for power. Though Ding Jia Wen (FCY) did not have a major role here, I liked how he portrayed the unwilling king that saw through his mother's lies.

Wooo that’s honestly kinda sad for the lunatic .. but it really shows how good the actor’s vibe and performance…
At the scene where the princess bit his finger, the moment I saw his expression I immediately understood that he was falling for the princess. That's some crazy acting!

It takes great acting skills cause how does one even portray such thoughts and feeling without a single word!!

You said it right but I'm okay with her taken it out on XJS,, that dude is not innocent either, he's cooking something…
Agree, XJS for sure is no white knight, but at least we can understand his motivations. He is the unfavoured Prince that has been poisoned and is constantly humiliated by XJY. His only road for survival is to take the throne.

But FXY? She brought all this to herself, she was the pampered Princess of Susha and was protected by both her brother and father. But she threw all that away just for a crush....

If she was truly mature, she would have accepted that their marriage will not result in love and form an alliance with XJS to find out what happened to her father and brother. Instead she makes things worse by working with XJY and backstabbing XJS. Well it seems she is great at backstabbing people...

Okay, FXY needs to get a serious reality check. Xia Jing Shi can be blamed for a lot of things, but not the "death"…
Precisely! Towards FXY, Xia Jing Shi has always been honest with her, he told her multiple times that he wont be able to return her feelings. When she pushed him to sleep with her, he still was respectful towards her and did not take advantage of the situation. Even after their divorce, XJS politely spoke to her and said she can still find him if she needs help.

When FXY caused the death of Bai Gong Gong and told XJS that he will regret for what he has done to her, I was thinking regret what? He did nothing to her... She is just pissed that her feelings was not reciprocated so now she jumps into the arms of the brother for some kind of power trip and petty revenge.

That is repaying debt of her arrow 😅
I really like how the scriptwriter stayed true of creating parallels between the 2 leads. FL gets whipped, ML gets whipped, FL's close friends betrays her, same goes for the ML. ML has an arrow wound on his chest, now the FL has a wound on hers too.
