In general I enjoyed this drama but I also have some mixed feelings.

Pros: The visuals were amazing, the production level is top notch and the OST is on repeat. The romance between couples & siblings were sweet and lovely. The acting by the whole cast (including guest appearance) were great in general.

Cons: The story feels quite cluttered and at times all over the place. Felt like they wanted to do too much in a single drama, some arcs should have been reduced/removed so that there is more focus to the story. Some of the story's logic is not very convincing. Eg. They went 20 years into the future, knew what was going to happen but somehow at the end, nothing much changed, the team somehow still seemed so unprepared to face Jia Lan.

I think we all expected some tragedy but to be honest some of the tragedy seems forced. But I get that this story is part of a larger universe and a prequel to the Red Moon Pact, so in a way the writers had some limitations.

Jin Renfeng can never not be annoying omw, he was a pain in the arse in RMP, now also here 😤 😭
Tbh his whole plot line was quite unnecessary to the story, the scriptwriters should have reduced this part. It makes an already cluttered story-line even messier.

I felt his whole arc does not add much to the story, he is just a villain for the sake of being a villain. At least Jiu Huo had a reason for doing what he did.

What is better than one Ding Yu Xi? TWO! TWO DING YU XI!

For a guest appearance Ding Yu Xi really outdid himself. The background of Zhang Zheng is very interesting and Ding Yu Xi executed it flawlessly. How did he manage to portray so many emotions and make both characters so distinct from each other.

Can we have a spin off mini series focusing on Zhang Zheng? 2-3 episodes is not enough!!

Not yet - next episode. So far he's been happy-go-lucky and quite likable actually.
The fiance is actually quite funny & likable, rather rare for a "love rival". He simply is coming on the orders of his father to fulfill the engagement, but he does not make things difficult for BanXia, Was kind of hilarious how he initially tried so hard to please BanXia at the lakeside by pretending to "see" things.

The pacing of this drama is amazing, it's already episode 28 but the story is still so thrilling with new secrets to uncover! Not a single episode is wasted.

On the side note, Ren Jialun should do a light comedy drama (like Filter), his comedic timing and expressions are on point.

Ep 13 is a masterpiece!! When I read the novel, this was the part which I anticipated the most, I wondered how they were going to recreate it in the drama. Fortunately, this exceeded way way way beyond my expectations and I really don't think anything else will come close to top it.

The drama truly understood the principle of "show, don't tell"; without having a single word of exposition, the viewers witnessed and understood what happens in that room together with Luo Wei Zhao. The suspense, the sense of foreboding and dread, was almost palpable. Tying it all together is the amazing acting by Zhang Xin Cheng.

It's been months since this drama has ended but I still have not come out of it. I still re-watch episodes and clips of the drama and occasionally watch the Bamboo gang's 寄明月 performance. It just puts a smile on my face.

I love how thoughtful the script was written. Today ep., they show the viewers’ BanXia sharing about her lack…
The way this show has been written is such a breath of fresh air! There actually is a gradual and natural progression of the relationships and characters. I like how Xuan Ye is also slowly opening up to her, being more bold in showing his concern for her.

Hahhaha…welcome on board to our demon tour;)
Now that you mention it, yes all the actors makeup looks natural and realistic in the drama.
Recent dramas tend to heavily filter the actor's skin till they seem to have no pores or have what looks like 5 hours worth of makeup!

I watched first 3 episodes and it's really not bad, I quite enjoy watching this. but one question. does the FL…
I feel that she will eventually change as the story progresses (fingers crossed!).
She is kind of naive now as she is the youngest sister, has been isolated away from society & family for years due to her special "sight" and has been using that fragrance which Xuan Ye says is not good for her.
On The Demon Hunter's Romance Apr 14, 2025
Can't believe that we almost missed out on this gem! I really like the pacing of this drama as we immediately jump into the action from ep 1. The plot slowly weaves in the background of Xuan Ye and Ban Xia all while also naturally building their relationship.

The drama really dives into the world of demons hidden in plain sight, with a slight ghostly and mystical feeling, the bgm adds to it as well. Kind of reminds me of Natsume Yuujinchou but with the demon hunter twist.

Cannot wait for more episodes to drop! Got to say that Ren Jialun really knows how to pick interesting and unique scripts.

FSMMHBP was moved at the end of the month to accommodate the upcoming broadcast of TDHR, which will be airborne…
I am happy that there is some potential progress on the airing of TDHR, but kind of sad that Bamboo Pavilion is being pushed back. I have been looking forward to both dramas for sooo long!

Whats it's have to do with kiss scene? Lol
I don't quite understand why this keeps getting brought up. He does do kiss scenes, maybe just not "enough" for some audiences. Anyway what's important is the story, why are we measuring an actor base on the number of kiss scenes?

What’s wrong with the first part?
Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red Moon Pact
While there were some flaws, overall I enjoyed the drama and the costumes & sets were beautiful. Gong Jun & Wei Zhe Ming were great in the drama.

Red Moon Pact, Love In Pavilion and Sword & Beloved are supposedly part of the same series. While each drama is a standalone story, all 3 are part of the same universe with some loose relations/crossover between each drama.

I think dramas that faced/are facing issues to be broadcasted are those filmed before the ban was announced. Now…
haha I wouldn't know, they are still in the midst of filming. The timeline of cdramas release dates has always been a mystery.

Hoping that with the popularity of the MLs and the DMBJ series, the drama will be broadcasted asap.
