Will this have any airing issues due to the bromance between the main leads? I am kinda afraid s many dramas which…
I think dramas that faced/are facing issues to be broadcasted are those filmed before the ban was announced. Now with the parameters of the ban made clear, new dramas would have written the story that are in line with the new rules. Though it might take some time to air as the Daomubiji series tend to need some post-production.
You guys are so dramatic, I swear. Usually a 'heavily edited' c-drama would be cut by 10 or more episodes, not…
I agree that we shouldn't get so riled up over an edit.
As someone that followed this drama since day 1, continuously checked for months for any melon that the show would continue before giving up back in 2023, being able to have all 30 episodes now is more than a miracle. There are plenty of C-dramas that have been shelved and will never get to see the light of day.
I enjoy crime solving dramas, double male leads and bromance but if some scenes were removed to allow the drama to be broadcasted, I feel it is a compromise we will need to live with. At the minimum, we will get to finally see the story of Pei Su and Luo Wei Zhao, finally we get to see how the crimes and mysteries are solved. If there are any scenes cut out, well we can fall back onto the novel to fill in the gaps.
This is an unexpectedly good drama. The chemistry between the trio is great, no unnecessary love triangles, just 3 friends/colleagues working together to solve crimes.
The drama properly incorporates the 3 departments (Investigation, Fire & Forensics) into each case, how each department needs intel from each other to solve the cases. The cases are intriguing and unique, where I also find myself trying to decipher who is the mastermind and how the crimes were committed. The supporting cast acting as the perpetrator and victims of each case did a splendid job, the case of the 5 students and the lock room is my favorite so far.
The underlying plot between Tong Shen and Shen Ye makes me excited to see how the scriptwriter is going to unravel their past.
it's crazy that people in the comments complain about a 30something year old woman playing a 15year old...but…
To be honest all this nonsense about age gaps is obnoxious. It is 2025, how are we still so shallow with such backwards thinking? This is not the first drama I have seen with people complaining about age gaps, this problem exist in Kdramas as well.
These are actors acting a fictional character, why would you care so much about their real life age gap? How often do actors take on roles that matches their age anyway, hardly ever! All that matters is that they portray the characters well and fits the story.
It is such scrutiny that gives celebrities so much pressure to somehow defy age and time. Does an actor's or actress's career ends just because they are in their 30s? Why must their options be limited? Mind you, most of the popular and great actors now are 30 and over.
Finally a drama that actually bothers to give viewers a proper ending. No open ending, no rushed conclusion, no 2 versions of the ending, no finding out the ending via narration of a supporting character. They pretty much dedicated the last episode showing the ending of all the couples and properly let us know what happened to the main leads after the final big fight.
More dramas need to understand that this is what viewers want, regardless is it a good or bad ending, give your viewers a proper closure to the story. Don't bring the audience through all the trails and tribulations and only bother to give a 20 sec rushed ending with questions on what happened to the main leads.
I really like Deng Wei's acting in this drama and I feel this role showed more of his versatility compared to Lost You Forever. This is my first time see Julia Xiang and her acting is commendable, there was a proper distinction between her 2 lives but yet still holding some similarities.
Just started on this drama, looks promising but I am a little confused with what is happening, like it jumps around quite a bit. I get that it is the exposition phase so trying to connect all the dots that I can get!
War, death and trauma, this drama deals with several heavy topics and did not shy away from it. They could have gone the easy route and give everyone a magical ending but I feel that will be a disservice to the spirit of the drama. We all want our happily ever after but reality is just that harsh and cruel.
Both Chen Zhe Yuan and Liang Jie did a fantastic job portraying people grasping onto hope while suffering from trauma and PTSD. Their love for each other felt real and authentic.
It's a pity to see people giving a bad rating or trashing the drama just because it was not a "happy" ending. A drama is not bad just because the ending is sad, hope people can be more open. You can dislike it, but you can't say it is bad.
I have been waiting for this drama to be released and am now finally getting started on it. Currently, I like the tempo of the show, it gives a somewhat relaxing, heart fluttering vibe and the BGM used is refreshing and fits the show. The way it approaches the storyline feels realistic and not overly cringey or cheesy.
Was initially worried because of avenuex's overly harsh review of the first 2 eps, but my concerns were unfounded. Really loving the drama and going to binge this over the weekend, going to prepare my heart for when the angst starts.
So March 7th is the date it’s released in Japan? But April 3rd is the date that the 9th episode is released…
From what I can gather online:- - March 7th: Drama premieres in Japan (Ep 1) - April 4th*: Expected release date of Ep 9 in Japan (*Barring no changes in the release schedule, currently the program schedule is only updated till end March)
[Some background: The drama's first 8 eps was released on Youku before it got cancelled in 2023, thus the MDL's countdown stopped/froze at ep 8. With the re-release in Japan, the counter has restarted to countdown to ep 9]
Hope this helps! Let's cross our fingers that we can finally get to finish this drama.
The confusing thing is, the counting on this side tells April 3rd not March.
I think because on Japan's side it still has to air the first 8 episodes (that was already aired on Youku in 2023) starting in March. The schedule will line up with Youku's continuation from ep 9 in April (though I'm not sure whether Youku is still airing it or if they have sold the rights).
Can we take a minute to digest the abuse of the fake death scheme in this drama? And it's all condensed in like…
It was so overused to the extent that I felt nothing when the FL cried over the "death" of the ML and his aide. I was thinking, yah yah don't worry, he will be back in the next episode.
The story set up was interesting and characters had an intriguing background, however it was bogged down by cliches and unnecessary plot points.
The first 2/3 of the drama was interesting but it went downhill when the FL returned home. The meddling of each kingdom's ruler and scheming by the FL's family was stretched out and felt pointless. It's almost like the scriptwriters got lost in their own story and veered off in a completely different direction.
With the ML being the Wolf Lord and the FL being a business/weapons genius, the story should have tapped on that for the couple to work together to fight against the odds. But it decide to become a typical "love brain" romance.
The "no communication" trope was so ridiculously forced here. How did they not have a single chance to tell Jun…
Forced is the apt description here. There is no need for the lack of communicating his plan, it goes against logic but I feel the scriptwriters wrote it in so they can push forward to the next plot arc.
Also, I don't really get why she didn't come clean about her identity, he has already told her that he trusts her and has repeatedly put himself on the line to save her. Just explain the situation + she being so young when it occurred, its highly unlikely the ML would blame her.
I loled at this part:FL: Please help me to get home to my familyML Ok, I have already made plans to...FL (cuts…
Haha was just paraphrasing the scene, I do understand Chinese. The point is that she asked for his help to be able to return home (Yannan) but refused to listen to what he wants to say

It might not be your cup of tea but no reason to call it "rubbish"
