This is a watchable drama with an interesting premise and I intend to watch till the end. I am at ep 20 and it…
I loled at this part: FL: Please help me to get home to my family ML Ok, I have already made plans to... FL (cuts him off): I don't want to listen to what you have to say! ML: *walks away*
GIRL YOU ASKED HIM TO HELP YOU..... I don't get it.... Typical miscommunication
This is a watchable drama with an interesting premise and I intend to watch till the end. I am at ep 20 and it seems that it is starting to fall into the usual story line of no communication between the lead couple. Plans are not discussed and secrets kept from each other, hope they clear up the misunderstanding soon.
I feel they could have tapped more into the FL's unique background as a weapons innovator and someone who has lived under the guise of a male persona. As of now, these seems to have been thrown out of the window...
40 episodes and not a single one was wasted, every moment was there for an actual purpose, so that when we reach the conclusion, it all falls into place. Major credit needs to be given to the scriptwriter, this is by far one of the most well rounded and complete xianxia story I have come across in some time.
Both the lead couple were fantastic and the love between them was so believable and natural. Pretty much everyone involved were remarkable, from the strong supporting cast, great OST, props, sets, outfits etc.
The ending is satisfying cause there isn't plot holes and loose ends. There are sad moments but the story justifies why it needs to happen. Those moments are not tragic for the sake of being tragic, it has a purpose and fits the flow of the plot.
This was an unexpected hidden gem! I was all ready for a cliche and cringey plot but was pleasantly surprised at how engaging and interesting this drama turned out. The plot is well thought out and the pacing of the drama is great. Props to Chang Hua Sen and Qiu Hong Kai for their acting.
This is a solid drama! If you like mystery case solving dramas with elements of the supernatural, you will like this drama. It reminds me of the drama - A League Of Nobleman.
Don't pre-judge this drama just because it is 16 episodes, it is pack with solid cases that all ties nicely to the final case and the bigger mystery/mastermind. The cases are unique and the production team has put in a lot of effort in terms of the script, props and case setting.
Wang You Shuo and Zhang Chen Xiao has great camaraderie and works well together. The script also sets both character up where they each have their own distinct skills and goals that nicely fit together as a crime solving duo.
Totally! I thought that was the direction they were going for when FKY appeared and bought Shen Yi's painting. I was waiting for some big reveal but it never happened.
You mean the part where Shen Yi's painting was sliced open revealing a second layer? Nope, that whole part of who was the person that broke into Shen Yi's home and why Shen Yi has such a painting is not resolved/mentioned in S2.
Overall this drama lived up to the high expectations of season 1, I appreciate how the scriptwriters used the initial cases to shed light on complicated issues, usually from a female pov. All the cast, from the main police team to the witnesses, suspects etc all did a fantastic job to bring the cases to life. However, I feel there could have been more interaction between Shen Yi and Du Cheng.
The angle of Shen Yi understanding the criminal's heart is a refreshing take on the genre of police investigative work and is in line with his background and sensitivity of an artist. However, at times they made Shen Yi a little too OP, which makes some parts unrealistic.
I find the plot line of Fang Kai Yi to be quite wasted as they could have more effectively used him to push Shen Yi's moral compass and dilemma that he was facing. They kept hinting that Shen Yi has a "dark" side, but never seemed to go further. Also, the trailer set up wrong expectations as they had scenes showing Shen Yi going "dark" but those scenes never appeared.
The last 5 mins of the show is such a cliffhanger that leaves room for a season 3 (not that I am complaining, though it is annoying).
The story is finally heating up. The initial set up was interesting and the dynamics of Bin Bin working alongside gang members and the police was engaging, The middle 6ish episodes have been quite draggy with not much progress in the plot. Now that the gun is found the story is picking up again! I have my suspicions on who is the main mastermind behind this and it seems like they are going to reveal it soon.
There is no need to judge a drama that hasn't even premiered. Seems strange to dislike a drama even before the first episode is released.
Regardless who is acting, I always give the drama a chance as long as the story line is interesting. Some of the best dramas I have seen are from actors that I don't even know or even low budget productions. Script & acting comes first, not whether you like the actor.
I initially also thought that the casting was a bit weird (I don't hate it, just wondered why), BUT after reading the synopsis and understanding some of the story, the casting choices does actually make some sense.
Anyways, let's all enjoy this drama when it premieres. If you like it then that is a win for you, if you don't, you are welcome to give a constructive review but there is no need to affect the enjoyment of others.
I usually don't in-depth follow a drama this early into the filming cause the agony of waiting is going to be so bad, but the filming clips have been flooding my timeline so quite impossible to avoid hahaha.
I did not read the novel but from the leaked clips and people's spoilers, dang I really really hope there will be some changes to the storyline. It's marketed as a dual ML drama so please I want to see both MLs from beginning to end, thanks!
This is so intriguing! A case of a lost gun is slowly unraveling to be something bigger, it is like we are investigating the case together with Bin Bin and Xing Liang. We are thrown into the case from the get go and with each interaction and flashback we inch towards knowing more. It's only the first few episodes and I am glued to find out more! Who is behind this, why is Wen Bin Bin being targeted and who is the mastermind after? Nothing is as it seems.
Really like how the show very naturally allows us to get to know the cast, their personality and how everyone relates to one another. Ding Yu Xi is so natural here, bringing out the witty and intelligent character of Wen Bin Bin.
Still in the middle of episode 28. Why do I keep thinking that Murong and Liuniang as some kind of doomed yuri…
The funny thing is that Liuniang was already annoyed with ZiQi even before he was born. She kept persuading Murong to not keep the child. Girl is being petty and jealous with a child.
P. S.I want to thank the production for keeping the adoptive brother and sister relationship cleanππππIs…
Yes! I really can't stand love triangles when the 2FL/2ML cannot move on, it becomes unnecessarily draggy and annoying to watch. Having 2 separate couples each with their own love line is so sweet and refreshing to watch.
Ruo Shi was a perfect love rivalry character as he knew when to let go and wished Miao Miao all the best!
With the amount of leaked photos/videos from the variety show filming bombarding my timeline, I think I already know what is going to happen even before it airs. π

Withdrawal symptoms and no other drama can satisfy you.
