And although It's popularity wasn't Massive like the rest, it still did absolutely wl. top of iQIYI ranked dramas internationally. And I'm NOT A FAN OF WUXIA. but it was amazing. My best Cdrama in the past 2 years
Well... I've learnt to never trust trailers lol. so That's the least of my problem. And to consider that they didn't have THAT much time like these two dramas you mentioned that took at least a year to air. This drama didn't prepare much for trailer wise and all

Hidden love...( Most will disagree) was literally the MOST popular Cdrama Internationally. in my opinion the IT drama of 2023. It's popularity Internationally was something Cdrama hasn't seen in a couple of years. it was that big that everyone was literally watching it both non Cdrama fans lol. and it's praise was high and rating flying higher. and most would always Debate it with till end of moon, which in my opinion, is the most popular Historical/Xianxia drama 2023( dropped it so it's my unbiased opinion) But it was grand popular back then and that's why it's being debated with hidden love as the IT drama. But I've done my observations and researches and hidden love was More bigger internationally.
Lost You forever was another big thing this year but MANY will disagree but I think it's popularity was Mostly in China And within the fandom internationally. It didn't leave the Fandom in terms of Popularity, and that was something hidden love did X10 and TTEOM also did ( but not to HL level) So LYF was basically a Fandom thing.
Another show that was wild in my view are. My journey to You. had it's fair share of both international and national fame. And one thing about this show is. if a drama is airing on here..Take a look a top trending drama list and if that drama is amongst top, then you should know it's big. Hidden love during and even after airing was dominating the no.1 spot of Trending drama on here. and When My Journey to You aired it instantly flew to no.1 spot of top Ongoing. Which was enough to say it grabbed attention. and that leaves my argument with LYF, It didn't even make it too top 5 trending during air. or even too 10? idk mysterious Lotsu Casebook was an in fandom thing. It was big nationally and internationally within fandom. didn't leave outside Fandom. Starry Love was an unexpected hit. The dark horse in xianxia. Basically with low budget and low traffic cast, no one expected it's fame but it did so well Nationally and internationally. Basically within fandom tho. There are lots haha. Long analysis
I haven't seen battle through Heavens because didn't seem to like storyline and didn't see s1. Yeah!! Joy of Life S2 has the highest I've seen so far in Cdrama land. And it just finished shooting that's crazy.
actually,no Being a sequel to ALP didn't help this drama reservation and anticipation in most ways. it didn't help reservation because This drama is posed as a stand alone drama and never advertised as Sequel by official sources. So why this Dramas Anticipations is high...I'm sorry to say this..But because of Lusi. She basically is the most popular character Here and with her massive success back to back with drama, and hidden love where she got many fans added to her cue people are Certainly coming for see this one because it's her follow-up drama. so the Drama alone is what's Getting attention and nothing to do with alp.
Hmmm. Actually This is pretty high. haven't seen any Xianxia drama with this. highest I've seen should be TTEOTM of 5 M before release, I think Longest Promise was also High.
I remember back then during Hidden love Era ( It literally had an era lol. The whole drama community knew it's name) It was basically Hidden love Against the whole Ongoing Drama Fandom out there 😔
Hidden love making name for itself by being the HIGHEST RATED and praised light Fluffy, almost plotless but Cute drama Out there. Like I was scrolling through top rated dramas and All basically have crime element or trill or fantasy or something with plot twist or gore. but hidden love standing with them as only simple pure love drama.( alongside When I fly towards you heh) I get why haters are mad. because their thriller gore suspense drama got a 8/10 rating and this on top😔
