Well...Yeah..But not Yeah. As a Versaile person who sees everything I'll agree that Most of the time the storyline is the same..But if you're to understand it in the sense of it being Chinese Mythology... Maybe you'll see why. Because it's basically Their historical, Mythology and belief. so basically they can't insert forgein terminologies in it as they wish. so yeah you basically see the same stuff lol. Unlike Kdrama which Basically HAS NO grounds on Mythology and history so you tend to see western terms influence up and down in their Historical stuff etc. Chinese are more reserved in the accuracy of their myth and belief Without influence which i why I tend to give them a pass But yeah, seeing same thing can be pretty exhausting and annoying. And trust me! I've dropped lots of xianixia because of this. like Till end of moon and stuff. But I have to say there are some xianxia which are unique and stand on their own wits. Like have their own shinning point to save themselves from these cliché. like yeah we know it's same thing but at least they do it in a more fascinating way with fascinating characters and acting eg of my fav. Starry love. They took Comedy into consideration and made it funniest xianxia you could have. Blue whisper. I found the theme of mermaid and setting pretty interesting. Love and Redemption was my first so I call it the only xianixia that did love transcend lifetime so well. it was the Father of it all lol. Ancient love poetry took the theme of godhood and took us to Heavens lol. Ashes of love basically was Aesthetic and original. so these are some that stood out in their own light.
