Ah!!! I thought I was the only one hung up on that scene, glad to see someone else also shares the sentiment! I really liked the fact that in order to accompany her and make her feel more comfortable to be around, he could take any form. It felt so soulful. And that was the first time she watched the beautiful fireworks on the sky. It was just so beautiful in all the ways possible.
really gotta love how some people's view of Xiang liu stops right at episode 1 when the rumours about him say he's cruel and violent. Cause by the end of the story, the characters that went through the entire plot with him said, "He's a respectable opponent"/ "He only owed himself" and dare I say he was much more humane and kind than the characters that were repeatedly pushed on your face as "kind" but was only WEAK. If you cannot see past your prejudice, all I can say is that you sadly missed the whole story's point
And more than anything, I fear so many of us don't recognise that Xiaoyao is a very unreliable narrator. A lot of her opinions stem from her psychological trauma and problems and it does not directly reflect any character and their motivations.
And finally, I really understand how salty it would feel when your fav is the endgame/ 2nd ML but everyone and their mothers talk about the 3rd guy who you unfortunately ended up not liking. Recover from the bitterness soon <33

I'm really surprised to see a take like this. I genuinely wonder how you can see that scene and take it as anything beyond heartache and eternal regrets. Even the way he holds her is full of helplessness and suppressed words, how can you take it this far?

But, i think it is fair to be mad at the production team for messing up all the wonderful scenes by not following the original, I do not excuse it as a time constraint issue. It's not. Instead of stuffing each other into the other's scenes and making them one dimensional yearners (xl & cx) and just a loverboy (jing) they could've focussed more on their character development. but oh well!! And no it's not just Jing who is affected, please. Literally everyone had a fair share of their important scenes being messed up.
Also, it is important to just let others have their opinion lol. If someone complains Jing is boring then that means THEY DO FIND HIM BORING and they have the rights to talk about it. If I don't like a character then I dislike them, that's it. It shouldn't be this serious.

Yeah we are near the Suzhou tournament they showed in first 10 mins right? I guess Xu Tan will definitely win that one.. though it's quite unrealistic for a player who's actually limping to win but anything can happen with the male lead haha. I just want to watch the Rio 2016 XD that's why I'm still watching this drama
