After watching ep 1 just now, I was pleasantly surprised. I was initially worried that the change of director and an almost entirely new cast of characters would be the downfall of this season. But that wasn't the case! I liked this as a first episode since it showed closure for the first season, the start of a new chapter in Teh's and Oh-Aew's lives, the progress they have made in their relationship, and introduced new potential problems to be furthered.
The cinematography, especially the beautiful and moody lighting, and the colorful symbolism were still present and great. There were quite a few memorable moments, but I do have to agree that ep 1 from ITSAY was more impactful. This may be because everything felt new, fresh, exciting, and more emotional compared to IPYTM. But that is typically how sequels go. I see a lot of potential with IPYTM, and am excited to hopefully see new sides to Teh and Oh-Aew in their new environments!

I love how Mob ended up falling for Kikuchi! If there's a s2, I hope their relationship will be the main focus while also getting updated on the couples that were made this season (especially his brother and Toujou)!
This was cute, funny, fluffy, and felt almost meta. There were so many BL tropes and cliches that were called out but also ironically reinforced. I went into this not expecting much actual BL, but it turned out there were many adorably surprising BL moments and couples. I'm so excited for s2 if there is one (fingers crossed)!
This season was so messy and pointless. The only thing that kept me going (and possibly for s3) was Kanae's progress as a stronger, dependable character and her relationship with Todoroki. I'm also pressed that they had to go and kill Shoko, the only saint of the entire show, but her death and the other deaths are why I am interested to see if her daughter becomes stronger from it all in s3.
