Not Good Enough
Korean Drama "L.U.C.A.: The Beginning" had an explosive start, but halfway through changed route and became a completely different drama.First of all, the main idea of the story is pretty interesting. The sci-fi element was also well managed and didn't lower the quality of the drama. The performances were pretty great as well, and, especially, the action scenes were top-notch.
However, the ending episodes were a completely different drama, with a rom-com family drama twist. That, along with the female lead being an annoying, selfish and arrogant character, along with the miscasting of the male lead, though the actor was excellent performance vice, were the factors that ruined the drama. At least the drama was short and didn't far stretched the story.
So, overall, five out of ten.

Korean Drama " Cheat on me, if you can " had many twists, a slow built mystery and strong characters. Actually, the characters were many, some times way too many, and they all created a puzzle of intriguing events, that, in the end, were presented in an unsatisfying way that even left the ending ambiguous. The themes that the drama dealt with, moreover, were a bit ambiguous themselves. A cheating husband, a wife with murderous intents, a spy, and a pretty carefree student who, in fact, hides dark secrets, are the main characters of the drama and that itself says a lot about what the drama was all about. In fact, those characters were what pushed the story forward more than once and kept the action going. It must be noted here that the first episodes were boring and not that thrilling, but the drama did pick up quickly after them, especially when you get to know the characters and the mystery becomes more than just a murder case that involves the main couple.
Other than that, the performances were really good by everyone and the soundtrack suited the whole story well and it was enjoyable.
So, overall, 6.5 out of 10.

Japanese Drama "Kinou Nani Tabeta? " is a slice of life that combines food and romance. The story moves on a slow tempo, with each episode dealing most of the time with small cases that happen during the daily routine of the couple. The drama includes romance, everyday drama, but, above all, comedy so greatly that this drama can be enjoyed even by those who don't really pick up slice of life dramas.
The comedy, moreover, is to the point, without exaggerating and using realistic situations that enhance the humor in the story. The romance as well as original, realistic, with some sweet moments that appear here and there but not often, exactly like it would have happened for a real couple.
But the real treat here is the performances. The two main leads were excellent, not only as well written characters, but performance-wise as well. The rest of the characters were pretty interesting too.
Moreover, the food scenes were made masterfully and presented in a fun way.
So, overall, 8.5 out of 10.

" Crazy Little Thing Called Love " is a pretty good school romance movie. And, even though it's oldish, it feels fresh. The story has its flaws, like the ending and the awkward transition of Nam from the 'ugly' duckling to a pretty girl in a blink of an eye. However, it is fun, with lots of cute moments and some funny parts. The dialogues are clever and entertaining too.
As for the romance, it was adorable, youthful and just right. It had its dramas, but, overall, it was smooth and interesting.
The performances, finally, were all great from everyone in the cast.
So, overall, eight out of ten.

" Legally, Dad " was a quick, rushed and predictable. The story had authenticity in it, with the random stranger picking up two sisters to be his family. However, it wasn't handled well. The story was predictable and even the twists were overused. The pace was just too fast and it didn't give the characters time to progress their relationship and be properly developed. The ending was almost laughable (sorry...)
Other than that, the performances were okay, and everyone in the cast did a good job with their characters. Even the little girl gave a decent performance.
So, overall, three out of ten.

" Trap " promises to be a thriller following a romantic story that has a darker twist to it. However, that was not the case for this web drama. Honestly, it was just another college mini drama with a girl having problems with her love life. Sure, there was the twist of the stalker, but that was overshadowed by the relationship plotlines. So, the main story was okay, as it explored how a young girl, heartbroken, finds love again and starts trusting people. Meanwhile, she is being stalked by a weird guy, a plotline that the drama chose to use as a game of guessing who's the real culprit. That part was an interesting twist, but it was utilized in only a few episodes.
As for the performances, all actors and actresses did a good job with their performances and the couples had chemistry.
So, overall, 5.5 out of 10.

The good thing about Chip In is its length. Eight episodes were just the perfect amount that the story needed, especially since it started dragging towards the ending.Another plus was the characters. They started as spoiled, annoying, possy ones that were almost too easy to suspect. They did have some twists, not all of them though, and thus their motives and a patern about the mystery were all revealed. In addition, they were all interesting and had the same amount of screentime, especially the main ones.
However, the main mystery case was boring. They did try to add some suspense to it, but the pattern of almost cracking it but then not really solving it, got tiring after a while and the whole thing lost its charm. We didn't get to know the main victim-character that well to care for him and his death, something that didn't aid the case.
Finally, the performances were pretty good from everyone in the cast and the cinematography was perfect for creating the mood of the drama.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

" Sweet Revenge Season Two " was not as good as the first season, but it was okay. The story was pretty much the same as the one in the first season, with an app with which the main character could take revenge on those who pretty much harmed her or her family and friends. The start was really good and strong, with an intense case for revenge and a smooth love triangle. The family drama was also sweet and warm. However, the rest of the revenge cases weren't as strong and were kind of boring. The friendship and family storylines were okay, but not enough to keep everything smooth and interesting till the very ending. The love triangle got boring as well. The actual love story was, in fact, predictable and kind of tiring too. Also, as it happened in the first season, there wasn't a clear explanation as to who was behind the revenge app.
However, there were some nice moments to it. First of all, some acts of revenge were satisfying and well deserved. The performances were good too, especially from the young actors and actresses.
So, overall, five out of ten.

" Thumping Spike season two " is not as good as the first, but it has its moments.First of all, the second lead is very entertaining and makes up for most of the enjoyment of the drama. He also steals the thunder from the main lead, who is pretty cookie-cutter good guy material. The girl is cute at first, but gets way too annoying towards the ending, especially when she kind of double dates both guys. Also, for a 'geeky' girl, she was too toned down. We only get to see her study alond with the male lead for like two episodes. And her wearing glasses does not make her a 'geek'.
Other than that, the drama focused more on the romance than the sports, which was disappointing, but they did add some scenes towards the end with a game of two. The performances were pretty good as well.
So, overall, five out of ten.

" Ruby Ruby Love " was an okay web drama. The story is pretty predictable, even from the start, though there were some cute moments when it came to the romance. However, they never reached that intensity as a couple. Still, the concept was interesting and the idea with the ruby ring entertaining and original. Unfortunately, even though they could have added some depth to it, with the introverted, agoraphobic main lead slowly realizing that what was the root of her problem (which, aparently, she already knew, acoarding to a flash back) and believing in herself, we got a half baked conclusion that mainly had to do with the love story.
So, overall, four out of ten.

" Drawing Spring " was a cute mini drama. It focused on two friends that were starting to have feelings for each other. The chemistry between the two leads was intense and their moments together were too sweet and cute to ignore. The kissing scenes were just perfect as well. However, the love triangle was a bit ridiculous and undeveloped. It seemed like it was only there to create some tension in the plot and to lead to that final battle in the ending. Actually, the second lead was just too annoying to handle.
Another minus was the presentation of the whole horse racing concept. It just wasn't good and it looked fake. And yet, the trauma sequences somehow worked and it gave the drama an in depth perspective on the characters.
Finally, the performances were good from everyone in the cast.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

The story had a nice background, with the amusement park that looked almost like a fairy tale and gave off circus vibes. The characters were entertaining, even the side ones. The main ones, moreover, were interesting. Finally, the performances were very good from all the actors and actresses in the cast of the drama.
However, the story seemed a bit dull. Sure, there were the youthful vibes with the friendship concept. And, thankfully, they didn't add romance to it. However, I guess it needed more time to have the friendship mature. As for the ending, it was a bit out of the blue and rushed.
So, overall, six out of ten.

Again, the Loona girls were pretty good and they looked like professionals. So, the performances were good, from the other actors too.
But, there was the story again. Even though the addition of friendship was a nice touch and made the story a bit more emotional and sweet, the main plot line was partially explored and concluded a bit too hasty. However, at least this time one of the girls got her happy ending.
So, overall, five out of ten.

The first episodes were a bit over the top, with some ridiculous situation taking place. However, they somehow made it work. The stellar cast, with some heavy industry names having not only a cameo or two but some small parts in it, did add some funny moments to the mix. The story had a surprising new route to follow towards the ending, which was cute and refreshing actually. And they did wrap up things nicely.
The performances, too, were nice from everyone in the cast. The settings and costumes were adorable too.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

The main story did have an entertaining factor, as the idea of a girl having three guys with different personalities falling in love with her was interesting. However, the drama kind of focused on her chemistry with one of them, and the other ones were a bit rushed. The ending, well, actually, the endings, were a nice idea, but, because the drama didn't have the leading lady spend much time with the other two boys, they just didn't make sense.
So, overall, six out of ten.
