Ouran High School Host Club the movie was just so so. I still found the same let downs as I did with the drama : too closely to an anime, overracting, idiotic scenes (but not that many), crazy characters that promised a more in depth exploration of their personality and past, which never happened etc

However, this one also had a really odd conclusion to the love story. One thing that I liked in the drama was the love triangle. Here, however, the love triangle was weak and the love story didn't have a nice, satisfying ending.

There were some things that I did enjoy however: Nichkhun's cameo, Chiba's character, the sport festival and the way the hosting club teamed up and competed. I also liked the leading lady, the most reasonable character.

So, five out of ten.

I have not read the mange nor watched the anime. So, this was my first time picking up Ouran High School Host Club and it did feel like watching an anime.

As it is a parody (I think) the characters and the events are copy paste from the classic shoujo manga trops that can be found in the genre. However, I did find the acting a bit over the top, as well as the some scenes. But the settings and the clothes seemed quite good and it looked as if the production had really invested in the representation of the Ouran High School.

Overall, the story was cute, although you have to watch the movie to conclude it. The romance was kind of off as well, even though the love triangle was good.

So, five out of ten.

Misaki Number One was surprisingly good. Although the plot was short of predictable, it stuck with the original story about the teacher who tries to connect with her students, and it never went astray as to add a love story out of nowhere or something over the top dramatic, even though the ending was emotional.

So, one thing that I loved was the relationship between the teacher and her students. Also, I enjoyed the leading lady. As a character, she was adoralbe and easily lovable. And the actress suited the role, as she was pretty and dynamic.

However, the small stories centered mainly on the group of students that we watch in the first episode and it never really presents the whole class properly. And, some of them were just annoying.

So, six out of ten.

Haechi was lengthy but had a nice set of characteres that supported the drama well.

First of all, there were too many characters, but they eventually teamed up for a common cause and it was easier to keep up with the story after that. The story itself was a bit slow at the begining, as the characters were introduced. Then, it was kind of boring and I almost droped it, as it seemed like just another historical drama about corruption and those old mean rich men who just can't make peace with the main character. However, the story picked up eventually. The twists were good, the characters interesting and the drama and action scenes just enough to keep the interest high. However, I found the romance unnecessary, as the story focused more on the political aspect than the love story and thus the later felt like it didn't fit the plot.

So, seven out of ten.

What I liked about Kekkon Aite wa Chusen de was how the story turned. It could have gone as one of the classic romantic comedy dramas, but it didn't and I really appreciated that. The story was kind of off in the begining, but overall, it came together in the end. The ending was realistic and satisfying as well. One other thing that I liked was the character development, especially for the otaku guy. But, there were some boring moments as well. Finally, the performances were really good. So, seven out of ten.

Kyou wa Kaisha Yasumimasu or I'm taking the day off, had nothing original to offer. Actually, only the side stories were funny and spiced up the, otherwise, basic plot.

So, the story talks about the romance between a thirty year old office worker who had never dated before and a twenty year old college student. The plot would ahve been nice, if they explored the relationship and its consenquences for them and the people around them. But, that never happened. Actually, the only enjoyable part was how the leading lady always overthough things and she actually calculated the relationship based on logic rather than feelings.

In addition, the overall performances were good, and that helped the drama. So, five out of ten.

As the Gods Will is a bloody movie. That said, the blood scenes, at least some of them, weren't that well executed, thus the gore was easier to watch. However, as there are many disturbing daeths, I wouldn't recommend it to someone who can't handle blood.
For the story, the plot was nice and there were some interesting characters, especially the lead and that creepy secons lead. And the riddles were entertaining to watch, and not too difficult to follow. However, the ending was not as good. I guess what bothered me was that the movie never went deeper than the riddle part, like, why didn't they asked why this was happening and for what purpose. Also, the ending felt quite open, but there is no second movie of this, so I do have to cut points for that. So, six and a half out of ten.

Soko wo Nantoka had some interesting cases to share. Some of them were really good, others just okay. The main story, however, lacked some intensity. Maybe season two will make up for it. That said, I loved the leading lady, although I would liked to see some character development for her character. She was, nevertheless, adorable and really good with her performance. The rest of the cast was good as well. The romance, on the other hand, was underdeveloped and maybe unecessary for the drama focused more on the cases and the leading lady's struggles to achieve her dreams. So, overall, six out of ten.

Reon is not a movie with a story that you haven't watched before, but it was entertaining nevertheless. The performances from the two leads were really good and that helped the movie a lot, as the story was the well known trop of body switching. But, especially the leading lady, the two actors spiced up the film and their effords resulted to an entertaining and interesting result. Overall, in addition, the story was okay and it had some funny moments. The ending was good as well. So, seven out of ten.

Ms. Koizumi Loves Ramen Noodles is an interesting drama. There is ramen, check. There are cute girls, check. There is a sweet story, check. It teaches you about ramen, check. So, the cinematography was good, as the ramen were presented really nicelly. The "satisfaction" scenes, however, could have been better. The performances from the girls were really good, in addition. The story was cute, as well, as the girls friendship was nice to watch. And there were some adorable moments as well. So, seven out of ten.

Keeping in mind that this drama is a special and not an actual drama, Basuke mo Koi mo, Shiteitai was okay. The story isn't anything special and kind of disappoints. I liked the premisses, however, and the ending. Though, there wasn't enough time for the relationships to be developed properly. At least, the performances were good and the basketball games quite well filmed. The first episode had a nice feel to it as well, as it was cute and kind of sweet. The rest were just so so. So, six out of ten.

Liver or Die is a frustrating story. It can make the viewer angry and annoyed in so many levels. The siblings were the most annoying characters, tormenting the lead in so many ways. Not that he can be excused, as he was always forgiving and rushing to their aid. The story was packed with mistfortunes as well, as everything bad and dramatic just happened to happen to the lead.
Now, for the actual story, it was good but nerve wrecking. The love stories were the best part of it, along with some nice family moments and the siblings dynamics. The ending was good as well and quite satisfying. The performances, finally, were really good from every actor and actress. So, seven out of ten.

My main concern with this drama was the love story. It felt kind of odd, as I wasn't sure which person did the leading lady fall for. The story had it's boring parts as well. Sometimes, it was dragging and in other times it just didn't make me want to keep watching, as the mystery was revealed to the viewers early on and so we just waited for the characters to realize it as well. The performances, however, were really good. Plus, there were moments when the story got really sad. But, overall, the drama was just okay, so five out of ten.

As I haven't watched the anime or read the manga, Ajin live action was my first experiance with the story. The plot introduces the Ajin universe quite well and it explains it decently. However, the movie did what most of the live action movies based on manga-anime do: try to fit in too many elements in a few hours length movie and, in the end, the story feels flat. There wasn't time for the characters to develop or be presented in depth. Their motives were unclear at some points. However, the performances were really good and the action scenes entertaining. So, 6.5 out of 10.

Even though Final Fantasy XIV: Hikari no Otousan was a short drama, they managed to present the story wonderfully. Plus, my only fear that the CGI would be terrible, was quickly dashed, as the computer graphics were decent and they didn't take over the drama. The story was nice, with slice of life vibes and a touching theme. I can only describe this as a nice treat. The performances were really good as well. My only concern is that the story was kind of simple and it didn't help me feel all those emotions that were produced by the idea behind the plot. So, seven and a half out of ten.
