Another great episode. Vegas and Pete - well Vegas more than anything else - are 50 million x milder than they were written in the novel. It feels bizarre to write that considering Pete got whipped, tased, electrocuted, starved, beat..but yea, mild. And if we're honest, that is the only way Vegas could be portrayed in a live-action and still make it believable that Pete falls in love with him through conscious choice and his own volition. I think the book delves into topics that are much more difficult to swallow and portray in a live-action. There is way more humanity and empathy still in this Vegas, which I appreciate and think does make more sense to who his character is. I'm going to assume that the whipping scenes were as far as things have gone in hurting Pete, which was bad enough. I'm not sure if they'll take things further but I think their last scenes together were a segue into them building an understanding and a relationship (at least that's what I'm hoping). It does break my heart that Pete is so conditioned to abuse his first instinct is to try to understand where it's coming from. I definitely prefer the rewrite and kind of wish the book had gone in that direction. While I get the author wanting to explore ideas behind the psychology of meticulously breaking someone down and building them back up so their whole world revolves around you, Pete's story is just too intense for me to swallow.
I'm living for the lovey-dovey quality of KP's relationship. I'm so glad they're showing them just fully in love, in their honeymoon phase. The fact that they can't keep their hands off each other is entirely too realistic lol. I know people like drama but I wish interest didn't drop the instant a healthy dynamic is displayed onscreen. I so wish we got to see more couples like Kinn and Porsche (the fully realized versions of themselves hah) in these series.
Kind of bizarre to me that people have no empathy for Big because he "bullied" Porsche, when the ringleader of that bullying was Kinn, let's all be factual about how that went down. I thought the general consensus was that these were characters on the greyscale of fucked up? It's strange to me that Big gets people fired up for bullying when half the characters people love so much are 10 on the Richter scale of shit behavior.
For anyone who wasn't expecting Vegas to be a sadistic sociopath well...you didn't read too far into this show. Even if you haven't read the novel, we've gotten all the warning signs. I really wish people would stop trying to sugarcoat Pete and Vegas' relationship and make it cute though, that's just weird. Especially when it comes to the bizarre fiction floating around that Pete has feelings for Vegas prior to his capture. If you know anything about Stockholm Syndrome and what can happen to victims of abuse after extended periods of it and deprivation of other basic needs, then the introduction of positive reinforcement (if you've read the novel you know what I'm talking about), it's pretty clear how Vegas and Pete's relationship comes about. I'm honestly curious to see how the show is going to portray them because...yeah...
I'd say if you were expecting a feel-good rainbows and butterflies romance you've hitched your horse to the wrong cart. These are individuals who have no qualms killing and torturing people for money for fucks sake. All I'll say is that if we're going realism in the comments - I've seen a lot of people arguing about realizing these characters are "flawed" which is fair - talking about Vegas and Pete like they're consensually playing around is really misleading and perpetuates some really awful rhetoric about rape victims. I feel like people can't honestly talk about what happens to Pete here because they know it's tenth circle of hell fucked and Vegas is a highly attractive and likable character. So instead we get a lot of chatter about Pete enjoying what's happening and them playing rough. Yes, his feelings for Vegas shift, but there is a lengthy period prior to that where he is brought to the lowest of lows and actually wants to k*** himself. I just feel like if you're going to be down for what happens to Pete, you should at the very least be honest with yourself and everyone else about what actually goes down.
I'll admit that as much as I knew this series was going to be stellar, from cast to production, I knew I was going to have the hardest time once Pete and Vegas were introduced. I'm just hoping if the show is going to go there they factually show what Pete goes through and how their relationship evolves so there is a clear understanding of their dynamic.
Kinn-Tawan hurts Porsche But Vegas-Porsche hurts Kinn too but people not ready to acknowledge that 😗☕️🤏🏽
I'm sorry but Vegas and Porsche have never been in a relationship and Porsche has never indicated he has feelings for Vegas beyond friendship. Contrarily Tawan and Kinn were in a serious relationship and Kinn is holding on to little mementos from that time, something Porsche knows. Porsche has more right to be hurt and question Kinn's feelings in this scenario as there is much more validity in there still being lingering feelings for an old flame than one that was never initiated to begin with. Vegas wanting Porsche for himself (whether because he truly likes him or just wants to steal him from Kinn) has literally nothing to do with Porsche, it's all a fiction in Kinn's head.
You bring up an interesting point about the series title. I've been wondering for a while, because of what the…
I think I read somewhere that they did (hire medical professionals) and that Sammon came in to also give consultation and show them the correct ways of doing things, which is pretty cool.
Yeah, I'm half-between wishing I had waited to binge the whole thing and glad I didn't because then I can discuss the goings on with everyone in the comments lol.
You bring up an interesting point about the series title. I've been wondering for a while, because of what the…
That's such a good point about Tin having to get in touch with emotion and connect with people to solve the problem. It's interesting because doctors are notorious for being clinical and needing to acquire a "good bedside manner". Because they're so used to disconnecting - I mean they need to in order to be able to function, I can't imagine being a doctor to be honest - a lot of doctors have to actively work at engaging with people, there are actual classes on it in some medical programs. I wonder if Sammon, as a doctor, tied that in purposefully because that would be so interesting. And I agree about him starting to connect to the place he swore to leave, I wonder if he'll be wanting to leave at the end of this 😂.
OK, and maybe it's just me, but in that scene with Jinta doesn't it look like he's all done up? Like he...I don't know...might be going on a date...? lmao just saying. I think next episode we may see some serious progress between Tin and Tol based entirely off watching the preview for ep 8. The scene in the series trailer where Tin is holding Tol on the bed comes up so...VERY interesting....I have no idea how we're going to get there but so far they've been so good at developing the arcs I'm down for finding out next week. I'm actually actively bummed we have to wait a week!
Kind of same here haha I was originally going to watch it just to give it a try since I enjoyed Tae's acting in Paint with Love even if the series wasn't the greatest, but I was going to wait until it had finished airing. I came on here to see how things were going and the comments got me interested enough to start it much sooner. I would have started it right away if I'd realized from the beginning this was based on a Sammon work though, I totally missed that in the description. I only got to binge up to episode 3 though, I'm kind of jealous you got to binge so much of it. I think it would be a different experience watching things happen more consecutively. I'm probably likely to re-watch this once it finishes airing just to see what else I may have missed...
So much is happening! Tin has way too much on his plate. Excellent character development, the plot continues to…
My pure completely unsubstantiated speculation on the GapSing undercurrent is that I think they may already be hooking up and we're learning about it through the timeline Tin loops to (maybe).
There have been several instances where it doesn't add up that they're just colleagues who dislike each other but two stand out a lot to me...one, Gap's assumption that Sing is asking him to dinner and him fixing himself up last episode. The second was what you mentioned in this episode where Sing scolds him for calling him Hia while at work. Why would he say "I've told you not to call me that at work" if they weren't seeing each other in a different capacity outside of work? Then there's Gap's nagging and how he inserts himself in anything to do with Sing at work, he brings him a coffee unsolicited...totally concerned "boyfriend" energy from my perspective lol like why would he keep getting upset every time Sing takes a shift for Tin unless he was worried? If Sing doesn't want to be outed at work, it would explain why he's so cold and standoffish and projecting an overtly professional relationship between them when they're at the hospital or in front of others. I'm probably totally off-base but that's what makes sense to me from what we have seen hah.
I missed the live time , they already removed the video, where can I watch it ep 7 now??
Wait a bit and then do a Google search for it, unfortunately, the only way to watch after the watching period is through unofficial channels. Usually, places like Bilibili or Dramacool will re-upload it but it takes a day or so. To save you a headache none of the uploads on Youtube (there will be a lot lol) are legit, they'll take you to a third party link where you have to pay to watch so don't click any of those.
Also sing and gap are kinda getting on my nerves...... we're halfway through and I'm honestly not even sure if…
This episode was actually really interesting with them for me...I could be totally wrong here, but I think they may already be hooking up and we're learning about it in the same timeline that Tin reverts to.
Two things stand out to me...one, Gap's assumption that Sing is asking him to dinner and him fixing himself up last episode. And this episode when Sing scolds him for calling him Hia...he specifically says not to call him that "while at work". I think they may be hinting at them already hooking up or being together but Sing doesn't want to be outed at work so he tries to keep things overtly professional between them. It also might explain why Gap always seems to be nagging and inserting himself when it comes to Sing if we're dealing with a concerned "boyfriend" energy. For example, he always gets upset with Sing is working another shift for Tin. This is total speculation at this point but it makes sense in my brain LOL.
Dang, this has to be one of the most intriguing and coherent BLs I've watched this year (and that is an accomplishment…
You bring up an interesting point about the series title. I've been wondering for a while, because of what the series is titled, if there is going to be a point where Tin has to make a choice between who to save. I think at some point he may not be able to save everyone, so are they going to make him choose? It's stressing me out just thinking about it lol.
From my perspective, he definitely knows that exposing Dr. Sak's corruption is the key. He highlights it as part of what he has to do to resolve things, but I think because his feelings are now involved when it comes to Tol his humanity is going to get in the way. I just re-watched the trailer - because I wanted to see what might be upcoming now that we have so much more information lol - and there is a scene where Jinta warns him that something he chooses to do is going to have irrevocable consequences in the future. If you think about it, as much as he may want to romance Tin that's a selfish solution to the problem (and I LOVE that they added that because it's such a human thing to do). While Tin is saying that he's doing it purely to save Tol, we know it's because he genuinely is starting to have feelings for him and wants him. That little smile of his when he wrote that as #3 on his list I think says it all, he's not doing it because he has to, it's because he wants to.
And I"m glad you're enjoying it! You've come a long way from your first comment where you were unsure if you wanted to watch LOL.
I'm pretty sure we haven't seen her yet (someone correct me if I'm wrong because I would also like to know!) so I'm thinking a new character is being introduced. I'm curious because Tol definitely seemed to know her, or at least she triggered something in him based on his reaction.
Ok so here's my take on where things might be headed with Tol's behavior...Thinking back now...we started off…
obviously each episode more and more gets revealed and we start to learn there are layers (the character development in this is A+) to each relationship and interaction. Tol comes across as arrogant and cold but he's also extremely paranoid. To my mind, it feels as if he's always thinking someone is out to take advantage of him. Why would he behave like that? I'm starting to suspect that he has been taken advantage of because of his money, so he is automatically guarded and suspicious. We obviously know people are interested in getting close to him because of his money - Mai is exhibit A - so I think it has happened often enough that he’s trying to protect himself. I think it’s interesting that he always responds back to criticism over his coldness and suspicion towards Tin with “I don’t know him.” Totally a fair response, and I think telling for why he acts as he does. I'm starting to suspect Win and Lukpair might be in the Mai camp and be users. There is a missing piece in the interactions this episode with Rit and Tol that I think is going to explain why there are two versions of events between their understanding of what happened, and I think Win and Lukpair are behind the confusion.
In the scene where Tol and Rit are fighting Tol seems genuinely upset and like he doesn't understand why Rit is angry. Rit seems genuinely confused that Tol said he "left the group", so why are they both under different impressions over what happened? If I were in a group project and someone left and we had to carry on without them, I would also be like "wtf are you doing?" if the person who left started trying to sabotage the group/project. In a group project, it doesn't matter who initiated the idea, if you leave the group and refuse to work on it, the group isn't going to stop mid-project and come up with something new they're going to move forward because it’s supposed to be a collaborative effort. So I get Tol's perspective IF he has the wrong understanding of why Rit left. Rit also doesn't seem to get what Tol is talking about when Tol accuses him of leaving the group, and when he starts to genuinely question Tol (and Art) about why he's acting like he is, Win steps in a starts a fight (sus). There is definitely more to why Rit left, especially knowing now that they were apparently close. Right now it seems the only genuine person in Tol's life is Art, which is sad in its own right.
I think we’ve barely seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to who Tol is, and we’re going to start getting a lot more now in the second half of the series. Once again such a good episode! I was riveted the whole time, especially during the scenes between Rit and Tol. I’m genuinely heartbroken for Rit, thank God Tin is around now to save the day lol. Though truly what a fucked up series of events, no wonder there’s a time loop to try to fix everything that went wrong. Thinking back now...we started off this series thinking Tin was trying to save the life of this hotheaded drunk driver...the way things have evolved from there (insert head exploding emoji)

This was a good episode to get character development or rather see many different layers from Tol and Rit. Seems…
I feel like there definitely has to be more to the story of him "leaving" the group. Especially after how he reacted to what Tol said. I think Tol and Art might have been convinced that he left the group by Win and Lukpair, they seem the most aggressive towards Rit and also acted suspiciously in the scene where Tol and Rit are fighting about what happened. Tol and Rit definitely have two versions of events, and both of them seem to believe genuinely that their version is correct. To my mind, this means there's a piece we're missing (and they're both missing) on what really happened to make that divergence.
The first episode was fun and lighthearted. I could use a dose of well-produced fluff lol. The last few fluff pieces had horrible writing and characters that drove me insane, but so far this is passing at least that low bar. I also like that there is something different sprinkled in with the content creator plot and the (gasp) Anti-SOTUS agenda. I don't think this will be anything stellar or award-winning but I think I'm going to enjoy this one.
Honestly, it's heavily medical, just because that's Sammon's style. It's medical suspense in the same way as Manner…
As an additional FYI, it does venture out of the ER but it's definitely the primary setting. Tin goes on little field trips frequently to try and save people lol. Hopefully you end up enjoying it!
(also this is an aside but I didn't mean to comment twice on your post, MDL being a mess again haha).
