I found Yi Seo annoying but I rather her than Soo Ah. Honestly, Soo Ah seemed to "like" Saeroyi but that's pretty much just it. She had years to become more with Saeroyi but her job was more important. At the beginning she even considered betraying him and calling the police. He even once told her that it's up to her to define their relationship and still, she didn't do anything. I don't feel like she was interested in Saeroyi that much. She even tried to dissuade Saeroyi from his goal and use their relationship as leverage instead of supporting him. I would've been mad if he ended up with Soo Ah. She clearly don't like him.

It took me a few days to complete the second half when I watched the first half in one go. Kinda just lost interest. I didn't like Yi Seo's character. She was introduced to us as extremely intelligent but then she just became obsessed with Saeroyi.

I feel the same. Yi Seo was too obsessed and Soo Ah was too selfish.

I watched this years ago and I've been meaning to watch it and complete it this time! I kinda got annoyed because the Crown Princess was such a stuck up b****! I know it ends with her winning and I hated it. I loved our villianess, Yam Jun!

Anyone else pissed how they did Wang Yu at the end? I don't mind her being with the Emperor in the end. But it's the fact that they build up Wang Yu and his quest for Goryeo's freedom to just kill him off at the end for Seung Nyang. 51 episodes of Wang Yu's plotting to have him give it all up for a woman. I feel like they could've written a better ending for Wang Yu.

It's been years since I've watched this and can't get over it. Any recommendations on a female centered historical drama? Can be Korean or Chinese. I've already watched Empress Ki and Queen Seon Duk.

If you want to watch something accurate, go watch a documentary. These dramas are written for people's enjoyment not to teach history.

I'm almost at the end but I'm a little bit pissed off with how Ling Xi treated Jiu Chen when she came back from her trials. He suffered so much for her and she's so cold. I can understand the emotions she's going through right now, but why so cold? ughh

This drama is more of a slice-of-life type drama. It pretty much just depicts Ming Lan's life. It isn't action packed like something such as Yanxi Palace. It is a lot more realistic and slow paced. The characters were amazing. Ming Lan is one of my favourite female characters to date. If you love Chinese historical dramas, give this a try.
