Is Fated Heart ok? I've not started yet but i am itching to take it on, while keeping my sanity to wait for JBZ-MY…
OMG, Fated Hearts is one of my top dramas of the year! It's SO good. I really, really loved it. I don't know that I would call it SAFE, though. The characters go through a LOT. I actually cried multiple times. I will say it ends well so you don't have to worry about that.
It makes sense to her as a character lol, when youβve been forced to keep secrets your entire life because you…
Agreed. And they did a good job of showing us how hard it was to finally come clean with her BFF....she was so afraid Zhang Tai was going to hate her and turn her back, and even ZT agreed "oh no, you can't tell anyone here; they'll k*ll you." JBZ is THE premiere warrior of the abyss....and her actual nemesis. And the fact that she is in love with him makes it even harder to be vulnerable. And when he confronts her, she also chooses to tell him nothing because he destroyed the GMD in front of her; now if he knows, it's basically like he k*lled her if she dies of the poison. So she is also protecting him in a way by keeping it from him at this point. First by not making him choose to break the oath to his master, then by not being the reason the poison takes her life. So yeah, lots of layers going on here. I get that everyone wants her to just be honest already. I do, too! But I see what the writers are doing.
Well thank goodness JBZ is finally starting to put some things together. And I guess now that she caved and told her best friend the truth and didn't lose her, she MIGHT finally tell JBZ when next they have a deep heart to heart conversation. We can only hope. I mean, he's basically figured out she's Ming Xian in the trailer for ep 25, and he KNOWS something is VERY freaking wrong with her that she's not telling him. I think he's smart enough to put two and two together at this point even if she doesn't tell him. Come on ep 25, don't let me down.
And hey! At least our Princess smacked some sense into the doctor. Yes, don't hide things and pretend you don't care in the name of "protecting her". π Trust me, we hate that.
Anyway, tomorrow night can't come soon enough. And what is this "ep 27" in the countdown?? Are we getting THREE episodes tomorrow? Better not get my hopes up. Probably only two still and the cd is just wrong.
Oh, and I just want to mention, I finished Fated Hearts tonight right before LITC aired, and...look, I came into 23 already emotionally drained and compromised, okay? That whole thing with the Golden Millet Dream and JBZ and then 27 sacrificing himself was rough! I had to break out tissues.
Everyone must be busy watching the drama, because WHERE ARE ALL OF THE COMMENTS about that opening for 23?! My goodness. I know, they're just setting us up to hurt worse later.
OMG Youku has TWO episodes, I'm so relieved. Too bad the trailer for ep 25 shows he STILL doesn't know for sure she is MX...but he obviously is PRETTY sure.
Wow, what a show. From beginning to end. I just finished and I don't know how to move on. The ACTING in this. The leads were both amazing. (And Li Qin is the ONLY believable female general we've had recently, IMO. No shade on the other actresses; they were...fine, I guess? But Li Qin was FANTASTIC.) And CZY? My god give this man more historical bad*** roles. Please! For me.
The scene when FYX tells him his best friend, the only person he has trusted unconditionally, is the traitor? Just WOW. The acting they both do with just their eyes, or with body language.
And let's talk about the secondary characters! WOW. Qin Tian Yu didn't have to go that hard playing the Emperor of Jinxiu, but here we are. The scenes in these final episodes were literally heart breaking, and he did that with a character that in another drama would not have been even remotely sympathic. WHILE still keeping true to his character's nature. The scene where he confronts his mother at the end of ep 35? Riveting. Absolutely 100% riveting. The emotion he brought to that. You could see the ineffectual, sociopathic emperor she made him into, and you could also see the little boy inside who wanted his mother's approval and affection buried underneath all of that. When he tells her why the Princess has "bewitched" him, it was just incredible writing and acting. Not her beauty, but because she NEEDED him. He felt needed and powerful because of that, instead of the emasculated, powerless emperor his mother had made him into.
I am just blown away by the acting in this drama. By the writing. By the cinematography and the stunning costumes and set pieces. The music! All of it working together so incredibly well.
And, I'm going to circle back to a comment I made here early on. Someone argued with me and pretty much told me I was wrong, but here at the end, I'm not wrong. One of the best things about this drama is how even after they fall in love, NEITHER lead is suddenly weaker or less bad***. BOTH of them keep the core character traits set up in the beginning, they just become a team who are soft with one another because they're in love, but also hard as nails to their enemies. They are a POWER COUPLE, and I'm here for it. And to whoever it was who was arguing with me, no, the FL wasn't suddenly made into a damsel in distress for the ML! She remains amazing and powerful and strong in her own right, and even saves HIM multiple times. Just saying.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but this is a super simplistic view of the events and choices all involved…
Actually, she pleads with him not to. He is making his own choice. You can choose to blame her and be mad about it, but the fact remains: he is choosing to do it against her wishes. Also, he's been telling her all along not to reveal who she is or what she's after because he's afraid they will k*ll her if they find out. So you're blaming Ming Yi for....following exactly the course of action both she AND 27 thought was the safest path for her? Anyway, you're entitled to feel how you feel and be mad at Ming Yi. But she still didn't "make" him do anything.
After seeing the preview, I hate Mingyi for being dishonest. Because of her, 27 will have to sacrifice.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but this is a super simplistic view of the events and choices all involved characters (Ming Yi, JBZ, 27....whoever poisoned her, even her parents for abusing her and training her from a young age to lie for survival, and so on) have made to reach the point in the trailer. And also, the show literally already foreshadowed "nine lives", so even though I'm worried for 27, I'm pretty hopeful he's not going to be permanently sacrificing himself for her.
they cut another kiss scene didn't they....I swore I saw clips of them kissing in the pavillion where she was…
Another? How can anyone judge what's been cut when we are only 22 episodes in? Lots more episodes left for kiss scenes, and set pieces often make multiple appearances in these dramas.
I mean everyone is already putting this spoiler in comments with no spoiler tags - really?? Some people don't watch trailers! But anyway, just watched the trailer for 23 ahead of watching 21-22, and g-d it 27 better not permanently die to give her a little more time to live! Literally her ONLY support and source of unconditional love for her entire life. Come on JBZ...or someone, anyone, please jump in at the 11th hour and save him, or do some magic cultivation spirit vein woo-woo and bring him back.
I felt so smug. Iβm like yes finally I got validation that I was right and that whenever she showed weakness…
ππ Accepted! Yeah there is usually no point trying to talk to them. I made one comment that was just pointing out why Ming Yi was still lying and someone bit my head off. So I blocked them instead of responding.
And hey! At least our Princess smacked some sense into the doctor. Yes, don't hide things and pretend you don't care in the name of "protecting her". π Trust me, we hate that.
