Maybe. IDK. There's still some bits from the trailers that seem like him feeling betrayed that we haven't seen in the show yet, so....I'm not so sure.

Real! Been waiting for that scene since the first trailers dropped, lol.

The more time goes on, the more I want JBZ to find out not just about MY's true identity, but also about her poisoning. Like....every single time she is using spiritual energy to save him, she is putting herself one step closer to death. He's questioning whether she has feelings for him, and she's out here literally sacrificing her life for him. One could argue she needs him alive to get the GMD, but come on....she clearly loves him. She could have let him die and taken the GMD, and instead she used her spiritual power to save him and lost another petal.

From the trailers, it looks like the soul-whatever thing that forces her to tell the truth will happen, and JBZ's only question? Not who she is. But if she's ever loved him. If her feelings have ever been sincere. And she answers over and over that her feelings ARE sincere. Will this finally lay to rest his doubts? But then what happens when he finds out everything she's been hiding?

He's such an innocent. I have to say, his conversation with YX did not make me happy. I've been holding out hope that YX is only serving Lord Hanfeng to protect the princess, but that speech sure made it seem like he's serving him for selfish reasons. IDK.

WOW, you guys....the TRAILERS. I feel like today's ep being a single was deliberate setting us up for tomorrow.

For everyone asking....ep 18 is on Youku. It gets released early there on the main platform that owns the show, and aggregates at later times to others. So if you want to watch when the countdown ends, that's where you have to go. And it's an "early" ep - even if you are a VIP member of Youku, you have to pay $2.99 (in the US) to access the early eps of the show. Not for each ep, but that $3 is for all early eps for the whole run of the drama.

There hasn't been a clear moment when it happened, but more a slow build of little things. I think by the time we had the episode with the marriage stone, she definitely has real feelings for him, but hasn't even acknowledged it to herself. As to why she has fallen for him, who in her life has ever truly cared about her, the real her, other than her companion beast? Exactly no one. Her family has used and abused her, forcing her to live a lie and to tell that lie to everyone around her. The moment she became useless to them, they abandoned her and threatened her life. JBZ didn't abandon her, even after he knew she lied to him. In fact, he tied them together to save her, specifically making it so he COULDN'T, even while he was clearly angry and in pain because of her.

Right???

First of all to everyone in comments freaking out that he is her ancestor, he’s probably not. Rewatch ep 1.

Second, even if he was they are so far genetically removed after hundreds of years of generations it would be like marrying your 20th cousin - dna tests would find them as genetically related as random strangers. 🙄

Oh, hmm. I've missed that, somehow. Is this just implied in his interactions with the bad guys, or is it actually stated somewhere and I somehow missed it? Either way, this makes a lot more sense to me.

When did the show state that they carved their names on the stone? If so, I missed that. If they did, then it does change how the stone works and how it was stated to work in the scene with JBZ and MY....and to your point, I agree that he's not only upset she lied about her name. He's going to assume everything about her is false and he's heartbroken. But I still believe she has feelings for him she hasn't even acknowledged to herself yet.

I just have to say, I don't know why ANYONE follows someone like Lord Hangfeng or whatever his name is. Leaders who routinely k*ll or maim or torture their followers for failure...like seriously, what is YX thinking at this point, because even if he started following him for the rise in station and power, by now I'd be running for the hills.

IKR? It was my favorite part of ep 15! I hope to see them become friends.

As someone else pointed out somewhere in these comments, our FL has literally been raised her entire life to survive with lies. She's been forced by her wacked family to lie about her very identity to everyone since she was a small child. Lying is going to be her default, especially to survive. Trusting JBZ with the full truth when he's already angry? That's going to be tough for someone like her. Yes, there will be consequences to her lying AGAIN, but it's completely within her character to be doing it, and not because she's "low" and being awful to JZB. It's because she doesn't know how to trust anyone with her true self yet.

Youku has both episodes. But ep 15 is "TVOD", meaning you pay a small fee to access those as "early release" episodes. They count, but places like Netflix won't get them at the same time.

I just went back and rewatched this because this was completely not how I understood it.

"Every soul has an identity. The name must match the body before it can be carved into the stone."

"If the visitors are lovers, the Love Bridge will be connected."

And "They passed through the barrier. How is that possible?" followed by the Princess: "Uncle you know this barrier is impassable to all except for two people in love."

"If I am not Ming Yi, what are the consequences?" "The Lover's Domain only accepts True Love. If there is any deceit, divine punishment will follow."

Finally, "He has been struck by Divine Lightning many times, yet he still won't give up. Whatever. We are tired. Let him carve it."

I took all of this to mean: they passed the barrier and the path appeared because they are two people in love.

However, she is deceiving him with a false identity, which means it isn't yet True Love. And yes, JZB is heartbroken because he trusted her and he found out she's been lying to him all this time. He's going to assume her feelings aren't true, either. But I think she is in love with him, but hasn't even admitted it to herself yet.

That's a really excellent point. I've already thought a lot about how their individual trauma has shaped them both, and especially when it comes to love - neither of them has experienced much of that, right? And you can tell they can't even accept their own developing feelings for one another because of those issues. (Him having been a slave and never knowing love until his master, and her being used, and let's be real, abused by her family into pretending to be someone else to fight these deadly fights for them, and then discarded the moment she's useless.) So I get where you're coming from with this. I think you're right. Thinking about that will help keep me from yelling at my screen tonight when she inevitably only gives him half truths or even more lies. 😂💔
