We are just not going to see this the same way. When someone tells me "you can see it in her eyes," to me that is them just seeing what they want to see. I do not see her being uncomfortable at all.

Actually you do have to be Korean to understand how Koreans feel. Every country has their own culture and way of doing things. You don't have to understand or agree with it...you're not supposed to. That's why I am very sensitive to not police other countries on how they want to address things in their own history. I am American...I genuinely hate my own country for doing that lol.

I do agree that the bullying is over the top. I don't think she meant anything by this, but like I said she fully offered the information on her own, now admitted ignorance through her apology. Now she has to deal with the ramifications of it. I just hope they show her a little grace, because I think her apology was incredibly genuine.

I have stated on another post that I am not Korean. So, while I do know the history, I will never fully grasp the generational trauma and socioeconomic ramifications of that time in history in their country. So, they have a right to upset and put out by her so freely offering her families Japanese historical connection without even a pause, clearly not understanding the significance. It was insensitive and ignorant of her. That being said I do not think she deserves cancellation over it. I never thought she meant anything nefarious by this, she was just clearly ignorant of it. This is a very good apology, and it's nice to see that she's going to have some reflection over it taking historical significance more seriously in the future. Judging by the internet this is not going to be easy to climb out of, but hopefully people offer her some grace after this apology at least.

I specifically went looking because you made a comment that they ask her repeatedly about her grandfather. They don't they ask her about her family of doctors. That's just an interesting fact about her and related to her upcoming drama. She is the one who offers the Japan historical connection. Like it or not she opened the door to all of this. I don't see her being uncomfortable at all, and it comes off as boasting because she's giving information no one ever asked for. She, herself, is taking it that extra step. She did not have to bring up the Japan connection at all, and if they already had that information then she could have explained it.

I get why they are mad, but I am also kinda with you that she shouldn't be cancelled over it. I am also not Korean. *wanted to add read her apology and it seems very genuine, and well thought out. Hopefully it helps her out a little, but even she is recognizing she did this to herself out of pure ignorance.

Defamatory remarks...oof lol. I stated remarks about PR. I have given no opinion on the facts of this case. Personally I don't care if he's guilty or not, it's a tax case...who cares? lol. As I have stated before I think what he's doing here is really smart PR and I wish him luck. Having good PR is no indication on whether he's guilty or innocent. People want to argue on whether he's guilty or innocent in a tax case I wish them luck as well lol.

That is true. Honestly, most countries have atrocities in their past, hell in their present too lol. I don't think anyone can blame descendants for what happened in the past, but we at least have to acknowledge it and learn from it. I think what she did here would be akin to me, an American, saying my great great grandfather revolutionized the cotten industry with his farm down south in the 1800s, using it as a flex, completely ignoring the giant elephant in the room lol. I personally think she was just being dense, but I am not Korean and dont have a good read on how they view it, or her intention. I understand being pissed, knowing the horrific history behind it, and she needs to tread very carefully here.

Agreed international fans are not going to fully get it. I know enough of the history to understand why they are upset, and understandably so, but I am not Korean so I will never be able to grasp the generational trauma as well as the socioeconomic ramifications of that specific time in history for the Korean public. So, while I think outright cancelling her entirely is harsh, depending on how she handles it, I do think that international fans should have very little say on how this plays out.

I'm surprised how much I'm liking this one. Not going to lie, I haven't been feeling costume dramas lately so I was hesitant but this sucks you right into a drama coma. The humor is top notch too👌Definitely recommend :)

The bromance is great. That song when they were fighting the little puff ball 😍, I need it immediately. This has a great OST. Just loving that video game feel. I may fall down a tomb drama rabbit hole after this lol.

Yes. They give some lore/background here, and it's a standalone story so you won't be lost.

I've seen a few of his older dramas, and yeah...he's very pretty I'll give him that lol. Wonderfools does make me curious to see if he continues to improve. He did really well going back and forth between stoic and vulnerable. I forgot it was him a few times. So, I'm intrigued by him now. She did carry Wonderfools though, let's be real, she was fantastic lol.

I feel like I'm watching someone play a video game with this drama lol. Do I get what's going on? Not entirely. Am I having fun? Absolutely ;)

I had a hard time with Bon Appetit, Your Majesty....the cooking competitions...oof lol. I'll give this a try though, he really impressed me in Wonderfools. I think he has come a long way.

I'm not Korean but I read, and know why this is a pretty big deal, even more so that she used her family history as a flex during an interview. I don't agree that she should be canceled for this, depending on how she handles it from here, but this is more about her ignorance and insensitivity vs. being responsible for what her ancestors did. People in the comments should really read their history, and know why this is such a big deal. At least watch a drama about it, there are several and you all are here as Kdrama fans lol.

The very public comeback is an interesting choice considering this is a very sensitive situation all around. Not sure if that will go well for him, it may backfire. Look I am not going to tie myself in knots over this guy. If he's guilty of anything karma will take care of it in the end, she always gets hers. Lesson to be learned is don't fake things on the internet. It makes it really hard to know what the truth is in ANY situation. I don't care how hard you believe anyone is guilty you destroy every shred of credibility the second you fake and/or spread fake crap on the internet.

Her styling is fantastic. Story sounds intriguing. I'm loving the ML, as sort of an opposite. Say what you want but pairings like this often turn out to be the best pairings. He's a good actor too.
