Eh hard pass. I liked the idea of showing how love and relationships evolve. But this month contractual thing is a hard pass for me. At that point just hang a pineapple on your door and be what you really want to be...swingers lol 😆. Now THAT I would watch 😏
Probably going to let the episodes build until the end now. I'm starting to get fatigued 😩 lol. But I think my initial assessment was accurate about our ML. He's a powerful man going through late puberty in a historical patriarchy. I wish our FL luck with that 🙃 lol
Even by 2026 standard he is doing well better than most men. Because who you think would not try to kill his adulterous…
That is a good point in modern times he'd take her to the cleaners in court...historical she would not be alive 😬 lol. Yeah for his time hes a complete green forest who just seems to be having a late puberty in a historical patriarchy lol 😆
If he consummated the marriage I'm sure some people would still be saying it's so realistic because men in that…
Justification of the historical accuracy yes, but not the act itself. Just like in my original comment I'm not justifying anything he's done but I think it's strange to measure him to a modern standard as a historical character. He's a little behind the times on modern day feminism lol.
If he consummated the marriage I'm sure some people would still be saying it's so realistic because men in that…
Well, for me, when it's TOO realistic then you just get reality...none of us are here for that lol. I like that they are giving it a balance if that makes sense? Which is what you should do in a historical fiction. If this guy was 2026 green flag that's just not realistic at all.
True, I think it’s a good idea that they’re showing him having all these flawed, upper status logic and doing…
I agree it is uncomfortable, but there is something about that that I like. I think the discussions alone show how good the writing and acting is here, it truly is a gem of a show lol.
Honestly, I am getting tired waiting for the romance to really burn. It is to slow and draggy. The last two episodes…
I'm with you here, because I actually miss the interesting cases they worked on together. So, it's like just do it and get it over with so we can move on lol 🤣
Everyone keeps forgetting this is a historical drama. In modern times, yes, bad boy, red flashing lights. In historical times this dude is a green forest. He is rich and powerful, attractive, did not force her in the bedroom, has not hit or beaten her, is actually nice to her. Any woman living back then would be like hell if you don't want I sure will take him lol 🤣. Yes he has character faults. He's deeply insecure, and lives as a powerful man in a patriarchal society. He's never going to get to 2026 green flag, status. The most you are going to get is maybe orangish-yellow...MAYBE. He's going to do more fucked up things by 2026 standards, hate to be the bearer of bad news 😬. She knows he's not that bad of a guy otherwise she wouldn't be so brazen, remember her number one goal is to live. She's just whipping him into shape right now, I love it. He'll add no more drugs to the list...hopefully lol.
I think the best thing about this drama, and what makes it so special is how it shows women choosing their own fate in the end. The stacks are always against our FL but she always finds a way to get ahead, just like she will in this marriage. Yes he wants that too, but he's so caught up in his own feelings, and insecurities...that's his arc to work out lol.
I loved that the wedding was SO melodrama...that slap was something else lol 😆. I see it this way, this is the best outcome for her to really get in there and redeem her family. I really want them working together for that to be coming soon, but I'm here for the melodrama for now, and we may have a new crown for king of the shameless 😏
I agree with the sentiment that what he did was wrong, but I'm perplexed by the confusion and outrage I saw over…
No, your comment is reasonable, which is why I replied. It's the amount of comments I saw where people were clutching their pearls so tight threatening to drop the drama, and saying it ruined the whole drama for them. On multiple platforms. It's like it's fine to disagree with him and his methods, I certainly do, but shouldn't we all be happy that they are straying from the usual templates and giving us something different? I love a little nuance, a little moral ambiguity. Out FL has it too. I think its great tbh lol.
I do agre people were unnecessarily defensive of him too.
So, once again, this is not a call to cancel Lin Jinqi. 😂 Some of you become so defensive the moment someone…
I agree with the sentiment that what he did was wrong, but I'm perplexed by the confusion and outrage I saw over it. This is a historical drama, it definitely could have been much much worse, and he's never presented himself as a green flag type of guy. He's incredibly insecure, and emotionally immature. He's also very calculated and deliberate with every intention. I mean their first interaction was him using her and giving a veiled threat to have her and her family killed if she didn't comply. Nothing he has done has been shocking, and his character arc very much involves growing in all of these aspects. So, I never agreed with his methods but to me they make sense for his character so I really wasn't all that bothered by them. I also knew that they would dive further into it like they have for every other reveal.
I'm just glad we have a proper nuanced ML for once, who's a really good actor.
The story is very good, addictive, can't stop watching. No bad episodes, good pacing, interesting writing curvature,…
I've been watching C-dramas for a long time and I will say she is probably one of the best actresses they have had in the last 5ish years. I really appreciate how understated, and natural she is with her appearance and acting. Her characters are the type that draw you in without even realizing she's doing it, because she makes them so relatable. That is a form of charisma. It's really subjective when it comes down to it, but she's given scripts for a reason...she's good at this.
I bet he knew she won’t agree if he confesses or proposes marriage. she’d definitely think of a way to escape…
He did say that too, he knew exactly what he was getting into and he likes it lol. Those internal thoughts, "she's always scheming," it's just like him. Marrying her is like the ultimate chess match for him lol.
Reminder for all those caught up, there are still several episodes left lol. Yes there are mixed feelings but remember this drama has been brilliant for giving big reveals and then making them make more sense in follow-up episodes. Have your feelings now but we are nowhere near the end yet. These two kids will work it out, our this will be a Ctrauma 😬...we shall see lol.
Completely agree. I've been watching Cdramas since the early 2000s and this is giving me so much nostalgia on…
I grew up on Cdramas and anime. Then wandered over to Kdramas through Happiness of all dramas during peak covid. I am trying to figure out where to land next Jdrama or I've heard Thailand always delivers 🤔
I do agre people were unnecessarily defensive of him too.
