Finally, ep 27. Time for all the hypocritical and murderous immortals (I'm looking at you peacocks and that stupid Fengming) to get their just desserts.
I think I'll have to wait until tomorrow to watch ep 26, ep 25 was a lot.
I know many here are unhappy (probably understatement) with the ML, but just watching it as impartially as I could, he was pushed to a difficult place - some of it his own making for not talking things through in advance with AY or his friends. He's still just trying to do things on his own and making a mess of things.
These immortals are supposed to be fair and upholders of law and due process, but once they saw AY enter the demonic formation to save Yuanqi, they just lazily assumed she was in cahoots with the demons because they were still angry about the whole Daze and Lanfeng disasters. Of course, this was all instigated by that ugly-smirk-face Peacock King. If Yuanqi had enough experience and maturity, he should have known to take a step back, calm things down and not resort to destroying Ningyun Mtn and sealing her immortal bones so quickly. I can understand he wanted to save AY and thought those drastic measures would shut those stinkin immortals up. He still has a lot learn, but I feel for him. He's trying so hard to save her and yet he's the one to cause her so much pain. So yes, despite being a god, he is useless in his current state until he can learn from his very fatal mistakes. I hope his journey is a worthwhile one to watch (I never read the novel) - I don't mind these growing pains if the end result is satisfying.
As far as him deserving the FL - I'll have to wait and see how their story progresses. Affection is there, but a lasting relationship and true partnership will take more, including sacrifice and honoring each other's wishes/desires.
Watching the last immortal made me go watch ALP and just 3 episodes in i already know where yuan qi gets his silent…
Yep, and I think it’s also one of YQ’s main issues right now. Didn’t grow up with parental figures around to guide him. Daze Mtn is great, but I think they have been a bit too hands off. In the end, YQ has to learn for himself, and he’s struggling. He knows only as you say to sacrifice in silence lol
Caved in, decided to just keep watching. I’m enjoying this angsty section actually. Might be in the minority here, but I quite like watching Gujin/Yuanqi’s story here. He has a long way to go but he’s also come a long way from the carefree bum he was in the beginning. I think his main issue right now, which is not too uncommon when one is young, is to think he has to face everything by himself. He should trust in AY and his friends and communicate with them lol. Haven’t made up my mind yet on AY and what her growth arc will turn out to be, have to see how the whole Feng Yin thing plays out.
Yeah what!?😱That annoying Lady Hong said so herself that the only true match for True God YQ is the Phoenix…
That’s the beauty of a great xianxia story, when these self-righteous dumb dumbs choke on their own words in the end. It just takes an entire drama of suffering to get there lol
Welp, I guess it wouldn’t be xianxia without some angst. Finally some angsty action from ep 21-22. I might pause this for a bit until next week so I can watch all the angst in one go. But we’ll see if I can wait that long lol
Finished catching up finally! Although not a fan of the memory-loss part, I am enjoying this as a story of young love and the journey it takes to nurture it. Part of it is experiencing the often difficult reality that life/the world is not always as kind as it should be and deciding what kind of person one wants to be/become - a truly timeless coming of age story
