In the old Blood River one couldn't be a Kui and have association with one particular family at the same time. That's evident from several conversations between SMY and SCH in the initial episodes. SCH had asked SMY to kill the patriarch so Su family head could become the new patriarch. That's when SMY tell SCH, that after becoming a Kui he can only side patriarch, he is not attached to Su family.

Now that they have new BR, may be they do no have a formal Kui position because not even the remaining of 12 zodiac sign seem to be following SMY.

However, because of the friendship that exists between the two, SMY still functions like a Kui, without a formal designation.

Changli can't be coz-
1. Kui needs to be the patriarch, coz it is Kui's job. he roams around with other Su members and his buddies
2. Kui has to someone strong, Changli is like a sweet kid.

for now whether there is a formal position or not SMY is the one acting Kui. He is the one to take the lead before allowing SCH involve into any direct encounter. SMY will do that irrespective of being a Kui or otherwise, so lines are kind of blurred. SMY the friend standing by his friend SCH or SMY the Kiu standing the patriarch SCH. It's one and the same in their case.

I haven't experienced a lot of trolls in general, but even the people here to troll are kind of funny because they give some out of the world reasons in support of their view. At times I am left speechless, because I am like where is the logic? That too is fun in a way. MCL level fun :)

I dont think that position exists, if it does then SMY is Kui too.

Thanks for the insight. I am sure the lines he is reciting are a part of Chinese literature. Ghost peony had a very philosophical talk with TLC in the restaurant and that was a very well done scene. It had deeper meaning and well done. Very effective in establishing his character in that moment.

However, I did not find it to a good taste in the scene where he and LY are talking. Every-time he spoke as himself he was good, but with all those mask changes and vanishing act it looked more like mocking. I mean after a while he wasn't really reciting lines from a work of literature but singing lines likes 'why are you late' etc. Did not find it tasteful or even sinister. it downgraded the villain in an instant. It made a possible serious villain non- serious and stupid for no reason.

They could have stuck to his natural demeanour (like in the restaurant scene with TLC) instead of all those masks, singing regular dialogues. It broke the essence they were able build in the restaurant scene, and already made me as a viewer to not take him seriously.

However these are just my views for that particular scene and again I truly appreciate your efforts for sharing the above details :)

Yupp I agree. Yet girls are not plain stupid. Each one has strength of their own. Especially MYM and BHH.

I agree. Like I said, I did not really think of it that way. Because I am not sure how her body became poison itself, or may be I missed that detail in the show. Also the Tang girl negotiating with SCH asked if he still would consider her family when she is like this. It sounded like MXW would not be able to act like a fighter because she lost all her powers. That's why I did not think in this direction. When I heard the normal girl I though it will be like other people.
But it does make sense that by normal girl she could also mean to be like MYM, BHH. They are regular girls with their individual skills.

You have all rights to hate a show, love a show for any reasons. But you are hating for a reason because an actor chose a particular role which has comparatively less screen presence. What can anyone do about it? It was her decision, may be she liked the character more because she thought it's different, challenging, intriguing and god knows what. It was her choice.

What if Xiaoran chose the role. I am sure no matter how china entertainment industry is, they cant really force someone to do a role against their wish. Makers offered and Xiaoran accepted the role. She must have read the script and understood the role. Don't think she is naive to be mislead into accepting it.

Poor Miracle doctor. I find her sweet, SMY and her together look good together and even her banter with SCH gives sibling vibes.
I too would have loved to see MYM more than she is shown. Thankfully she appeared in episode 27 and she was good with the TLY disciple. But that's how her character is written by the author I guess.. i hope we get to see more of MYM as we are in Tang clan and the story is related to TLY. So I am hoping MYM will have more scenes, fingers crossed.

I also felt the same, it's just Jian Wudi really looked a good contender only because SMY called him purest sword and all. That was the only part that confused me. But I agree with you, they most probably were talking about SMY.
In some of the scenes SMY has white hair, who knows that when he actually attains the deity level or reaches near it. I mean it looks like he will go all in for whenever that happens in the show. I wonder what incident leads SMY to be in white hair.

Yes! He is back in Black and believe it or not he looks beautiful fighting in black as former Kui/current Su Jia head. The way SMY stood in his stance and men falling behind like leaves.. What I love is there are no uanessacry slow motions.
