I really think the contrast between SMY and SCH is what brings out their characters. They are opposites. SMY's calm, composed demeanor highlights SCH's mischievous and scheming side. Where as SCH makes SMY look extra composed. I like that contrast, that push and pull. makes things intersting.
No. I dont expect it to. I have lee hong ki (my girl second lead) feeling now. In that some people have limited…
That's my wish, it happens or not.. I don't know. It may go worse or be even better than my expectations. Or even take a turn beyond my imagination (especially for timeline beyond the anime version) for better or for worse. Will wait and watch. So far I am enjoying it, especially the fight sequences, how close each characters is to the anime version. Honestly, it's such a shame that you are not enjoying it. Because you seem to have seen a lot of shows, so if this one also met your expectations I am sure you'd be great to discuss good things and bad things as they unfold in the remaining 35 episodes. I really hope there are other shows lined up which will meet your expectations in every way possible. And if I happen to be watching that show too, we can exchange our thoughts.
At some point in the show it's my wish to see SMY go all out crazy instead of being his current constrained, restrained, composed on the outside persona. For him to let go off is inner conflicts and turmoils for once and be this uncontrollable assassin. so much so that the reckless yet calculative SCH makes him remember to calm things down.. I want to see it happen once.. just once..
Spoiler alert... I find the synopsis above doesn't do justice to the plot of this drama as there are more to the…
This definitely makes it all more interesting. I am excited about whats happening right now which is very much in sync with Amine version (which I have seen). However, I am more hyped about the story line that's after, where the anime version stopped. I am looking forward to that, but it scares me too, because story and script can actually make or break it all.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't think I am going anywhere until this one is over. I am liking it so far. but I have seen the anime version. however as far as i know it is not complete and neither is the novel version. please correct me if I am wrong. Does TBOY has storyline beyond the Anime/book version of Blood River? Just curious.

i have added a spoiler tag, took me a while to figure out, its done by editing option. though I think it is a mentioned quite a few times in this forum where this show stands along with other two shows as far as timeline is concerned.
Nice bromance between Sumuyu and Suchanghe But looking at their past and Suchanghe saying he will return this…
I think one of the other shows of this verse if post Blood River timeline. Did SCH exist in that show? If his chatacter exists in that other show than he may not die here in BL timeline. But there can be a fallout between the two at some point in time.
Enjoying the show so far. However, i particuarly love watching flashback scenes of SMY and SCH. Both have done a great job. I can feel the difference between these characters before and after joining the Blood River. SMY was confident like present but less conflicted, more expressive like a boy of that age, full of conviction that as far as one is strong, they can make the rules bend. He was more hopeful than present timeline. SCH on the other looked like someone who was less rebellious than present. He was more of a friend or family to SMY because in present time line being a part of Su family puts a lot of restrictions on him (like any other member).
They have gone through a lot for them to mature and change since they were accepted by Su family. And that shows in their current persona. Thats why flashback scenes makes me appreciate the seriousness, reclusiveness of SMY and love and care disguised under his laid back and mischievous nature
Only thing that has not changed yet- is their willingness to protect each other. Their ways have changed as they both have their own restrictions and expectations from their current roles as Kui and Su Jia's members.
I watched anime quite a few months ago, dont remember all the plot details but do remember the characters and their personalities. In 5 episodes so far, I think they are sticking very tightly to anime version. Cant say about the novel because I haven't read it. I would like to know if there has been any kind of (even minor) deviation from the anime version?
I hate to be that person but is there any subtle romance in this? I like dramas with and without romance im just…
On a spectrum of 'subtlety' from 0 to 10, I would rate romance at 2.5 or highest at 3 so far (5 episodes) SMY and HBH are way from anything to be described as romance, they are still (less than) two stragers workijg towards a common goal, while keeping their individual secrets. But they have developed a rhythm. Another couple is MYM and TLY, MYM is definitely having fun teasing TLY. I dont know thats romance yet, but they do have chemistry. Lets see how things progress in remaining 35 episodes.
Really?? I will want to observe this more when i watch the upcoming episodes. I think you dont mean it in literal sense, but it is possible that the frequency of these two keywords is high. Dint notice is so far.. coz show us all about assassins..
If all three families can unite to kill the patriarch ,that means they are hungry for power then they could done…
I am no expert of this verse, but it looks like Patriarch is that powerful because of his own skills and him being the current weilder of the sword makes him the most powerful in Blood river. To me it looks like three families have to follow whoever is the patriarch and as soon as there is a chance that the current weilder is either dead or in a weakened state they all can fight for the next patriarch position. Thats why as soon as news of Patriarch being poisones reaches the 3 families, all of them want to get the sword. This is my understanding- could be wrong too
Apologies in advance if my comments are seen more thab often. Reason being- I may or may not be able to compile my thoughts, questions, queries or even rants, which ever applicable depending on my experience of 'Blood River' in that moment. I may not be able to hold on to my thoughts till I polish them into beatifully articulated posts like a few I have read so far, because at times I am just too much into the show. I don't have anyone around who is watching the show along with me to talk or even vent about it, hence I decided to join here.. Lets see how the experience ends up.

SMY is the epitome of contradiction.
