There’s a Recommendation section on the show page that has some great picks. The top one is Cherry Magic which I personally really loved. I rated that show a 10 which is rare for me lmao
I always love reading your articles. They actually give me a lot to think about or put into perspective!
When I first started watching dramas, I could binge watch them in one go. But lately, I have been watching one or two episodes at a time, even for shows that aren’t currently airing. I love engaging with the fandom as the show is airing too. I just don’t have the attention span anymore to watch multiple episodes at once. I thought I would always be able to binge watch shows in one go but apparently not. I’m too antsy now and I have to get up and do something else. For me to do that, I have to REALLY be interested in the show.
So, for now, you can call me a semi-retired binge watcher but it may change in the future.
Maybe it's just me but I don't really see how the writing is regressing like some people have said. Their may be see plot points that I am not entirely in love with but I am still very much enjoying the show and the writing of the show. I don't want to jump to any conclusions either yet especially since the show still has a few episodes left. I notice with a lot of dramas that people will criticize the show if it isn't going the way they want it too but idk I guess I like when a show goes in a different way than I expected (most of the time not all of the time lmao)
I loved how at the beginning you see the couple come into the office and he's carrying his wife on her back because her shoe broke and Jung Myung Seok (the senior lawyer) talks about how nice it is to see how the man cares for his wife and compares them to a pair of mandarin ducks to which Woo Young Woo counteracts his point and says that mandarin ducks aren't actually that loving to one another. She said during the mating period, the male duck stays and builds a nest with the female duck but once the mating period is over, the male duck leaves for another female. Leaving the female duck to raise the babies on her own. It's foreshadowing for what's to come in the episode with the man trying to get a divorce after winning the case and recieving the money and basically abandon his family to be with the lady he was cheating with and live what he thinks is a "better" life. Idk, I thought it was a clever little detail they threw in there. Love the writing on this show!
Isn't it crazy how life (and DNA) works? Woo Young Woo and her mother had never interacted their whole life yet they have some of the same characteristics. Like back in Episode 6 when they were both in the store and her mother was lining up the shoes neatly and then you see Woo Young Woo lining up the tops neatly. Not to mention the fact that they both are super smart lawyers now. It's fascinating to me.
The scene where where Woo Young Woo and Lee Joon Ho were running after that man had me laughing🤣. Usually in kdramas where there is a chase scene and they run into someone or knock over packages or etc. , they just keep going but you see Woo Young Woo stop in the middle of the chase and get the cart with the packages trying to help the person lmao
What a wonderful article! I have been trying to get some of my family members to start watching kdramas to no avail. Like others have mentioned, they bring up the fact that they have subtitles which infuriates me because they are truly missing out on some quality entertainment. It's funny too because I really feel like they would enjoy kdramas since they enjoy American television with the same themes/genres and they might end up loving them even more than American television but they still won't budge.
