He's been waiting to marry her for a long time 🤭. I liked how in the novel it emphasized he kept feeling his name on the marriage decree like he couldn't believe it lol. It was something that caused a bit of tension between them cause he wanted to be "official" with her while she wasn't ready to remarry.

A very kind and virtuous man who's only goal in life is to be a good official and serve the people, he's incredibly intelligent and can be cunning but always caring towards other people. His gentle and kind nature naturally attracts alot of people to like him, he's often treated very well by other people in the novel.
