Park Seo Joon is Awesome

This was a really good series for the most part. I enjoyed the diverse cast and atmosphere. I was glad to see a character like Kim Toni and Hyun Yi.

I watched b/c of Park Seo Joon and I was not disappointed. His face emotes so well. I felt all of the pain of his character Saeroyi. I understood his single minded focus once he made up his mind to get revenge. Loved when he finally realized that living to hate someone is not living at all and only existing.

I really loved the cast and everyone played their roles well. I love the actor that plays Chairman Jang. Such a ruthless and manipulitive guy. Leading by fear and power. Very different from other roles he's been in that I've seen. He was in Hwarang and he was one of my favorite people. Here he was the worst. Rasing his oldest son, Geun Won to be that way never teaching him right from wrong and pitting him against his younger brother, Geon soo... WOW!!! Geun Won never accepted responsibilities for his actions.

I really liked the actor playing Seung Kwon too. See what a little faith can do for someone.

I really didn't like either FL and didn't want either to be with Saeroyi but it is what it is.

It's Good but that ending NO!!!

Well, overall a good series but not a fan of this ending and not sure why there should be a 2nd season as other suggest/would like.

What I didn't like the most was that it seemed uncharacteristic for Sang Woo to do what he did at the end. He had been ruthlessly playing the game from the start so why the hell didn't he at least attempt to kill Gi Hun one more time when he 'quit' the game especially since he had clearly harbored a grudge against him since they were young b/c of his trusting, gullible nature.

Gi Hun is a ne'er-do-well. Pretty much living off his mother his whole life. Never being a good enough father to his daughter and then choosing that at the end??? WTF ????

Didn't like the fact that we didn't get Frontman's backstory and why after winning the game he became that guy and how the hell can he shoot his baby brother AISH!!!

So glad that screeching hag and that gangster died they were the worst. Having foreigners be the VIPs is low hanging fruit but I digress.

Also, can we get a squid game with rich people as the damn contestants - ALL BEING EQUAL and all. I mean the Front Man continued to perpetuate the lie that inside the "games" it's equal, above board and essentially fair b/c everyone starts off on the same footing but they had been manipulating the games from the start.

A Gem of a Movie

OMG!! What a great movie about friendship and finding it again. I really enjoyed everything about the movie. The cast was great and they worked really well together. Kang So Ra as Ha Chun Hwa and Shim Eun Kyeong as Im Na Mi were really great. I mean the whole cast played their parts well but these two were the standouts for me. I loved the actresses that played the older versions of them too; so shout out to Jin Hee Kyung and Yoo Ho Jung.

The movie brought back so much nostalgia for me. I had a core group of friends in highschool and we did so many things together. I had a blast my four years of highschool and this really made me remember how much fun we all had. The movie also reminded me of the movie Now and Then. I'm pretty much a sucker for good movies about female freindships.

This is really just a genuinely good movie with a great cast!!

Thanks for the recommendation @suckerforhappyendings! You made my afternoon.

Fun times with BTS

Another super sweet summer vacation with the BTS guys; this time in Saipan.

I really do love the ending messages to each other and I love how shy they get when they have to say something nice about each other and when they receive compliments. Suga is my spirit animal for life. On the first day Suga slept the whole time which is so awesome in my opinion. Nice to relax after a long week and flight.

Jimin is the king of marbles and his face was face was so cute when they were playing!! In the second game when V said he can't remember what he did yesterday and when he was trying to cheat for the answer to Suga's diary I was dying. They visited a place to see and kiss stingrays and I was with Jin when they had the big stingray behind him and he was screaming in fear. In fact I would have been screaming with the smaller ones. I do love that they are always down to try something at least once even if they don't like it or fear it. J-Hope on the jetovator was too funny and precious.

What a let down

I was actually rather enjoying the show for the most part. Fairly decent cast a really cute bully/3ML. 3ML arc was my favorite part. Yi Yang and Fang Fang were so cute together.

The main story and couple Qing Qing and Situ Feng were cute enough and at the beginning I really loved Qing Qing's independence and NGAF attitude but in the latter episodes she really got on my nerves as did Situ Feng. But the thing I hated the most was that the last 5 episodes were just really meh and the whole storyline with Xin Ya's behavior during those eps was too damn much and it's a trope I hate above all others. Nothing redeeming about that shit!!

I wanted this to be a light, fun, romcom with cute ending but it was super annoying!

Jimin is the Best!!

So the guys go to Malta this time around. It starts off sad to say with V not there the first 3 days. Then once he gets to Malta Suga has to leave for the rest of the trip. I was sad that he didn't get to continue the trip. But he did get to teach JK about wine and drinking an Irish Bomb which is apparently the definition of friendship. LOL!

I loved that JK and V both got to do busking. I mean they most likely could never do it now and that was a nice way for them to do something they've both wanted to try. I Loved J-Hope and RM chilling in St. Julien. Nice friendhsip bonding. Loved Jin chillin' by himself - A MOOD in and of itself.

However, what I loved the most though, was that Jimin really took care of V during the camping trip and then after by just encouraging him and being there for him during the trip. Jimin was the bestest friend a person could have. I will forever think about the song Friends now. They truly are soulmates.

Weirdly Fascinating

What's really great about the series is Koyuki and Matsumoto Jun excellent in the roles they played.

As weird as the relationship is between the leads, it was very loving and believable. However, I thought the first 6 episodes were extremely well done but the remaining episodes went down hill for me. Maybe it was at that point I started to wonder what the endgame was going to be. I don't think I actually wanted Sumire-chan and Momo to be together but I didn't want her to be with Hasumi either. I found him lacking something and he was quite obnoxious to me. Sumire's bestfriend was awesome too! I really liked her and the advise she was giving Sumire.

Sumire's boss what too much. His comments were off the chain. I mean I get this was 2003 but his sexism was the most. I mean there was a scene in one episode where Fukishimi told her coworker that it could be sexual harassment b/c he told her her perfume was too strong but their boss was constantly belittling Sumire and women in the workplace and no one batted an eyelash!!! I was just outdone.

Overall it's an enjoyable series to watch once. Will not watch again but I will watch the remake and the Korean movie version.

Overall a cute comedy with a really enjoyable cast. My favorite character hands down was Tonomine. His sage advise throughout was spot on. The character of Isono put in for the comic relief but I felt bad for him a lot of the times; some of the situations he was put in were hysterical. I also, thoroughly enjoyed episode 3's ghost story even though it could have been left out all together.

What I did not like about the show was Asuaka manipulative mother. She was something else and that complete about-face she had in the last episode was awkward to say the least.

I also did not like episode 11 racist ass blackface and I guess whiteface flashback scene where the teachers have a flashback of there time in Texas at an American high school. I am not trying to have anything cancelled or erased from existence but want people to know that it exists.

Tamaki is Still as Adorable as Ever

This unfortunately, was somewhat of a let down. I really enjoyed the series a lot. But this just didn't have the kind of effervescent fun the series delivered each episode. While the cast was still strong, I just didn't like the storylines deviation from the anime and the brother/sister dynamic here was a drag. All in all I'm glad I watched b/c Yamamoto Yusuke and Kawaguchi Haruna are worth watching it at least once for. It does make me wish there had been another movie made or a series reboot done.

Oldie but Goodie

This is a really great show from the late 90's. I'm not even sure how I stumbled upon it but I am so glad I did.

I loved almost everything about this series. Very realistic portrayal of left behind youth who have to fend for themselves when parents and society decide to give up on them. The lead actor Domoto Tsuyoshi was fantastic as Ryuu as was Kamikawa Takaya as Haruna and I can't leave out Megumi Okina as Akane. Even the supporting cast is phenomenal. I was prejudging characters who ended up making me love them( Toshi).

This series had me on an emotional rollercoaster. My heart was breaking for Ryuu and Sawaki. Sawaki was such a tragic, well meaning guy who never fully recovered after having his heart broken by the only person he has ever loved. While I didn't love everything that happened in the story; overall it was a great drama and I highly recommend. I would not rewatch b/c that's not my jam. So even though I won't rewatch' I gave rewatch value an 8. The opening theme song is beautiful and I liked the closing theme song as well. They both fit perfectly with the storyline. The last episode was a bit overly dramatic bit I think that was the only way to get the resolutions the characters needed.

I also really loved they fact the everyone isn't so damn good looking. I mean nowadays you watch a drama and everyone's a f**king model. I did have a huge crush on Ando Masanobu and Yoshizawa Hisashi.

BTS Fun

This was a fun show to watch. New and old fans alike will enjoy. This is the guys first trip where they had to do do things on their own (all the while being filmed). I laughed and had teary eye moments especially when RM couldn't stay on the last few day days of the trip. LMAO when J-hope's way to avoid pictures with fans and randos is to say "important business"! Loved when V got lost and instead of panicking he just enjoyed the place he was in. I stan V and one of the things I love about him is his ability to just go with the flow. I love how Jimin lost his bag and almost lost it again. Being responsible for your traveling gear and documents is huge! I loved when they went to the sauna in Finland and made the bet to jump in the cold water and Suga was like I hate cold water and of course had to get in.

I loved that it was a vacation where they got to have fun and all the reflection they had where they expressed the joy and appreciation for being able to go and all the people who usually take care of them when they travel.

I loved all the dancing and being silly and just being together. All the pranks they pulled and tried to pull on each other. Good show!

For the BTS Stans of the World

As a new BTS fan I am glad I found and watched this series. There are some definite cringe moments like another reviewer wrote but overall it's a genuinely good show about their first trip to America. Coolie got on my nerves but I loved how Warren G was with them. I especially loved their version of Regulate and J-Hope and Jin's verse actually should have won that round but didn't. I also DID NOT know that JK could sing like. Their rendition of "Oh Happy Day" took me to church and that harmonizing with Tae! Loved it. That ending concert was a nice wrap to 2 weeks in the US. "Started from the bottom now we HERE!!!

Hot Guys and Hot Ramen

Jeong Il Woo as Cha Chi Soo was the best. I loved him from beginning to end as the entitled, spoiled and obnoxious brat to the man falling in love and being forced to go to the army. I loved the way his clothes fit him so perfectly. The cast was really great together, really good chemistry between everyone. Even though Eun Bi got on my nerves I did like her. I felt like her character really was trying to be herself and not pretending that she didn't have feelings for the rich boy just because he's rich. I was also glad that Cha Chi Soo's father was really only trying to save him from heartache and not saying Eun Bi wasn't good enough for him.

What's terrible about the whole series is episode 16 is horrible. Anti-climatic and no real fantasy ending that I like. It really wasn't even a real romcom ending!!. Park Min Woo as Ba Eul was hysterical and great comic relief. Didn't really understand what he saw in Yoon So Yi!

What I loved is that there were so many insanely funny and ridiculous moments that you can't help but laugh and love this show. Episode 6 in particular hand me on the floor laughing. The first 15 minutes of that episode is pure comedy gold.

Cha Chi Soo was so spoiled he cried about not havening a bidet in the bathroom. JIW was so funny in this series I was living for every scene he was in.

A Fun Romance to Watch

So this is the first KDrama and Asian drama I ever watched and it started me on all the others I have since watched over the last few months.

I liked it. I thought it was paced just right and liked most of the characters. Ha Won is the heroine working hard to get enough money to pay for college and trying to be a good person. Going to live with 3 rich , spoiled heirs seemed like the easy way to make the money she so desperately needs. First is the arrogant Hyun Min who has always been the favored hei; then there is the youngest heir, Seo Woo who is also a music star; next is outcast heir, Ji Woon (my favorite - girls love a bad boy!).

This is another one of those stories where you know 2 people are going to fall in love but there will be obstacles to keep them apart and them fighting to stay apart all the while pining for each other. But who cares? I watch because I love romance and the fantasy of it all.

I loved Secretary Lee and he was so damn cute . The cast is really good looking but that's also part of the fantasy.

I loved the soundtrack. It's really good. I would rewatch for certain scenes like the first time Hyun Min sees Ha Won, the wedding scene and the time they all went on vacation. I also really loved most scenes with Ha Won and Ji Woon.

Oof!

Typical dumb FL in love with the uber smart, rich, jerk ML who won't pay her any attention unless some other boy likes or wants her.

Hani is the dumbest FL character I have watched this year and her sheer ignorance and immaturity made me hate her the whole time. There's not even any real development of her character until the last episode where she finally wants something for herself. This is the 1st show I watched with Jung So Min and she's really good as Hani and at first I didn't mind how dumb the character was b/c the actress was so good but by the 8th episode it was just the same episode over and over.

The positives of the series are the parents. Hani's father was a good father and Seungjo's parents who typically would be portrayed as the evil rich people were relatively good and generous. Even though eventaully, Seungjo's mother became just as unbearable as Hani.

Overall the series is less than average. The cast including the supporting cast is really good though.
