Emotionally Resonant

This is the best Jdrama I've watched in a long time. The series is well acted, well scripted and thought provoking. The reason the series is not getting a 10 is because there were things brought up or mentioned in the show that were never addressed again that I needed answers. If you watch you'll understand what I mean.

What was really well done is the different perspectives we saw of the jurors and how the case was playing into their lives and the parallels between Risako and the mother on trial. This is a slow burn series but worth the watch. As frustrated as I was watching Risako not standing up for herself, the journey she took to get there was worth the wait. I kept screaming at the TV girl, please say something; please tell these people how you feel and what you think; please stop letting your husband make you feel worthless.

I loved that it felt like I was at the courthouse each day listening to the evidence. A woman is on trial for killing her infant daughter. Seems straight forward enough until you delve into the whys and hows. How society views mothers, and women and children and why it always seems to fall on the mother to do the heavy lifting for raising the child. Why men get to procreate and then have no responsibility in the raising of the child.

A little Better Than Average Series with Interesting Villain

Overall, I liked this series. Dr. Frost is cold, and unemotional (hence, the name) but a brilliant psychologist. I liked Song Chang Eui in the role. He's very good. I have never seen him or the FL Jung Eun Chae who plays assistant Yoon in anything and they played off each other very well.

There were different crimes each episode with and over arching main case. I thought each case was good and I liked the supporting cast of police and Detective Nam. Detective Nam was good comic relief but he was also a good cop which you don't always get in these series. I also, adored young detective Cha.

I also, really liked the main villain. I won't give any spoilers away but he was a very interesting character . They could have done more with him and maybe that was the plan b/c the ending makes you think there could be a 2nd season but maybe not enough people watched to warrant one.

Boring & Wasted Documentary

I watch a lot of true crime series and this is one of the worse one's I've seen. I'm not sure who directed and produced this but It was not that great. Also, did not need 3 episodes. I thought the police in Kdramas were incompetent but the actual Korean police fumbled this entire case. The different districts didn't coordinate efforts or share information. They let this psycho walk out of the police station and destroy evidence. Too many corrupt and or lazy cops. I did appreciate the forensic/s doctor and the profiler as well but the documentary focused way to much on police interviews. I found it weird too that the police seemed to be parading the killer around in front of the media. The only good thing I heard in this doc was that b/c of the colossal fuck ups by the police, policies and procedures changed.

It was a nice chapter ending docuseries. I liked seeing how they all thought about the next steps and how hard it would be after they have been together for so long. To be apart and do their own things. It's nice to see them thinking and talking about there own wants and needs. I only wish it had been a little more in depth, like individual episodes.

Now that they will be all be out of the military in June I look forward to seeing what new things and music and other adventures they have instore. Maybe Taehyung will finally do another drama. A lot of the solo music has been great and different and I hope they continue to grow as artist.

Overall, I really enjoyed this series. Could have done without the sad parts and a certain someone dying but otherwise an absolutely fun watch.

I enjoyed the cases of the week and the over arching story even though the over arching story went on too long. for me. This was the first series I've watched with NamKoong Min and he was so good in this. His switch up was so well done. I liked all the main cast and the supporting cast in the Prosecutor's office. Park Jin U was comedy gold. Just loved his character. I was glad there was no romance between the leads.

Episode 9 was fucking hilarious! From to Mu Jang buying the car to the the scammer claiming to be 23 years old. I LOL damn near the entire episode. The humor of the show is top notch. Min Hyuk is a much better character than I gave him credit for and I appreciate the writers for that. I was ready to write him off as a prick and one note but he really was a good and caring prosecutor.

Stellar Acting - Phenomenal Cast

Overall, I really enjoyed this adult drama. We went through the motions of falling in love and breaking up and it was heartbreaking. I really loved Jung Woo Sung and Shin Hyun Been. They were great together. The whole cast is really good too.

For the most part, I thought the writing was extremely well done but it unfortunately, in the last few episodes, the series falls into those same, stupid, familiar Kdrama tropes that I can't stand like an ex who can't let go, people no longer communicating when they had been up 'til that point. Compounded childhood trauma for the ML as if his life hasn't been difficult enough just to pile on. Secrets and misunderstandings affecting peoples lives for years. Adults who can't seem to get past perceived slights and wrong doings.

It's a very, melancholy series and the music/soundtrack plays well into that. I really enjoyed the soundtrack. The series may be a bit slow for some people but it's worth a watch if you want a well written, adult show even though it may disappoint you towards the end.

Could Have Been Better

I really like the beginning of the series. I thought the episodes flowed really well and the Bo Jin Yan's character
was very interesting. I liked how his relationship with Jian Yao developed. I loved too that Jian Yao wasn't meek and shy and stood her ground with Bo Jin Yan. Fu Zi Yu was a great friend to have. I enjoyed his and Bo Jin Yan's bromance.

The earlier episodes had a murder of the week vibe that was good with the overarching main serial killer case. I think the show started to get slow and boring b/c they tied all the murder cases to that main serial killer which was unnecessary. I also hated the 11th hour BS dual ending. It's one of my most hated tropes. I mean this show has 24 episodes and in the 22nd episode they decided to make someone else the puppet master behind Xie Han and while I kinda figured who that was earlier than revealed, I DID NOT like that bullshit!

Wallace Huo was absolutely fantastic though as was Ma Si Chun. I really liked the majority of the cast but Terence Yin was not that great especially after the big reveal.

As a fan of the Blue Period anime I think the movie took unnecessary liberties with some of the characters like Ryuji and Yatori's 3 best friends. That being said the movie still overall follows the themes of the anime. I haven't read the manga so I am not sure how different the movie is from that.

Maeda Gordon is actually perfectly cast as Yatori. I really liked his performance. The scene with Yatori and Shin at the pastry shop and the scenes with Yatori and Ryuji were very well done and we see the growth of those characters in those moments. Takahashi Fumiya played Ryuji and he was absolutely stunning. Another great performance by him as well. However, I feel like his character's arc was rushed.

It's a better movie in my opinion if you haven't watched the anime. If you have seen the anime you can't help but compare and find the inconsistencies and flaws. It's worth a watch, all the same though.

Poorly Written & Directed

******SPOILERS ABOUND - DO NOT PASS GO, DO NOT COLLECT $200 IF YOU HATE SPOILERS*****

What should have been an interesting who done it is a poorly written, nonsensical mess. You know almost immediately that Yu Ji Yun, the main suspect is not the killer yet her husband, Seong Ryeol does everything in his power to make her look guilty. The director wanted to make a noir film but just b/c you have a lot of dark scenes doesn't mean you have a crime noir film.

They have Ryu Seung Ryong, one of my favorite actors playing the most cartoonish villain's I have seen in a long while. He doesn't care about his brother's murder and only cares about getting his stolen goods back, specifically these poop coffee beans. This film stars Cha Seong Won, Ryu Seung Ryong, Song Yoon Ah, Oh Jung Se and even this stellar cast can't save this poorly written foolishness.

I loved Lee El in this she was super cute and adorable playing the coroner.

The big reveal was very predictable, as well. I knew from jump who the mastermind was. This part I won't spoil for any one who really wants to watch.

This was a quirky short series that was a delight to watch. The show is quite absurd but very funny!

The main cast is fantastic and that's what really makes the show enjoyable. Tsuna Keito nailed the role of Otori. He's the smartest kid at school, who's only reason for being is to study and obtain knowledge. He wants to know what love is and soon falls in love with Hanako. The problem is that his all boys school prohibits the students from falling in love. I liked Otori's journey. Finding love and having his heartbroken. Ultimately learning that love is worth the journey.

The Series is Quite Tedious

I really didn't like this series. It's my own fault b/c I thought it was a comedy all the trailers I saw make it seem like that but its really a drama. Some comment I read said it was a tragicomedy and that's very accurate.

There are no real consequences for the husband, mother in law or the mistress. All of whom act like children throughout the series. Dr. Cha played the martyr throughout. Yes, the series is about her journey to self love but that doesn't mean other issues couldn't have been addressed but they played most of the husband's scenes for comedy and I think that irritated me the most. The husband is trash and not b/c he cheating on her but b/c he's mean, selfish and gaslighting her. In the 11th hour they tried to make him sympathetic and that pissed me off even more.

I did like the Dr. Roy & Dr. Jeon and I loved the main characters best friend, Mi Hee.

Cliche's Galore But Enjoyable

I watched this b/c someone I like recommended it to me and I needed a light, fun, not to serious romcom. Especially after some of the stuff I've been watching lately! Looking at you Mr. Plankton!!

Even with the cliche's galore, I still found the series very enjoyable. The cast was great as well. I have never seen the main leads in anything but I really loved all 4 leads and I thought the comedy was silly fun. There was a lot of meta silliness too with the show within a show the side characters were watching. I thought the lie about the relationship went on a bit too long and I thought Young Seo SFL was quite obnoxious never letting Sung Hoon explain things.

I really liked this b/c Jeon Jong Seo as OkJu is absolutely fantastic! I have only seen in her Money Heist: Korea and she was one of the best things about that show.

She carries this film and that opening scene was excellent but then the action was non-existing. It was a bit slow for my liking at the beginning and I get that they were trying to get the audience to understand why Ok Ju would go through those lengths to avenge Min Hee. Some of the flashbacks went on a little too long. Overall, I enjoyed it. I was even taken by surprise when she killed one of the characters. Did not see that coming!

Kim Ji Hoon never disappoints! This man can play the worst villain and then the complete opposite. The scene where he is working out... Oh my goodness!

Suspenseful and Excellent Tension

This was an almost great series but unfortunately the last few episodes falter in a big way for me. It's still worth the watch though. The ending was rushed and I wished something more had been revealed about Qin Li that helped explained his motivations other than the typical poor family and abuse. The ML is absolutely fantastic and this man should be going big places. He nailed mild manner psycho to a T! Fan Zhi Xin had me feeling like I was being gaslighted! The rest of the cast is decent enough and played their parts. The FL was super annoying in the beginning and I was glad she developed some courage. Overall, an enjoyable miniseries

I would seriously give the opening credits and theme music a 10 that's how great it is. Total props to the graphic designer/lead animator(s), editor, sound engineer and composer.

You Probably Won't Like the Ending

I don't watch a lot of these 10 minute per ep shows b/c I am always afraid that they will be dissappointing and leave me wanting more but I thought the synopis for this was very intriguing.

I liked that the FL wasn't shy and meek and she is a forensics doctor in a day and age where that was very rare I liked the ML too and he had some good comic relief moments. I thought the acting was decent. The series has a murder of the week element with an over arching main serial killer case that we got little nuggets about each ep.

I enjoyed this miniepisode series overall and I really liked the cast/characters but I should have known there was no way it would be resolved to my liking from the last few episodes! The good news is that the audience learns a bit about who the serial killer is at the end but the characters do not. It's a ciffhanger in that regard but it's also a complete ending since there may not be a 2nd season. So, while I was left disappointed and wanting more for the leads I'm not as upset as I would be if I didn't get that info about the serial killer.
