Qian told the kids- play like you enjoy it here so we can escape. She’s in survival mode. She has to make him believe she loves him so she can save her son. He literally has her son held captive. She tried resisting and it only made him more deranged. She’s smart for playing along. I didn’t see the bathtub scene as intimate or sexual. I saw it as a helpless woman/mom using herself to save her son from this madman

Same. They did such a good job by giving him depth that you can’t just hate him. I’m mad at him but I pity him.

Qi Min is manipulative and evil. His little brother is just evil. This is why Qi Min is so much more terrifying to me

That scene of FCY and her squad of Li An thugs…. 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹 It was such a wholesome reunion but also heartbreaking. Ugh I’m so invested in alll the characters it’s not healthy.

Our FCY and Bestie Qian are both so traumatized by their hubbs that I’m terrified for when they both snap and take revenge.

FCY will definitely make the Marquis crumble and pour his heart out. Qian on the other hand… there is just no return for Qi Min. 😞

I dropped both. I was more invested in Fated Hearts and Prisoner of Beauty. Don’t forget Blossom and Glory.

I don’t know that he hates him (too soon to tell) but he’s incapable of loving anyone. His obsession with Qian isn’t love. He has no attachment to the son and so he’s using him as a pawn to control Qian.

I’m soooo curious about their brotherly relationship though. I’m almost sus that they’re faking it but idk crazy does attract crazy

100% agreed. This is why the writers did a brilliant job. She’s such a minor character yet they carefully crafted her existence and death. I was gutted when they pushed her lifeless body passed CFY and she felt nothing since she never got to see Ms Kang’s redemption. The speech she gave about Ms Kang’s tragic life really dug the knife deeper in our hearts. It created layers to her character and it made you wonder about the complexity of human nature. Overall, Ms Kang survived. She didn’t live. She existed only to live in pain and she died in pain knowing that her grandsons are alone.

The way Mrs Kang died. I am at loss for words. And then CFY shared a bit of her heartbreaking family history. Damn. Talk about character arc. I’m still processing everything. It felt like Game of Thrones.
